The recruters are goingbto be the best commanders until synchros. Stardust pass was good in the tcg and being able to just use a tuner as your commander will guarantee that it's consistent.
That’s a really great observation. I think once we get to dark armed dragon format too then Armageddon knight could be an great commander to manipulate the number of darks and set up Mali and plague
could use some clarity on how your commander rules work with regards to effects like that of Lava Golem... after all, I could see a rules lawyer trying to make the case that the additional tribute for a second instance of summoning LG should clearly be an opposing monster, same as the other tributes
Well we havent decided if you can summon stuff like golem from the command zone at all yet. Still gotta make that decision, should be reached in a future episode. Its hard to decide honestly. That said the additional tribute would still be yours, you're paying a tax to perform the summon of the monster, not adding a tribute to its summon
@@MercenaryPen oh i was wondering if it was like a deckmaster where it dying is just an auto loss condition lol, i haven't heard of this format before just now so
I was wondering how your commander rules work with "return to hand" effects, since in MTG, if a commander going back to the command zone is up to the owner whenever that commander is changing zones (ex: Hand to Graveyard, Field to Deck, Graveyard to exile, etc...). This rule mean that it is usually not a big deal to send a commander back to the hand, since it can be replayed without paying the commander's tax. But it looks like you chose to "force" the commander to go to the command zone whenever it leaves the field, so I'm interested to hear what was your reasoning behind this decision ^^
I think ignoring the tax is a lot more impactful in yugioh than mtg, especially for stuff later that wants to be in the GY like tearlaments etc. We didn't want the command zone to end up functionally being identical to the card starting in your hand. Early on it also makes cards like spirit monsters crazy, yata garasu for example as a commander basically just is it starts in your hand and *never* gains the tax, so you just got to guaranteed have it every game. And if they do out it, you can bring it back for 1 tribute and keep looping it
I think I recall Gage making the exact mistake of thinking Newdoria was a zombie in season 2.
Glad to see Nova upgraded his card frame, it's looking good

@kassygo1375 Yea, in fact tele-dad might be unstoppable in a format of one off cards.
well, you have to pull DAD for that to matter

lol so if you summon lava golem to someone else's field, and then they just tribute it for a regular summon or something, do you instantly lose ? hhh
@@Envy_May hardly, you've still tributed away two of their monsters to summon it... and that can be more powerful than the burn effect

Fun format :)
These are my fav videos! Love em! Newdoria as a commander could go hard!
