  • Former Labor senator Stephen Conroy says economic growth is “really slowing” faster than the RBA wants to acknowledge.
Telstra is considering slashing 2,800 jobs from its direct workforce.
“So it’s no surprise, unfortunately, to see major corporations having to make decisions like this,” Mr Conroy said.

I left Telstra because they kept bumping up.the prices too regularly despite the fact that i had a contract saying my charge was for 12 months and i was 7 months into my plan.

Why are the backpackers needed in any sectors, why dont these employers employ locals? I will tell you why, because so many companies get kickbacks to employ backpackers and quite often they dont pay them a reasonable liveable wage either.
That has been the case for quite some time, I spent the summer fruitpicking back in the 90's and though the wage wasn't great it was ok and was a bit of fun at the same time.
No way known the wage has increased to match the cost of living, this is driven by greed from your supermarkets. I dont blame the farmers at all. I think old mate Conroy spent too many years as a Labor Senator.

blaming AI to take job is rubbish lies. Telstra once again shipping the job to India. if customers don't boycott Telstra, more corporations will follow and soon or later, you gonna end up sacked anyway.
