So awesome!! Gives me such Hope as I pray for my son who has turned his heart away from God~he knows the truth ~its there and God is ever before him!!! PTL
I’m right there with you! My daughter even served as a missionary in China for a while. She did an about face in 2014 due to a traumatic medical experience and has been blazing a trail as far as possible from our God ever since. I needed hope today. Thank you for the reminder of God’s abilities and heart, Tara-Leigh.
@@inh0usegraphics- your comment could be mine as well!! She loves Jesus her entire life and served as a Missionary in China for 8 yrs. She returned (Ohio) in 2014 and was literally in bed for 3 months sick. The past 5 yrs. she has “deconstructed” to the point that she is bitter toward all things Christian. I pray daily- she has a very independent and strong will. Breaks my heart.
I pray every day that my sons will turn back to God before it is too late. I will always have hope, because I know that God, and only God, can truly change hearts.
It's amazing how many people are saved while attempting to prove that God doesn't exist. One of my favorite examples is an evolutionary professor/scientist from UC Berkley that came and spoke at my church several times. His parents were also evolutionary professors at UC Berkley so he grew up in the paleontology department. He finally got fed up with students who were creationists so he decided he was going out into the field to prove them wrong. The fossil evidence in the field proved to him the Bible is true. Despite his intention concerning the existence of God, he was open minded enough that God used the truth of the physical evidence to convert him.
I have often prayed for my family to have a Pauline conversation experience. 🙏🏽 It is so powerful. God welcomes everyone and anyone, even those who have persecuted Him and His kids, like Paul. Acts 10:34-35 says, ... "God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right."

I am always encouraged by the conversion of Saul/Paul. It is a reminder to me that no one is too far gone in sin to be saved. Thank You, Jesus! Praise His holy name! I praise Yahweh for all of His goodness in bringing salvation through His chosen nation of Israel so that all nations can be blessed. Acts 10:34-35 ESV "So Peter opened his mouth and said: 'Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.'" Thank you, TLC, for the encouraging words. We can remain in hope for our lost loved ones to come to the Lord.
In Acts 9:28 it says, “So Saul stayed with the apostles and went all around Jerusalem with them, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord.” Saul once an enemy is now an ally. Then in Acts 9:31 “The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.” This should encourage us to pray for those who oppose us in our sharing of the gospel, at work, and even in the world stage. Pray for your personal enemies, pray for the enemies of Christ, pray for the enemies of your country, their conversion could lead to peace.
Aloha, praise the Lord and good morning BR family. Saul becoming a Christian was one of my favorites. He was on his way to slaughter the disciples of the Lord. But God had a different plan for him for regardless of how evil he was. He was shocked when he was told to arise, and go into city of Damascus and it shall be told thee what to do. God is after hearts; what the enemy uses as evil, God uses for good. He where the JOY is!!
Good Sunday morning Family Thank God for transforming 💕💕 Hearts!! I thank Him for a loving Savior Jesus who wants our hearts Have a blessed day in His Presence ❤️
Saul's conversion is amazing and perfectly timed. His story offers us so much hope for the people in the world today who do not know God. He went from.... "Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples." Acts 9:1 NIV to "So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord." Acts 9:28 NIV I love the stories of unbelievers coming to God. C.S. Lewis's is one that I want to read more about. God gives us these people and their remarkable faith after conversion as hope for the people in our lives who do not know God. God is faithful. God, help us to remember to pray continually for the unbelievers. God, help us allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives and through us as a beautiful example to unbelievers. Thank you, God. You are good.
Yes and amen! I love all that you wrote. We will continue to keep them in prayer and trust that God has the final word! It is God who speaks and the Holy Spirit who will move in our loved ones… even though it’s tough, the toughest, to sit by and wait! I love the C S Lewis, Lee Strobel, Paul stories. They give me hope that even the hardest of hearts can be turned by God and used for so much good in His kingdom!
