Sorry for spamming but I have more questions now lol. Are you using the profitec go bottomless portafilter or something different? (Mine looks different). How are you not getting any spritzing while pulling the shot? I've been plagued by all the spritzing and I've yet to find a good technique :(
@andreyv1 Nice vid - I love the way the Profitec is and footprint but had to opt with the Sage Bambino + as its got auto steam for family to use when I'm not around. Also I got SB+ for £262, more than 3 times less than the PGO (£800). Also, how much coffee beans did you use?
Yeah thankfully i went dual boiler SPX. Huge steam boiler and power due to how big it is and I steam alongside brewing. Crank out 5 drinks on average a day
It’s pretty standard for a single boiler. I don’t see a problem with it at all if you’re only steaming one pitcher of milk since in 45 seconds you could clean up and/or prepare the milk. I can only see it as a problem if you plan to switch back and forth between brewing and steaming so that’s for like 3-4 people instead of 1-2.

The boiler does not automatically refill after steaming. You need to turn off the steam and then run water through the grouphead for a few seconds. I usually stop when I'm getting water out of the grouphead instead of steam. The steam wand on this machine is powerful, so although you won't get automatic refill by upgrading, you will likely find the steam wand a bit more robust than the one on the Gaggia.
What is your feelings now a bit later about the machine, specifically steaming? I would be making 1-2 lattes in the morning daily and not sure how much extra wait that would be. Thanks for video!
I still think its great! Only reason I would upgrade is if I wanted to make more milk based drinks. For 1-2 smaller lattes it is great. I usually make cortados or 8 oz latte.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong with my technique on this machine. I can’t get a swirl like that or hearing that loud pitch indicating air going into the milk. My milk always comes out extra thick. Like a cappuccino. Not that it tastes bad, just really trying to get the latte style milk down. All the videos I watch aren’t really helping all that much either.
Make sure you use high quality whole milk and when beginning to steam, let less air into the milk. Lower the frothing tip so it is fully submerged and try to get the swirl going. I didn’t do the best job of showing that in this video, but maybe I can do a video like that in the future.
@@andreyv1 I just got my Profitec Go 1 week ago and so far loving it but been BATTLING to get the milk right.. May i ask what type of milk you are using? I use 2% Dairy maybe that's my issues? Thanks
@@iKustard I always steam with 2% and it's a bit trickier than whole but you definitely can get a good texture out of it. I put it just at/slightly below surface for just a couple of seconds to get some air, then drop it a bit further until it's not injecting air (but no further than necessary to stop the air input), and then the tricky part is getting the angle of the steam wand and pitcher just right so that you have a good whirlpool to break up the bubbles. Most of the time I can do that but once in a while I just can't quite get the angle right and it never builds up to a good whirlpool before the milk reaches temperature.
My wife and I drink a few milk based drinks per week each and don’t mind the wait. If you are hosting people or making them back to back, it would be inconvenient.
Mine doesn't take 2-3 minutes to get to steam temperature after pulling a shot. I hit the button, first purge around 235-240, 10 seconds, second purge, wait till it's around 255, then start steaming. Total maybe around 45 seconds to 1 minute, tops, before I'm actively steaming.

Does the boiler automatically refill on the profitec Go? Currently using a gaggia classic pro but thinking of upgrading to handle milk drinks better
I don't believe it can be plumbed in. I just manually refill the water reservoir

If you don’t want to wait that long for the steam do two 5 second purges with 10 seconds between each purge and you are ready to go

2-3 mins to get to steam temperature feels like a lot, actually. Definitely bad for someone drinking milk based coffee occasionally!
