#6 circle hook with a 12 inch 80 pound mono leader all day! I take a pair of pliers and intentionally bend the hook to offset it. Throw out some cut shad with a 3-6 oz flat slip weight (depending on current) and finally.... ALWAYS put a bell on the rod and take a nap. NEVER EVER set the hook. The fish will do that for ya. Wake up to the dinner bell. My two cents. Enjoyed the video brother. First time stopping by. God bless. 🐟🐟🐟
Thank you, my friend...Today was the first time I saw one of your videos and I love what you do. I am now going to see if I have any hooks like you described in my tackle box. I will give them a try here in North Carolina!
I like a misquote hook for small baits they are sharp and u ever miss a hook set but if the drag not set they will bend quick hard to beat a wisker seeker octopus hook or a triple threat for big cut baits
I prefer a properly snelled bent eye circle hook and get a great hook up ratio...but....with that being said, I always tell people to use what you have confidence in. Also, I know you're not promoting in this video but have you used the Hookers terminal tackle hooks? I love them.
Great stuff. I am a little confused. One hook had a 90-degree bend on the point of the hook. The other had a straight point on the hook. Does the bend of the point matter? Would a bent eye plus a bend on thw point work well?
I am not sure about the point of the hook itself. Its more of a traditional circle hook when its pointed in more. The bent eye pictures were examples and not perfect copies.
Very helpful video. Almost turned it off when you started petting the cat

Good luck! Hope it helps you catch more fish!
I have always used Kahle hooks, exclusively. Never has been a problem for me.
4/0 minium size, but I only fish for eaters ...16-20 inches
Good info
Thanks
Your cat is freakin cool Billy !
I’ve switched to Whisker Seeker Triple Threats for all methods.
I used to use J hooks under a bobber.
I would give a brand with a straight eye a try someday!
Great video as always Billy, keep up good work.

Billy what about off set hooks? What’s your take on them?
I have not used them enough to give an opinion. Some people like them offset. Some states don't allow them in certain situations (Florida).
You never said what that design hook is called!
There is no real name for it I know of. Each company calls it something different.
Anybody watching this that’s younger than 40 has probably never seen a pop top.
