This is a smart man for being prepared, he has battery powered tolls and solar panels and stored water which is very important at this time. Everyone should think seriously about being self-preparedness for any natural disaster. He is very smart and optimistic person, his outlook on life and his ability to prosper is very good, unfortunately not everyone thinks that way. I wish him the best of luck in all his endeavors also for all others affected with this setback, with perseverance everyone will progress. Prayers and Blessing to one and all.

Solid interview Mr. Lennox Lampkin. The "monetization" of the ash really needs to be looked into before it is "gone with the wind" and the rain. All the best to the farmers in these times. We will bounce back - let it be wiser.

Total admiration for this gentleman and his innovative skills; I wish him well in the future and sincerely hope that the volcano would soon comply with the desires and wishes of all Vincentians who have been drastically dislocated as a consequence of this eruption. I can empathize with him in the way he feels about the government's handling of the situation but truth be told, the government was primarily concerned with the safety of the people and yes, they may have over-reacted in some ways but at the end of the day, if they had not instituted certain measures and people had died as a result, everyone in the Caribbean and the international community also would have been critical of them.

    The Caribbean Tourism planners,
    Education planners,
    Energy planners,
    Water Authority
    Agricultural planners
    Health officials
    IT officials
Can learn from this gentleman how to integrate and benefit from the linkages in the above sectors. It is unfortunate, that Caribbean decision makers continue to over look their well trained citizens with expertise in various fields ,that could help develop their countries.Rather they look to paying unnecessary expensive consultancy fees ,for foreign entities to come and tell them what their local expertise already know.We did the same thing in Cricket and now lament the loss of that indigenous knowledge.

Maybe Mr Lampkin can organize eco-tourism to his farm in the future. There is a lot of people want to acquire some hands-on experience in farming or want to help out the locals in a sustainable way. Eating from the land and getting some education, and have a dip in the sea every once and a while. #youaredoingwell

Where will you live while there , he’s not into. B&Bs or hotel camping sites , that’s too much to take on, too many people and avenues to go down, Lennard is a hands on man, with a very busy daily life, yet wonderful, strangers would just cause issues along the line, as humans do. You could perhaps, open up a hotel and invite Lennard to seminars, and (the people who come to learn from Lenard could stay in your flats, apartments or shacks or hotel, house, cafes restaurants , whatever you decide to setup)to talk about his way of living on and Off Nature, then he can get on with his life, without the bother of dealing with the needs of the tourist/holidaymaker workers.

    • @amerie1987
      @amerie1987 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@cosmopolitanwonder9675 what you do not know about these eco tourists, that they are mostly self sustainable, they do not arrive in droves and care about their eco-footprint. Given that Mr Lampkin lived in Europe he would be familiar with this concept. For every challenge there are solutions, if you can readjust your angle.

I hope St Vincent has a dozen of this invaluable, knowledgeable and brilliant farmer to encourage and support other farmers, the populace as a whole. So, the volcano could be a blessing. I was not surprised when this farmer detailed the many resources could be generated from the volcanic ashes. When I saw ashes on the ground I was wondering in what ways it could benefit us. Suddenly, he named them.🇯🇲👍🏽❤️ I just love to hear the interactions between these men.

Thank you Mr. Lampkin for the wisdom you have imparted. I didn't understand why my avocado is not bearing as much and to be honest I am not seeing much pollinators in my area. I will be planting zinnias etc. Also after the first ash fall I looked at my trees and thought I should have pruned prior to the eruption as well this is indeed useful information to be passed on for generations to come.

suggestion: bagging that ash up and selling it for top dollar to other farmers across the world.(some of those holland connections)
as real farmers know, fresh volcanic ash can be very beneficial nutrients for plants. As a matter of fact some famers swear by it's usage.
It will take a decade or so for the land to process that ash, I would suggest setting up a sprinkler system with reverse osmosis water and flooding the farm every day for a few weeks to help the ground take it in.
prayers and blessings to all the good people who are blessed to make something out of nothing.
all praises to THE CREATOR everlasting.

Quite impressed by this man common sense and knowledge! Unfortunately most of the younger generation doesn’t see farming as an attractive avenue for earning a living. Farmers feed the nation and are often overlooked for their invaluable contribution to nation building until there’s a crisis of this magnitude. I hope he advises the government in some capacity. His knowledge is too much to simply be kept to himself. Maybe he should offer himself for national office..

We in the Caribbean can never see the value of the resources around us. We would go and cheaply sell or give away that Ash to international people, then buy back the same product from them at a high price. Consumer mind set. The Lord sent us a gift although in a tragic . We need to capitalise on all events.

We look for professionalism in public videos, too much repetition that shows a lack of structure. Pruning trees is a general process of tree care so it won't be an issue if ash didn't fall. I look for us to use the ash wisely as a free product. our manner is too often, as the Prime Minister says, a complaining industry... The water system is shut down to protect it so ash doesn't get in and plug things. Let us check what we say and be real, positive and productive. God bless.
