  • I review and compare the Li Ning AxForce 80, Li Ning Tectonic 9 and Li Ning Aeronaut 9000C (9000 Combat) high end badminton rackets used by professionals Chen Long, Yuta Watanabe, Srikanth Kidambi, Jonathan Christie and Ong Yew Sin.
    The Li Ning AxForce 80 and Tectonic 9 are predominantly singles badminton rackets that are head heavy and possesses lots of power. The Aeronaut 9000 Combat is widely used as a doubles badminton racket as it's supposed to be faster and more consistent.
    Which is your favourite Li Ning badminton racket?

      Can you do a video where you can cross two of your videos. 1 Yonex ultimate power series which includes 100zz 99pro 88dpro zforce vs the recent lining video where you have tectonic9, aeronaut9000c and ax. Can you compare all these rackets and put the in a series. That will be one hell of a video. Love from India

      @CKYew I think I speak for all if you do a 'similar rackets' video across the brands 'Yonex', 'Victor' and 'Lining'. For example which Lining/ Victor racket is most similar to Astrox 100zz and which Yonex/ Lining racket is similar to Victor Thruster Ryuga, with key differences and your opinion on which one is better?

    Totally agree with you regarding the timing issue with the Axeforce 80. Even after 10 hours of playtime with it, I still occasionally flopped on timing for relatively easy shots like a lob. My suspicion is its sweet spot is actually smaller than we think it is and it punishes off-centered shots rather harshly. It's odd that Chen Long would switch to this racket from his N55, because they are quite different in many aspects.

    Hi, a great review. I specially like how you compared each racket feel with Yonex rackets. Now I know procuring rackets is difficult, as you are not a sponsored guy. But maybe make video on top 5 doubles rackets including multiple manufactures i.e Yonex, lining and victor. And if possible select rackets which are easy to play with and not consider 100zz due to its extra stiff shaft and for eg AXForce 80 from this video due it's playability issues. If it's not possible, it's not an issue I still like your content ☺️😜

    • @CKYew
      @CKYew  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As i've not tested all the recent top end rackets from all major manufacturers, i dont want to make recommendations just based on specs as I dont think that's right. Once I've tested enough rackets, those comparisons will come 👍

    • @jwoste6014
      @jwoste6014 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How a racket feels is mostly down to personal preferences. The AXF80 is imo a very easy racket to use if you are used to flexible-medium flexible rackets and I had more problems with the AN9000C and Tectonic 9.
      Best is to try the racket yourself if possible, as a review by any other player than yourself won't automatically apply to your individual stroke style and timing preferences.

    Nice review mate. Really liked your roundups on Yonex' lineup but haven't been really interested in these rackets so I didn't comment until now^^
    On a sidenote, isn't it a bit unfair to compare 4U rackets with a 3U racket? ;D
    I actually have all three of these rackets in 3U and I just wanted to share some info/personal experiences on these rackets (obviously dependent on personal preferences):
    1. AXF80: Loved that from the first second and did not struggle with the timing at all. I am certain being used to Yonex' stiffer shafts made adjusting way harder for you than for me who has been using rather flexible LN rackets for years now.
    2. Tectonic 9: Had a hard time on the contrary adjusting to this one, just not used to that stiffness... It is actually 2g heavier than the AXF80 and carries way more headweight (more than any other racket I own including other headheavy options such as the Tectonic 7C, N55 or N90-2 despite having a lower Balance Point). It was the slowest of this trio imo but the stiffness is probably the closest the current LN range of rackets comes to Yonex^^
    3. Aeronaut 9000C: Having measured all 3 rackets with pretty much the same grip setup, this one is even heavier than the Tectonic 9 is second in line when it comes to headweight, beating the afformentioned (probably due to the general weight and the added bulk of the Airstream system). If you keep the crazy headweight and overall weight in mind, I would say this racket actually is quite fast and beats out both the AXF80 and T9 in 3U (I guess the Airstream system does its job there, but hard to tell without having a 9000C without the Airstream vents for direct comparison).
    Also, these square grommets can be bought from Asia. If I recall correctly, they should be (or at least were) available to purchase via the e1981 or shopnings website (have ordered several times from both and both are highly reliable). You probably won't even need to buy these square grommets any time soon, as they are really high quality and last for ages^^
    Keep up the good work and I hope to see some more LN stuff (maybe shoes too?) in the future💪

    thanks for the great reviews CK!
    it is the AXForce 80 for me. playing with it for about 8 months.
    i have both 4U and 5U
    and I play well with the 5U and it is also my preferred choice
    I noticed that the high end models comes along with the 5U recently
    firstly i think the mass market likes the 5U version, and personally I dont think there is any loss of power
    this 5U racket generates one of the fastest swing (for me), and good smashes
    the sound of hitting the sweet spot is incredible and addictive
    but it is all about personal suitability and the like factor
    current players using the AXForce 80 : Chen Long, Yuta Watanabe, Srikanth Kidambi and Pusarla Venkata Sindhu
    cheers !

    Nice review, 9000c vs 88d vs 100zz review would be great!
    I have the 9000i (and 88d) and besides the weight it's quite comparable with 88d (2nd gen).
    Though 5u, it has chonky head heaviness to it ~315-320mm which helps with the racket speed.
    Stick smashes are deadly and very easy to creat massive angles. I found ultimate power is lacking but anything that's below 80% power is on point. Being very honest, I find giving 88d 110% and on target is quite hard to get consistently because the flex.
    The 9000i is more solid than the 88d which I prefer. If there was a stiffer version of the 88d or 4u version of 9000i (possibly the 9000c?? ) would probably be my ideal preference.
    PS don't forget you can string these to 30lbs! Paint on it is much much more durable than yonex!

    • @JLneonhug
      @JLneonhug 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Going to go full geek now since I'm starting it, the 88d has (my opinion) non linear flex, there is a step in the shaft and different flex in the head. I can't quite tell what this is but as you increase power the timing changes. I find it unstable or harder to snap at shots 'freely', really need to think about it beforehand. Obviously it is me not used to the racket but a year on I can still feel there is a learning curve to this flex.
