  • Mrs. Peel, we're needed!
The Avengers is a cult classic TV show but quality releases for the US market have been few and far between. While the Emma Peel era episodes have a large cult following and several home media releases, the episodes preceding and following that era have been less widely available.
Thanks to StudioCanal and ImprintTV, we now have the Tara King Collection- featuring the final season of the show and several interesting bonus items. Today, we take a detailed look at the packaging and some of the more interesting bonuses.
    Do you like The Avengers?
** The two Cathy Gale episodes included are "Warlock" and "Bullseye." "Mr. Teddy Bear" is not one of the included episodes. Sorry for the error! **

Thank you, Mrs. Peel. (I mean, Mr. Chiesa...)

Thank you for this. I just discovered the release of the Australian blu-ray Tara King collection, & though the advertising claims region free coding means it works on US players, I was anxious about whether the discs truly play without issue. It's reassuring to hear there were no playback problems. I look forward to seeing these excellent episodes in their restored glory. The original home video vhs & dvd releases of years ago seemed a little ragged, as the transfers were made using complete but well-worn prints at that time. I'd like to have seen a comparison of on screen still images or video showcasing the improvements of the new edition, compared to older releases, but I understand that this was an unboxing video, not a quality review, & I appreciate the walk through!

You're welcome! I was worried too when I bought it but so far everything has worked just fine on US Blu-ray players. Sadly, I don't have any of the old A&E DVD releases of these episodes to do comparisons. I guess I'll never need to get them either! LOL Thanks for the great comment and I hope you enjoy this set if you get it.
And just for the record, the new Cathy Gale set is Region 4 DVD and won't work on US machines.
