As a kid I grew up in Wisconsin. That was over a half century ago now. All farms had cows and all you had to do was stop at a farm with a container and you could buy fresh milk from them. It was great! Now with all the dairy farms gone legislatures have made it almost impossible to buy fresh milk. It is actually against the law in many areas. More laws in place to control us and benefit large corporations.

Raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized to kill harmful bacteria. Raw milk can be contaminated with harmful germs that can make you very sick. In fact, raw milk is one of the riskiest foods. People who get sick from raw milk might have many days of diarrhea, stomach cramping, and vomiting.

I can't drink store milk. Never could.
But I can drink raw milk straight out of the cow easy-peasy
I had 0 problems with digesting dairy when I lived on the farm. When we got the milk straight from the cow? But when I moved to California. I developed a lot of issues with dairy brains, and sugar.
Omg, the infamous dairy brain!
Think you meant grains?!
Please stop it. You get every disease from the cow it get. Including worms and bacteria.
The issue with raw milk is contamination from cow shit, not that there is anything bad in the raw milk. Raw milk is delicious. If you milk the cow, it's great. It becomes an issue when it's industrialized and facilities aren't kept sanitary.
Which I feel like they all forget
It's not actually cow feces that's the problem. It's mastitis.
Sometimes cows get infections in their udders from trauma or microbes & that contaminates the milk.
Because of modern milking practices
one cow can contaminate the whole vat. It's still a major problem in dairy farming today & is the leading cause of economic loss for the farmer.
@@IvyMay-qn2ys the udders definitely get feces on them at times and, if not cleaned properly, can be a problem. Mastitis is also a major issue.
Of course these are only issues with large scale milk production. A small farm that has two or three milk cows will make sure the udders are clean and that if a cow has mastitis, they will milk it and toss the milk. In other words, if you have a cow yourself, or know and trust the small farm milking, you should be perfectly safe drinking raw milk. I know a guy that sells his raw milk as “pet milk” because of all the regulation but everyone who buys it is drinking it themselves (not actually giving it to their pets).
@@jayspenc76a small farm can be negligent about hygiene, just the same as a large factory farm can. Also, just the same the cow can have mastitis and it’s not noticed by the milker, so you do take a risk drinking raw milk, it might not be a great risk but it’s still a risk.
Is there a way to test the milk before selling it?

The pasteurization process is what enables you to have a giant dairy farm in Wisconsin that ships milk to NYC and LA. Smaller local farms and businesses get put out of business this way in almost every industry.
Pasteurization also kills any bacteria that may be in the milk.

Raw milk is just fine, until it’s not. The reason we pasteurize milk is because we got tired of people dying from bacterial infections. If the dairy is immaculately clean, has healthy cows and takes all necessary precautions then raw milk is healthy, but they only have to mess up or cut corners once for someone to get sick.
Actually, more people get sick from pasteurized milk than raw milk in this country… Raw milk is regulated state to state and safe to drink when bought from a store and often also straight from a farmer.
Far far far more people get sick from contaminated eggs, spinach, Romain lettuce, cantaloupe…
A few years ago, there was an egg contamination on the East Coast from one farmer who produced eggs into 14 different states, millions and millions of eggs. People got sick. There was not regulation set up that would shut him down and so it continued. Didn’t much make the news.
Meanwhile, in California, there are two very large raw milk producers, who had a decade ago, each shut down their production because they were self testing and found a contamination. Not one person got sick from it and the cost of shutting down and reopening properly is astronomical. They do it for the safety of their customers, but not that damn egg farmer on the East Coast! Selfish bastard, and nobody cares about that.

ngl. I began drinking raw milk for the first time 4 days ago. Since then, I had 3 bowel movements. The 3rd, was unlike any I could ever remember in my life! The amount of shit was ungodly.
To see any weight loss benefits, I weighed myself before consumption and was 173lbs. After than last dump, I weighed in a 167. During this time I ate like normal (carnivore) and didn't so any training or exercise. I began searching around and found out this can be normal, one lady lost seven pounds from shittin' within a few days of consuming raw milk as well. As far as gut health, I don't got sibo or any autoimmune issues, just an unhealthy gut from years of SAD diet. Also, my carnivore journey was just started too, a month in. Anyway, raw milk is the truth. I feel like I never need to eat or drink water whenever I have at it. I have been using smaller amounts 1 cup a day. I heard people guzzle this by the gallons. Did research and found the government used to raid raw milk farmers years ago. That's fucked up. Convinced me that if the suits raiding farms, then it's obviously a threat.
where did you get your raw mill from? I'm in California, los angeles and there is claravale raw goat and cow milk at the local market as well as raw farm brand raw milk. I'm just wondering how different it is if you get it from an actual farm. I've watched videos on TH-cam of people who own farms and collect milk from the farm and the raw milk still looks different from the raw milk I get from the store. Trying to see if I can get some healing done with raw milk, but I want the raw milk to be of high quality. Maybe I'll have to find the closest dairy farm and drive over there myself.

