Carla Tibbs there definitely some error in the explanation there. I think they meant they still use the fin as the meat but also requires other meats to enchance the flavour like chicken etc, otherwise the fin's meat alone is rather bland.

There is no such thing as humane slaughter. Male chickens are ground up alive. Spent dairy cows are sent to slaughter while pregnant. Chicks are debeaked without anesthetics because they go crazy and peck each other. Same for piglets, standard practice is to pull their teeth, cut their tails and rip out their testicle - again without anesthetics. Baby cows are separated from their mothers so the milk can go to humans that shouldn't drink another's species mother milk in the first place. Male calves will be slaughtered for veal. All this is completely unnecessary. Regulations only help people to feel better about it, not the actual animal. Until people stop seeing animals as a commodity, things won't really change.

@@SirGoofyparrotfish not common at all, a large amount have been poached in South African waters. Once that's all gone the Chinese mafia will start to look at Australian and NZ waters. Pretty easy in SA as lots of criminals willing to risk their lives, diving out the shell fish.

Like any animal, you need to moderate your portions. Like hunting any animal. Also, if you plan on hunting an animal, you need to use ALL of it's meat.
Ugh, seeing all those fins splayed out and knowing that a number of sharks are sinking to to bottom of the sea, finless, makes me sick. I expected to see more comments hating sharks like in the rattlesnake video, but most people seem to be on the same page here!