@@AnchoredinHIM Thank you for sharing. I will look up Lee Strobel because I am not familiar with him. God is working in our lives. He is working in the lives of our loved ones and in the lives of so many people all over the world. I pray we have patience and trust in His perfect plan.

He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he presented her to them alive.” Acts of the Apostles 9:40-41 NLT This is my God shot for today however, in a bit of a more unique way. This verse my God shot for today because it reminds me of myself, and how I used to be a spiritually dead person. In the story, I am the one being raised from the dead and God and my family are the ones raising me from the dead. To elaborate for parts of my life I was very spiritually dead and away from God and those were some of the darkest times of my life, however, people in my family were able to lead me back to God (raise me from the dead) and heal me. Today, I pray that we can all learn to not only help others that may be spiritually dead, but to remember and be grateful for our relationship with God as not everyone has one. God bless all y’all today. ✝️💪
Beautiful! I resonate with this as well. When I was in dark despair, I was turned away from God. When I look to Him, I find not only reprieve from depression but JOY in knowing all God has done for me! I started a gratitude Journal today after more than a month of God nudging me to note what is good in life every day. I am grateful God keeps seeking after us!
@ this is so beautiful to hear, gratitude is one of the best ways to reflect on God’s past blessing and also allows us to appreciate the ones to come, I pray for you 💪✝️
To those asking about "when" to honor the Sabbath and to those disagreeing about what food we as Christians should or should not consume, let's remember that to try and debate right or wrong in these laws is legalism - it's what the pharisees did. None of us are capable of keeping the law. It's out of love for God that we "try" to obey it but we will always fall short in one way or another so we shouldn't get caught up in when to honor the sabbath or whether or not it's "wrong" to eat bacon and whatnot. Love God, love people. What day you choose to rest and whether you consume what is considered unclean under Judaic law has no bearing on that. In Galatians 2:15-16, Paul writes: "We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ." Don't get caught up in "Should I?" "Can I?" All God requires of us is faith. Works do not justify. THAT BEING SAID, Romans 14:14 does say this: "I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean." So, when it does come to what you yourself want to practice to honor God, that is between you and the Lord. But understand that it does NOT bring salvation. Hope this helps someone who may be struggling. I know I've been there before.
@@genniferburns6643 Amen! We can praise God for all the good we do. It is the Holy Spirt guiding us. May we continue to follow the lead of God's Holy Spirit in our lives!
I listen to the Bible recap every day through Google podcasts, which doesn't let me rate the podcast (silly Google) (I did report this feedback to Google), but I wanted to jump on TH-cam (which I have, but don't use often) so that people can see in the algorithm how amazing it is. Look, I don't care what denomination you are or if you are a Christian or not. I mean, I do care, but what I'm getting at is that the Bible recap is a great resource to help you learn the Bible and listen to it/read it daily. How else are you going to learn about it? Random tiktok stuff? Whatever! You need to actually get into the Word! I don't agree with everything Tara Leigh says, and I don't agree 100% with anyone, but the Word is the Word. It does not go void. Use The Bible Recap as a resource to learn more about God and listen to Him. You won't be disappointed.
Throughout the gospels we come to know Peter’s stubborn zeal. He gives up everything to follow Jesus. Like all Jews he is looking for a messiah to save Israel and so doesn’t get Jesus or His message to the point that he denies Jesus three times. John 21 tells us that Jesus reminds Peter of this after His resurrection asking Peter if he Loves Him three times and at Peter’s affirmation remind him to feed Jesus’ sheep. So I kind of imagine things happening in threes for Peter is God’s way of showing Peter His will, the food three times in the vision, three messengers from Cornelius who had a vision three days before at three in the afternoon. So I imagine Peter looking up to heaven saying OK Lord I get it. Then Peter proclaims the good news and of course mentions Jesus death and resurrection after three days.
Acts 10:34b-35, "God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right." This is such good news for us Gentiles! God gives forgiveness of sins through Jesus to everyone who believes in Him (Acts 10:43).