@@ikorn2 It’s not a TH-cam trend. Most old farmers never pasteurized their milk. The ones that did were actually dairies and it was required by the government. I’ve been milking cows for 40 years and my father and grandfather before that. I’ve been drinking raw milk since I was an infant. I was adopted and couldn’t drink formula so raw cow milk it was. We’ve never pasteurized milk. This year was the first year the state allowed us to sell raw milk. We since have sold hundreds of gallons of milk with not one person getting sick. The only way raw milk can be bad is if your cow has TB. Everyone selling raw milk has their cow tested for TB. Anything else about raw milk that can make you sick didn’t come from the raw milk but was introduced in the milking process or in the bottling. The same as bad bacteria can be introduced in pasteurized milk. Raw milk unlike pasteurized milk never goes bad it just changes. I can leave my milk on the counter for a week changing it to clabbered milk or kefir and eat it with a spoon or stir it up and drink it. Try that with pasteurized milk provided you could stand to eat it and you’ll either be hanging your head over the toilet or a trip to the ER. I don't think the definition of "RAW milk" is very clear here. Because the person off camera said (if I'm not mistaken) "but I don't hear the french dying.." (the end was inaudible to me as a non-native english speaker). French people don't drink RAW milk. In europe we drink pasteurised milk. And I've been on farms buying milk and the milk there has also been pasteurised before they drink it or sell it, which basically just means it has been heated on very high heat to kill off bacteria, which makes it safe to drink. So I don't know what they mean by us drinking "raw milk". I mean maybe we have less hormones in ours or whatever you put into your cows, but other than that I don't think it's the milk that made the US one of the fattest countries in the world.

It’s when they package of transported and sell it days later issue pasteurization started to prevent spoilage and illness related to it… So if you get it directly from the farm directly from the cow and timely manner is probably fine. It’s when you start trying to collect transport and sell it in large quantities it becomes an issue, large amount of milk is rejected for use, and it is heated and then use cheese or other purposes once they kill the bacteria in it
Raw milk doesnt spoil...pasteurized does. Raw milk just loses sweetness and ferments.

Love raw milk !
It might taste better (arguable and subjective) but it is objectively a higher risk than pasteurised because of the bacteria in it.
We used to bring it up to a boil just to make sure ✌️😁
Then you kill most of the good bacteria.
Then it's not raw anymore it's pasteurized and you killed all the beneficial bacteria
So apparently, one of the major risks of raw milk is tuberculosis, which is why pasteurization is a thing. A little research never hurt. Nobody actually helps a lot of people.😉
One hundred years ago refrigeration was the issue, that's OLD propaganda. Watch your "sources" you've been duped.
G. To many British people it comes as a surprise that the French, who are so particular about food quality and taste, tend to buy UHT, as opposed to fresh, milk. It is hard to pin down one reason but the difference exists - a 2007 study found that 95.5% of milk consumed here was UHT, compared to 8.4% in the UK

Raw milk is basically buttermilk
Pasteurization makes the milk last longer and safer to drink , i wish raw was available, i used to drink alot of it, the worst part of commercial milk is homogenization

I will say that I like the idea of raw milk. However drinking raw milk from your own farm, you are already exposed and use to those bacteria from your cattle. Raw Milk, I’d regulated and tested for disease, could be beneficial. For now, I’m sticking to pasteurized milk 🥛. It’s a great source of protein.
Pasteurized milk is gross af and everything essential has been heated out of existence. Raw milk does have “disease” it can just get contaminated during the process of packaging it just like any other raw food ever. There’s already local farmers across the country with clean practices. It’s fine dude
pasturized milk doesn’t have good protien , the paturisation process changes the structure of the protien and makes it weaker , raw milk is very safe to drink , more cases on illnesses from pasturized milk compare to raw milk , have less chance of getting sick from raw milk than the average food , so if your ok now you’ll be ok with raw milk , raw milk prob on of the safest foods based of of studies , just make sure you get your milk from a good source , you want to aim for grass and pasture fed A2 dairy raw milk , some peoples raw milk are acc safer to drink than pasturized
You are absolutely wrong.
@@Steve-eh6qv well studies must be wrong then cause that’s what i’m going off 🤷🏼♂️
@@Steve-eh6qv and please explain how i’m wrong
Sell it at prices we would pay for it, sell it nearby, we'd be regular. That's half gallons no high than $5 a gallon. It's too high here. $8 BS
Seriously, I live in the NYC metro area and they charge like five bucks for a pint, not even pasteurized heavy cream is that expensive
Well, no, Joe, some people who develped animal husbandry decided to try drinking the milk of their lactating livestock, and some didn't.
Not the beginning of time. Only up until 10 thousand years ago. When we developed agriculture at the end of the last ice age
Joe Rogan is honestly the goat. Glad a podcaster as big and famous as him has such based opinions.
For real man ❤
@bjvtyy I wouldn't say so. Such as?
@bjvtyysounds like you have a conspiracy theory?
Do you salt your milk? Because you have to take everything Joe Conspiracy Rogan says with a grain of salt.
My new favorite is goat butter. It’s freaking GOOD. There’s absolutely nothing offensive about it. Also high in mct oils. I recommend.
I wonder why raw milk would be easier to digest. Would think any sort of processing would break it down.
