Sepatutnya boleh menang set pertama bila dah pegang set point dua kali iaitu 14-12 dan 16-14 tetapi juara bertahan Hariyanto Arbi dari Indonesia gagal ambil kesempatan.Kegagalannya membolehkan jaguh Denmark Poul Erik Hoyer Larsen ambil kesempatan untuk menyamakan kedudukan 14-14 dan akhirnya menang 17-16. Diset kedua nampak Arbi dah hilang fokus dan tumpuan dan kalah 15-6. Bukan sahaja Arbi gagal pertahankan kejuaraan tetapi tahun itu juara bertahan Susi Susanti yang dah empat kali juarai All England empat kali turut kecundang kepada pemain asal dari China yang mewakili Sweden diseparuh dengan kekalahan straight set. Tidak seperti tahun 1994,Indonesia tahun 1995 hanya menang satu gelaran menerusi ganda putra mereka.

Tahun sebelumnya prestasi dan pencapaian Indonesia sunnguh cemerlang.Malah terdapat empat pemain perseorangan lelaki Indonesia diseparuh akhir All England iaitu pemenang Hariyanto Arbi,naib juara Ardy Wiranata,Hermawan Susanto dan Alan Budi Kusuma. Tetapi pencapaian tersebut tidak dapat diulangi diAll England tahun 1995. Hanya gelaran ganda putra dapat dipertahankan oleh Rexy Manaiky dan Ricky Subagia menewaskan rakan senegara mereka Antonious Arianto dan Denny Kartono. Tetapi malangnya juara bertahan Hariyanto dan Susi Susanti gagal mempertahankan gelaran mereka. Hariyanto,gagal cipta hat-trick kemenangan All England bila ditumbangkan oleh pemain Denmark Poul Erik Hoyer Larsen 17-16,15-6 meskipun dua kali Arbi mendahului dan menuju ke mata kemenangan dalam set pertama. Kegagalan Arbi turut dirasai oleh Susanti bila kalah kepada pemain dari Sweden Lim Xiao Qing dalam separuh akhir. Sepatutnya terjadi All Indonesian final sekali lagi tetapi rakan Arbi Hermawan Susanto kalah dalam pertarungan tiga set 15-5,12-15,18-16 kepada Hoyer Larsen diseparuh akhir.
Marin and TTY would maybe get 5-7 points per set. You can't even compare the speed. It would look actually ridiculous. I think Arbi could still beat both women at the age of 49.

Heryanto Arbi is only 10 years older than Lee Chong Wei, it makes me really hard to believe he would have lost in his prime to somebody who is now number 100 or worse in Malaysia. There have not been a significant evolution in equipment, the rackets used to weight around 90 grams already in the 80:s. Maybe you can define state player better. If it means somebody who is between 10-20 in Malaysia, so then MAYBE yes. Though everybody can watch themselves the tempo which was played in the 90:s. It was very fast already over 20 years ago.

The badminton level right now is not as high as you think it is today. Heryanto Arbi would be one of the Top players no matter the time.

Every woman in top10 would lose to both these guys 15-0, 15-1 or similar. Womens badminton is a different sport. Maybe nowadays women could compete with the men in 1960:s Erland Kopps playing wooden racket.
Even the best single player nowadays have no chance agains them. Athlete doesnt getting better and better but tegnology, light racket, good quality mat, advance shoes etc. With nowadays tegnology they would easier to beat lindan or lcw's ass.
