  • In the plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico, bright pops of color appear from both the gorgeous August flowers and the paintings, textiles, jewelry, and sculptures on display at rows of booths. Every piece has been created by an indigenous artist who has perfected their craft for years before showcasing their work to a panel of judges and massive crowds from around the world. If you've never been to SWAIA/Santa Fe Indian Market, it's a once a year celebration of indigenous creativity and excellence. We pre-gamed Friday night in Albuquerque at Shy Summer Market, a small collection of indigenous artists, musicians, and food vendors--many of whom were going to be at SWAIA the next day. Then on Saturday, we boarded a train and headed north to Santa Fe to join the throngs of people. So much to see and do! Join us as we meet up with old friends and meet new ones at SWAIA 2023.

He saw a triangle ufo over Windowrock…and my father watched three ufos over a mesa in Tuba City in the 80’s. We seen many ufos while living on the Rez. Saw a big one over Sawmill. And saw a ufo land outside Lukachukai.

Yeah sure believe in your work. A lot of criticism is within the native art community it self. Nepotism is there and how other artists except you in their world. It shouldn't be that way but its there. Everyone is cordial in all but the competition for popularity is more profound then the art work.
