    OMG same thing is happening down in South Africa. I'm in my 20s and not so long ago I just had a presence of mind to start sleeping earlier as early as 8pm even, and even down to 7pm and 6pm. The key is to sleep as soon as the darkness of night begins to cover the land; evening, and to wake up as soon as the light of morning begins to cover the land; dawn.

      @@doncorleone3901 Well thanks for pointing out the typo. I mean 12 am not 12 pm.
      Also I would request you to not assume that anyone who is not going to sleep early is a child and being a trouble and burden to their parents. In my case, firstly I’m not a child, I have graduated and I’m a doctor now. Even in med school and then due to work and studies, I often have to stay up way past 12am. I usually would finish my revisions at around 4am or 5 am before exams in med school, take a 2-3 hour nap and then get up in the morning to give exams. On holidays I wake up later at 9am or sometimes 10am. During my medical internship I’ve given 36hr shift duties including whole night shifts as a doctor.
      So my habit of late to bed, late to rise still persists. It is actually detrimental to my health because of which my parents still scold me and ask me to change my study sleep schedule because no matter how old I am or what profession I have, I’m still their kid and this irregular sleep schedule will probably have harmful effects in the long run. I’ve tried changing my study schedule but its not so easy and my productivity is low in early morning hours. During work days there is no sleep schedule at all. Here in India we junior doctors do 36 to 48 hr continuous shifts without sleep.
      I hope you would be not so quick to judge others prior to any information about them.

Now am free. Worst yet, I don't get up before 8:30 AM anymore , so my rest is sufficient for my system. Once up, i work my ass like ma mama needs a jet. Like there's a lot of change and shift that has taken place in the world in the past few years... the world has been upended so much and even though the pandemic has ended, the uncertainty and fear that accompanied it, persists. So sleep feels like a safe activity. It makes me feel less exposed to the vagaries of the world. That's been my personal experience, maybe it's the same reason for other 20 year olds as well.

    I wonder if going to bed means sleeping :). In Australia we have daylight savings in most states, mostly the southern ones. Unfortunately this means rural children have to get up in the dark and go to bed in daylight. This is brought about by greedy city people with no care for rural communities, as long as they get to eat and party.

    I'm 47 and I ve always been a morning person. I m damn sleepy at 10 pm. My friends have called me a villager when I was in mid 20s.
    It's not that I haven't parties up to 1 am. But say about 90% I slept at around 10 pm. 5 am is the bowel movement and an auto alarm.

    In my younger days, At 9 PM I would take a shower and go to Club. Now i sleep at 1130 PM and sleep only 6 hrs, but I sleep like a baby. But my younger daughter goes to bed at 2 am, so what is the story comes from? It is myth that we need 8 hrs sleep. One size does not fit all.

    • @hello2ability
      @hello2ability 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry to say this but your younger daughter would have health consequences at a later stage for unhealthy habits of today. The problem is nobody admits that they have health issues today because of bad habits in the past. And so it appears nothing is wrong if people believe on anecdotes. However, scientific research and evidences show a different truth.

    This is full circle -- We have been saying this since ages -- In BHARAT people use to sleep at 9 PM for ages and get up early hours calles BRAHMI MUHRAT ( very clean air fresh air high level of oxygen ) .. Then shifted to 10 and tnen to 12 Mid night -- Night life is covered for last 30 years -- Now we are back to 9 PM -- earth is round for some reason -- Now that US tells this BHARAT will catch up as it will be trend here .. Next in line would be House spouse concept one person in the family working for JOB and another supporting the family up bringing .. Then traditional marriages against love marriage and then traditional HONEY MOON which we call PRASTA in South India which is a function with HOMA . Procreation is purpose of marriage and not recreation -- Imagine we all born out of act of procreation and if there is less procreation and TFR falls below 2.1 world wil collapse as happening in Japan -- No CHILDREN -- NO JAPAN is famous statement there .. Purpose of life is changing -- This is written 5000 years back in VEDAs what is purpose of life - people are moving towards that
