Missal pav is famous of Pune & Kolhapur only.. also Kothimbir vadi is like side dish or snacks made with dhaniya and besan.. Vada is vada of normal VadaPav.. if you really want to test Malvani thali you have to come in Malvan, Kokan.. Solkadhi is made up of Kokam or Ratamba mix with coconut milk and other spices.. but Kokam Sarbat is made with kokam juice with water, suger & top with jeera powder.. Puran Poli is famous Maharashtrain sweet dish it's healthy & tasty also.. you can eat Puran Poli with milk and ghee.. once in a year we made it on Holi festival as a main sweet dish for godess Holika.. Modak is also famous dish of Maharashtra.. it's god Ganesh ji's favourite food made with rice flour and stuff with coconut, jaggery sweet mixture.. they are fried or steamed and eat with ghee..

Puranpoli is cooked chana dal stuffing inside chapati. Its same as stuffed paratha but with sweet filling inside 😊

That sweet thing after thali was Malvani Khaja. Its quite popular in parts of goa and Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Its made by coating sticks made of maida and some spices with Jaggery black seasme seeds and ginger paste. Its one of the main sweet dish in local fairs in south Konkan and Goa.
In marathi potato is called batata, hence 'batata vada'

@@anildolase2498 Thane Mumbai Pune Navi Mumbai are different part of Metro city Mumbai for administrative purposes but culturally all parts are not different. You can travel in 2 to 3 hours to Pune from Mumbai. People from Dombivali and suburb far away travel to main city for jobs daily.
Misal Pav is more famous in kolhapur and Pune you should try there if you visit there.
And in North India specially in Delhi people eat chole bhature in breakfast and in Maharashtra most of people eat Vada pav and misal Pav and misal Pav is slightly spicy 🪄🪄
Pune is the place where you get more authentic maharashtrian food.

Misal pav spice level varies depending on the version..Kolhapuri is teekha, Puneri is not, Mumbai is medium.
Kothimbir = dhania
Kothimbir vadi = dhania + besan -> steamed like a dhokla and then shallow-fried
Solkadhi = kokam soaked in coconut milk and served cold

The masala that you were eating with the vada is known as GUNPOWDER and it is masala made with coconut powder and red chili powder and other spices as well

Its not Gun Powder. Gun powder is South Indian masala where as in Maharashtra they use Dry Garlic Chutney which is made of Red Chilies, garlic Roasted Dal/ Peanuts but in Mumbai instead of using these they use fried Besan Boondi.

I ate Misal Pao in a restaurant in Bangalore and it had a boiling water, turmeric powder and salt along with a pao. It's very costly also.