A basis of these stories is the fear of the Lord and obeying His word. When Jesus confronts Saul, he is thunderstruck, and must learn all he must suffer for Christ. Then he obeys and preaches the irrefutable proof of Jesus’ Messiahship. Then Peter is corrected and his eyes are open to the gospel that makes all people clean. Cornelius is a God fearing Roman soldier and obeys the vision by summoning Peter. When we fear God and obey Him, He transforms us and sets us free to be able to draw near to Him as never before!
God pursued us so that He can open our eyes to see Him, Himself. Jesus said to the Pharisees that they are blind guides, and that they are blind because they think they can see. And we saw Jesus open the eyes of Bartimaeus, and the first thing he saw was Jesus, Himself. Now, for the first time in the Bible, God hunts down an oppressor and reveals Himself directly to him, in person. It may be that the blinding light Paul experienced was Jesus Himself, and we can read modern accounts of hundreds of people who have returned from Near Death Experiences who describe Jesus as exuding blinding light and love. Cornelius also has a vision of an angel in bright, dazzling clothes, and Cornelius and his family are recognized by Peter as clean and holy. When we pray each day, “Show me something new about You I haven’t seen before,” we’re asking the Lord to open our eyes to His character, His very person, so that we can continue to live out our calling as a clean and holy people.
In the story of Saul’s conversation, when he returned to Jerusalem the disciples there didn’t believe in his conversion. It was great that Barnabas was there to bring Saul into the Community. How often are we like the disciples who push new converts away, hold them at arms length? We need to be like Barnabas, who will encourage and bring them into community. Challenges are ahead of us and we can face them better when we know there are prayer warriors on our side, when we know that fellow believers are there to listen and encourage 🙏🏽🕊️😇
Wow - started late so on catch up but so this was so timely as spent 1 and a half pleading/ trying to reason and got to share the full gospel with my brother 2 days ago, who afterwards said to my wife ‘I’m not sure why he (as in me) bothers’ and my wife by Gods grace was able to reinforce because he loves you and wants you to go to heaven. But I’m not looking for a decision from him as much as I’d have loved that 😢 as it’s God who does the work of salvation only. Someone reminded me of Corinthians ‘For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God’ prayer for the lost, for prodigals (2 daughters who are not born again also) and everyone who listens to Tara’s summary that God will break any strongholds, false pretences, arguments against the Truth in the minds of non believers. Amen
My God shot was in Acts 9:2-3. Saul was going after those who belonged to "the Way." Vs 3 tells us he was going "his way." There is only one way... John 14:6-"I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me." It's a beautiful picture of us as believers leaving our way to follow "The Way" to eternal life.
My God shot: God, through Jesus, makes a way for all to be saved. Not one person in the world sins are so egregious that they cannot be saved, except what Jesus said , which is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. A few things I learned: don't call what God has made unclean; which tells me to call out only the sin and not the person doing it (them again Paula says in 1 Cor 5:12 who am I to judge those outside of the church as that's God's job), give the gospel, and keep it moving. Speaking in tongues is not what is being presented by some in the body which means to me stick to God's word and keep it moving. Peter loved denying the Lord in three's. Saul's conversion had nothing to do with the difference in his names.
Acts of the Apostles 9:1 NLT [1] Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest. [3] As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. [4] He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” [5] “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! [6] Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” [10] Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord!” he replied. [11] The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now. [12] I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.” [15] But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. [16] And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.” [17] So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
If Saul wanted to kill the Lord's followers and God could move his heart so drastically, what hope I have for the people in my life who are morally sound, fair, and givers but who do not know and believe Jesus died for their sins. God gives us so much hope in this passage! Thank you, Jesus!
If the commandments are still in force…why are the majority of Christians not still worshipping on the seventh day? The fourth commandment even says…Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, it’s like God knew we would forget the true day He commanded to keep holy.
That’s a good question. It’s deception in the church. I do personally still follow the Sabbath on Saturday, as commanded. That was changed many years later. Nothing in the Bible tells us that had changed.
