    No duh guy, people can't afford as much.Funny how all these experts say inflation is coming down when I don't remember paying 5 dollars for a loaf of bread.

      I don't pay $5 for bread, where do you shop? People are buying stuff, look at earnings. They are also working. If you work and get paid more, you will buy more stuff. Inflation is ALWAYS there, it is about how much it goes up, so far, people are managing it pretty well. The longer the FED waits to lower interest rates, the better the economy is, but eventually lowering interest rates will happen, it is all about the data. Imagine, when the FED starts lowering interest rates, companies will do better and expect better earnings, hence you will see higher stock prices. If Nvidia is doing well now, imagine how well they will be doing as interest rates come down? This goes for any company, either public or not.

      You have to look for sales and shop smart using apps or you will continue to pay the max

      Lmao wtf. Ever heard of Walmart loafs? They were a $1 during pandemic, probably $1.50 now.

    Never eat out any longer. It's just not worth it in CA when it costs 25 for a hamburger combo. There s no enjoyment in being taken advantage of. Done with it. They went too far.

    In Oregon I went back to college in 2020, it was just doable then, since then I’ve had to pick up two jobs while still in school. My days are 12 hour plus on one meal, I eat a hash brown, a piece of toast, two pieces of sausage, and an egg. That costs me $2.43 to make, if I want a glass of milk I’m at about $3. That’s all I can afford as the cost of school and everything has gone up around me but the aid hasn’t moved a bit. I have three weeks left in my degree, I hope to find a good full time job so I can get groceries.
    Edit: as a student my school told me if I apply for food stamps it would negatively impact my financial aid so I have not.

    When a taco used to be $1.00 4-5 years ago, is now close to $2.50. And the size and quality hasn't gotten any better. 🤬 Not worth eating out!

    All is well, All is well. Markets to the moon. This guy is great getting interviewed, its been elevated (rather than going up), it is not coming down. January inflation was bad - but hey it was only "noisy numbers". Things are bad, not getting better. Highest in 30 years - just remember that fact. Gas in my state is now 3.49 per gallon. Enjoy.

      Where I am it is 3.15, but as we see that goes up and down wildly. Gas prices were much higher in 2022, when inflation was at 9%.

    It seems that it’s not food, it’s mostly service labor. There’s still cheaper food basics you can get from grocery store (of course not everything) but you can shop decently on a budget. I have a fam of 4 (two grade schoolers). We shop at discount grocer, buy almost no processed food, sticking to basics, (meat, eggs milk produce (seasonal) store brand breads) we try to bulk freeze when we can. Our grocery bill is around $350 a month. Downside is we have very few “snacks” or treats around the house.
    Anyway yes, everything is going up in price, food is NOT an exception, but labor costs are increasing by so many degrees that you’d think inflation was 200% not 3-6%

    I like how the talking heads have been saying that inflation is subsiding....after they take out food, energy and rent in the marketbasket.

    • @ryann8348
      @ryann8348 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Food and energy have been making headline CPI/PCE lower than Core CPI/PCE. Rent is indeed pushing CPI/PCE (especially CPI) higher.
