Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I feel like I found your channel just at the right time. Last year I graduated with a master's degree in theoretical linguistics and I started working as a research assistant at the university. I wanted to apply for PhD positions, and I though that doing research and working in academia is what I want and this is my dream job despite how stressed I was ALL the time. I was anxious about everything - how people perceive me, whether I said something that I was not "smart enough", I was constantly scared of people perceiving me as not good enough. After a miserable few moths in this job I realized that I can't do this anymore and this lifestyle and level of competition is just killing me and makes me very unhappy. I decided to drop academia, and find a job that actually makes me happy. In the back of my head I had a though about 5 years "wasted" on studying the field that I don't work to work with anymore. I realized quickly that these years were not wasted, but they made me realized who I am and what I want to do with my life, and even better what I definitely do not want to do - chase a career in which I have to constantly proof myself for no reason.
In the meantime, I started working as an assistant in the kindergarten, and I started teaching. It made me so happy to be around children and young adults. I'm not an artist, not creator but working with children allows me to use my imagination, be in the moment, and allows me to be myself and share my empathy with others. I'm doing very well and I appreciate all amazing things that life offers me everyday. I work less, have more time to do what I love. I have less money but I have everything I need and I'm so happy that I realized that I don't need more.
Looking forward to more of your videos, greetings from Northern Norway (not exactly summer here yet, but I'm looking forward to it even more!!)

I don't think society still defines success by the metrics you mentioned in the video anymore.
Most people already know that shit is shallow/superficial, but rather, it's a thing of who looks like they have their shit together or who seems like they have all of life figured out.
That's probably why people look up to others like Hamza or other self-improvement youtubers, not because they want material success.
Instead, they want to be sold a path of life they can follow and the hopes and dreams that come with it.

Our generation is in charge of changing the way we live and the way we think, exactly by doing what you do, and this responsibility is a chance but comes with some drawbacks indeed

I was just the other day thinking that skills should be way more valued than yeah having a lamborghini that some other guy designed and built. Basically just leaning into other guys' creations and flexing with them. How silly.. Doesn't even take you far. It might feel nice for a couple of days and then the feeling is gone, but if you built that lamborghini yourself you'd remember it forever and the process path and experience for when you build it would remain in you.

im at a crossroad, should i buy a farm, or a car and watch and just camp out at campsites -- you would get to see more different farm terrain. Is there more fulfilment in owning a farm vs visiting ones. The thing is you can visit farms for months in australia, but i dont know about america. Anyway, it's hard to figure it out which one i'm fueled by.

There’s a balance to all of it. You should find happiness in your current situation, but I believe at the same time you should strive for more. Strive for the better you. Strive for the best you. Become the best version of yourself.
But don’t let that cloud your mind and block you from seeing and appreciating what you have in the moment.
Be happy with what you have, but strive for greatness.
