Coming back to the violin after nearly 20 years of playing consistently. This is my first song and I appreciate you going at a pace I can keep up with. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

So glad it was helpful and that you returned to your violin! I'm sorry for the long delay, as I've been away from TH-cam for a while. Best to you.

I love listening to this several times just as I’m about to start my day. There’s something about it that fills me with energy, excitement & hopefulness.

Absolutely. I feel the same way. It's a gorgeous piece in D major - very hopeful, yet grand and confident. Simple, yet resplendent. The beginning is my favorite. The middle section is light and playful with changing moods, but it really needs the piano part for the listener to appreciate the conversation. Thank you for sharing! Best...

Beautiful performance, yet I have one question. I’m a young violinist and I’m learning this song, how do you do such effortless and beautiful vibrato on the extremely high f sharp on the e string? I’m struggling with making my fourth finger vibrato sound as great as my other fingers.

I'm sorry for the long delayed response. I used to struggle with my pinky vibrato too... as well as my 1st finger. If you're able to learn both wrist and arm vibrato, sometimes the uncooperative finger has better success with one more than the other. Usually it's a matter of tension. If you can get some flexibility and strength, it should improve. Please have a look at my vibrato videos for exercises. Thank you so much for commenting. Best to you.

Thank you so much. Yes, actually this piece carries special memories for me, too, as I used to watch Brian Lewis perform this in concert at music festivals as a youth. Such a beautiful piece. Best to you!