Sometimes it becomes easy to do what everyone else is doing. In this journey through the Bible, we see several times where the Israelite just followed the crowd. Few take the time to actually study 📖 and seek for what GOD truly says in His Word. They pick and choose passages to fit their beliefs. When one don’t understand the WHOLE Bible, one doesn’t see the full character of GOD. The prayers we pray before we reach each reading - I find powerful. I want to do thing GOD’S way. I want to thank Him for His Love and Salvation by fully following Him. I pray 🙏🏽 that as we all journey together, we all can learn together and listen to the Holy Spirit as she guides us through the Words of the Bible.
I personally believe, that in Jesus, who fulfilled the Law and the Prophets, we are called to be holy as He is holy and as such, everyday we should seek to be set apart to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. I personally believe that we honor the resurrection of our Lord and Savior when we gather in community to worship Him on Sunday, representing Him and His resurrection for our eternal life through Him.
@@jackietheg8025 but can you find that change documented in scripture? The Sabbath was given by God at creation by sanctifying the 7th day and made it holy and God rested, presented again in the 10 commandments written in stone by Gods finger with the word “REMEMBER”, Jesus kept the Sabbath, the disciples kept the Sabbath after Jesus rose…what changed? who changed it?? Why would God add the word REMEMBER to the 4th commandment. Just something to think about…
@@maigallop After His Resurrection, Sunday was held sacred as the Lord's day in remembrance of His Resurrection on that day (see Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2). From that time on, His followers observed the first day of the week as their Sabbath. The Roman emperor Constantine I, a convert to Christianity, introduced the first civil legislation concerning Sunday in 321. To be in keeping with Christians he had observed, he decreed that all work should cease on that day, in order to observe the Sabbath because at that time, it was considered a workday.
I have to respectfully disagree with the meaning of Peters vision. In verse 10:28, Peter explains exactly what the vision meant, and it was not about food at all. In verse 10:34, he also relays that God is no respecter of persons, which the vision taught him. Just wanted to share my understanding of the passage.
Yes @faithjolene244 you are correct that 10:28 and 10:34 explains. “ Peter began to speak: "Now I truly understand that God doesn't show favoritism, 35 but in every nation the person who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ -he is Lord of all.” Then the Holy Spirit was poured out on the believing Gentiles and they did not have to convert to Judaism - this is the main point of not only Acts 9 and 10 but also extremely key in understanding the rest of the New Testament (especially Romans) and Christianity as a whole 😊
@faithjolene244 Glad you brought this up. I tried to step back and see if this vision was about diet. I had a hard time seeing that. We have Cornelius having this vision. He is told to see Peter. Peter is such a staunch Jew that has strong prejudices against the Gentiles. GOD/Christ had to use strong illustration that Peter would understand. As Peter was hungry - it would make sense that a vision about food would be the one that would drive the point HOME. He had the vision 3 times because 3 men were at the door for him with a request that went against the grain of his own being. To break down this barrier, he needed a knock on the head. So Peter’s response in vs. 28 & 34-35, Peter is given clarity in what GOD was trying to say to him. Non-religious scientists are now seeing the benefits the GOD has pointed out in diet. There seemed to be a reason why certain foods were considered “unclean”. What we eat is not a salvation issue, but it was something GOD shared because he wants His people to be healthy. I don’t think that plan has changed.
@faithjolene244 I completely agree with you. This verse is commonly taken out of context and misunderstood. It's important to read the entire text to get a better view of the picture and the point. We must be attentive, as we dig into the word of God so as not to be led astray.
