99.9% of dream theater songs are do-able on a 5 string though, the only reason to need a 6 string is in the top frets of the C string which are rarely used, everything else can be written around on the G string
That might be the best bass cover in the history of bass covers. Absolutely crushing. You leave jaws on the floor. Your right hand should be in the Smithsonian. That was truly beautiful to watch and listen to.

im probably late, it is playable on 4 string an octave higher, and also back then when i used to play it, i would alternate between two and three a lot.
@@TheSuperdude60 to 100% play it, it is impossible on a 4 string unless you use thicker gauges and weird tunings. I'd recommend getting a 5 or 6 string for Dream Theater songs. As for the playing itself, it is playable with 2 fingers if you practice your speed, but you can use 3 if it's more comfortable for the faster bits.
