Empire is great for a mono faction archer only because crossbows can become your shielded frontline, archers with 2 quivers and quite fast for footmen for kiting, and horse archers for... Something. I usually use them as "higher sighted" archers, then as cavalry chargers into the enemy archers

Anyone know how to fix disobeying troops? I'm defending a castle with 360 against 900 and with my troops i should able to win but my troops keep breaking formation one by one and charging the enemy alone chewing my numbers down
I love most of bannerlord and whatever gaps need filled in for the game there's mods for it but this one issue kills siege defenses for me i press every command and nothing makes them come back to formation once the break off they are as good as dead
I’ve never heard of or seen this in several hours of bannerlord. The only thing I can think of is your troops are in line formation. When in line they will walk out of formation to attack, then walk back to their original location once the enemy is dealt with. If this is what is happening, put your troops in shield wall and they will stand their ground. Usually I put a division in shield wall and then have a second line of shock infantry in line formation. That allows the shield wall to decelerate and lock the enemy in place while my badass shock troops walk into them wielding two handed weapons.

How do you zoom out when preparing the formations? My game seems to restrict that to a narrow view
I don't know? Are you on console? mine is just the center mouse roller...
If on console, I believe it's the left and right bumper
L1 Zooms in R1 Zooms out and holds L2 and moves the left stick to Pan the camera. The right stick turns the camera just like you'd expect.