TLC, can you show me where in the word the 3 different types of laws are referenced? I’m struggling to find it. I’ve found a ton of articles and pastors saying it, but none referencing scriptures backing it. Seems like Catholicism and making up some of their own laws…
Acts 10 with the sheet coming down, was not referencing to literally kill and eat. If taking the entire chapter in account, rather than a singular verse, it’s referencing loving the unclean people. The gentiles. The men knocking at the door sent by Cornelius is just a random part of the story? No. While I get wanting to eat pork and other unclean foods because it taste good, it’s still unclean. The laws didn’t disappear at the crucifixion sacrifice. Sacrifices did as the perfect one was finally made. I know it’s not our favorite word, but science actually backs up the uncleanliness of hog, reptiles, unsealed fish, etc. We have to be better than picking and choosing scriptures that fit our modern day narrative.
I object to the characterization of Paul as "half-Jew, half-Roman." Paul will later say that he was born a Roman citizen. That doesn't mean he was half-Roman since we know Roman citizenship could be purchased. I've always learned that he probably inherited his citizenship from an ancestor who likely paid for it, like the Roman commander to whom Paul reveals this information in Acts 22:26. He tells us in various places that he was a "Pharisee of the Pharisees," a "Hebrew of the Hebrews," and "a Pharisee of the strictest sect." I find it unlikely that he would be able to say these things if his mother was Roman (as she would have to be since we know his father was of the tribe of Benjamin Philippians 3:5).
The meaning is NOT that God is declairing ALL foods edible. The meaning is found in 10:28, "God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean." Peter was perplexed in 10:17 as to what the meaning of the vision was. And in verse 19 he is still reflecting on the vision. The meaning is stated clearly in 10:28. Too many people have made the meaning of the vision to be something other than what the passage reveals itself.
In the context the message is about people, not food. The message was that the gospel is available to all people, jew and gentile alike. Praise God! So thankful God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for ALL!
Moral laws such as the 10 Commandments- So are you saying that Christians are to remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy as commanded and described in the OT?
Absolutely. The New Testament does not negate God's commandments in the Old Testament. Even the disciples teachings support this as they taught new believers of all the things that were in the OT which backs up Christ's claim as the long awaited Messiah. Even Christ kept the Sabbath.
I am so glad this was mentioned. I did a little digging and found an article called "Argument From Desire Do our desires point to something or nothing?" by Art Lindsley, Ph.D. Senior Fellow, C.S. Lewis Institute. In the article, Art Lindsley writes: "The problem in our lives is not desire, per se, but the fact that we do not passionately desire enough our own satisfaction. Our desires are not too strong, but actually too weak. Lewis says (in my favorite quote): Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased. When we make drink, sex, and ambition our chief desires, we neglect a higher satisfaction, “the infinite joy,” offered us. Only by making things like “drink and sex and ambition” second things can they be rightly enjoyed. Only by placing God first in the proportion that He deserves to be first, can we gain the joy, that deep and eternally abiding joy of knowing Him. The commitment to first things puts in proportion the second things so that we can derive appropriate satisfaction from them. We can enjoy life to the fullest without expecting from this life more satisfaction than it can provide. Rather than mistaking the mud pies for the holiday, we choose the best way to the maximum pleasure. We are “too easily pleased” to be satisfied with less."
Acts 10 when the Gentiles speaking in tongues. Was there anyone interpreting them like in the Old Testament? Reason why I ask is because speaking in tongues is frown upon in church because of the Old Testament rule there I no one to interpret it. I've been praying for an answer and it seems like that was an old testament rule but it no longer applies. If you have been truly given the gift then it's ok. No interpretation needed now. What is y'all's take on this?

God, help us to remember to pray continually for the unbelievers. God, help us allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives and through us as a beautiful example to unbelievers. Thank you, God. You are good.
Amen!
@@AnchoredinHIM Here is the first of what I have found on Lee... Thank you! I'm going to look for his books. "In 2017, Lee’s spiritual journey was depicted in an award-winning motion picture, The Case for Christ, which was shown in theaters around the world. The movie was on Netflix for three years. Lee won national awards for his books The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith, The Case for a Creator, and The Case for Grace. His latest books are The Case for Miracles and The Case for Heaven (September 2021, currently available for pre-order).
