I’d absolutely recommend people use the patreon site - Tim’s content is some of the best around and the access to tabs + early access for me is incredible value for money. Great playing again Tim - excited to learn this one although I’m still only about half way through luttrell 🤣

I also wanna say that you shouldn't push yourself that much and please take your time when making these videos because your health and comfort is a priority. once more i appreciate your videos so so much and if you could i have a request for a song that maybe you could make a video on and its guitar boogie (please take your time with it because it seems pretty difficult, but i know you can do it) I've been playing guitar for a year now and your lesson on "a song for a rainy morning" motivated so much and i learned it from your video. I wanna learn every song you upload because you're master of the guitar.

Thanks so much for that kind comment! When I said "I like to take my time" I meant mostly to get the music 100% right. It is very kind of you to care, but rest assured: I would never put my health at risk (although my baby son is keeping me from my necessary hours of sleep these days 😜)!
And it is a pleasure to hear that the video of 'Song For a Rainy Morning' really worked for you! When I started going the tutorials I was really afraid that no one would find them (or even worse, find them and then not like them)!
Guitar Boogie has been requested a few times already, but the main problem with that song is that there is a lot of improvisation going on, and every single version is wildly different. Maybe we should do a poll on the "definitive" version once the channel grows a bit more, and then stick to that for the tutorial?

I really like Preston Reed! I used to play some of his songs (Ladies Night is a real stomper) but the alternate tunings make it harder to pick up your guitar and quickly play one. Right now I'm sticking to TE songs, but other acoustic work is already being planned. And both of your artist suggestions will be featured too!

Hey tim. I've been enjoying ur tutorials for a while now. after basically finishing angelina, im currently learning ur song for a rainy day tutorial. Its really nice to have a channel or content creator like urself who listens to the suggestions to the comments. Please continue ur work. That's a great compliment, thanks for that! Songs from other artists are definitely something for the future, but some family complications currently limit my time so heavily that I have to stick to songs (and a style) I know really well!

Tommy Emmanuel actually has a tutorial for that song. It's not explained to the very last detail but if you watch closely what he does you can pick it up pretty easily

I have never played Haba na Haba so I'll have to look into it. But I love that you're bringing up I've Always Thought Of You. For years that was the first thing I would play when I picked up an acoustic. I absolutely love that song... but I don't know if that tutorial would be watched, since it's an older (and probably lesser known) song... You are the very first bringing this title up!
@@TimVanRoy Actually i didnt see any full tutorial for this song (I've always thought of you) so you can be first, like when you did lewis and clark and your subscribes have option to see a "new one song" they didnt hear before. For example i didnt know Angelina but when i saw your new tutorial with that song I've just checked and I've fallen in love with that song.

Thanks. Mostly 12's! I only use heavier strings when I have to tune lower...
Sound great!! How to record?
I like to keep it as simple as possible: two mics a bit apart for a stereo image, straight into Logic Pro X. I only use a little EQ (mostly cutting the bass frequencies), a bit of compression and as little reverb as needed (exceptions are slower songs, they have a lot of it). All plug-ins are the stock Logic Pro X ones!
Was the video footage from several takes? There are some rhythmic slaps I hear but cannot see you make.
Yes! I do not have enough cameras to record all of these angles in one take, so I have to play along a few times with the track. But on the other hand: some of the rhythmic slaps in this song are a much smaller movement than you'd expect. I'll explain that part in full in the tutorial!

Thanks! I use 12-gauge Elixir strings on my standard tuned acoustics. Lower tunings usually are done with a 13-gauge set...