The Christian Post named Lee among the top evangelicals who had made an impact in 2017. He was selected as one of the thirty most influential Christian thinkers of the past two millennia in the 2019 book Faith Thinkers, written by Dr. Robert M. Bowman, Jr."
“But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up! He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he presented her to them alive.”
Acts of the Apostles 9:40-41 NLT
This is my God shot for today however, in a bit of a more unique way.

In Galatians 2:15-16, Paul writes: "We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ."
Don't get caught up in "Should I?" "Can I?" All God requires of us is faith. Works do not justify.
THAT BEING SAID, Romans 14:14 does say this: "I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean."
So, when it does come to what you yourself want to practice to honor God, that is between you and the Lord. But understand that it does NOT bring salvation.
Hope this helps someone who may be struggling. I know I've been there before.
Your thoughts are appreciated! Thank you for sharing this.

Love this explanation of the law!
We can see as Peter did, that God’s salvation extend to everyone who believes and accepts Jesus as their savior
God has the final Word
The 3 types of laws really helped me! Thank you!!
Great teaching! Thanks, TLC!
Amen!
Amen
I found the part about the unclean food interesting, and like how she mentioned cs lewis.
God has the final word. Amen. 🙏 Hope for my family. ❤
My God shot was in Acts 9:2-3.
Saul was going after those who belonged to "the Way."
Vs 3 tells us he was going "his way."
There is only one way... John
14:6-"I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me."
It's a beautiful picture of us as believers leaving our way to follow "The Way" to eternal life.

Acts of the Apostles 9:1 NLT
[1] Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers.
[6] Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
[10] Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord!” he replied. [11] The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now. [12] I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.”
[15] But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.
He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ
-he is Lord of all.”
Then the Holy Spirit was poured out on the believing Gentiles and they did not have to convert to Judaism - this is the main point of not only Acts 9 and 10 but also extremely key in understanding the rest of the New Testament (especially Romans) and Christianity as a whole 😊
I agree!
Not about food!
I don’t think this was a “Go Get ur Bacon” invitation🐽
I personally have decided not to eat what Jesus didn’t🧡
@faithjolene244 I completely agree with you. This verse is commonly taken out of context and misunderstood. It's important to read the entire text to get a better view of the picture and the point. We must be attentive, as we dig into the word of God so as not to be led astray.
@@cmconcon I do the same 💜
TLC, can you show me where in the word the 3 different types of laws are referenced?
The meaning is found in 10:28, "God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean."
Peter was perplexed in 10:17 as to what the meaning of the vision was. And in verse 19 he is still reflecting on the vision.
The meaning is stated clearly in 10:28. Too many people have made the meaning of the vision to be something other than what the passage reveals itself.
But isn’t that the same thing? if someone eats bacon, then Peter is telling us not to find that person unclean, right?
In the context the message is about people, not food. The message was that the gospel is available to all people, jew and gentile alike. Praise God! So thankful God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for ALL!
@@omasstories2746 I understand. I’m agreeing it’s about people and people eat. If the Gospel is for everyone, that includes people that eat bacon.
Moral laws such as the 10 Commandments-
So are you saying that Christians are to remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy as commanded and described in the OT?
Yes!
Indeed!
Absolutely. The New Testament does not negate God's commandments in the Old Testament. Even the disciples teachings support this as they taught new believers of all the things that were in the OT which backs up Christ's claim as the long awaited Messiah. Even Christ kept the Sabbath.
CS Lewis...
I am so glad this was mentioned. I did a little digging and found an article called "Argument From Desire Do our desires point to something or nothing?" by Art Lindsley, Ph.D. Senior Fellow, C.S. Lewis Institute. In the article, Art Lindsley writes:
"The problem in our lives is not desire, per se, but the fact that we do not passionately desire enough our own satisfaction. Our desires are not too strong, but actually too weak.
Lewis says (in my favorite quote):
Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak.
God has the final say, my God shot was how Peter began gaining his visions. And becoming one of God’s most devoted follower. God you are where the joy is. 🫶🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽
