The fact that putty started so recently is incredibly encouraging.
I really appreciate that you show techniques that may not be your bread and butter just to show us how to do them.

My name is Bruce I've been doing, playing with glass for over 10 years. That's in all the down side is haven't touched or even been involved with glass in last 5 years or so. Well as you know the industry, pieces, the art of glass blowing in general has evolved I believe more in the last 5 years than in all of its long history. I say all that because when I started all those years ago I couldn't find a single glass blower, artist, a single individual who was willing to help, teach, share or even show me how to develop this new found passion which I discovered.. Everything I've learned has and had been self taught. I've just discovered you tube and realizing what all new education is available. I have grown as a very amateur artist even after all these years into a very amateur artist with at least a few real techniques that have completely opened up my imagination along with abilities due to you and your videos.. What your doing and info your giving away no one really understands how valuable and closely guarded the secrets and techniques you've brought to artists across the globe have been for centuries.. So for that I give you my deepest thanks and true gratitude for caring enough about the art to allow others to share in it with you... My question is can a piece that's been annealed and cooled but ends up cracking for what ever reason is that repairable as it is or does it have to be broken and repaired completely.

Hey Bruce, I realize I’m nine freakin years late to reply. I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now, but just curious if you’re still at it and if so, how much you’ve grown since this comment. Take care buddy 🙌🏻

These videos have been incredibly beneficial to my new Adventures on the torch in the local glass shop. I'm able to show up with glass knowledge right out the gate. Even with simple advice like 'watch their hands' was a huge help to me getting technique down. To telling my teacher about some of the tools you use (like the v blade) that he agrees would be quicker cleaner way to go about cutting tubes. Keep up the fun informative videos and I'll keep the views rollin in! Peace and glass.

Hey Revere! I'm having a ton of fun making glass goblets, pendants, different types of cane, bowls, rigs, bongs bubblers etc. I have come so far since my last comment on your videos at the studio here at Hampshire College. This video is amazing! I am pretty sure I have seen all of your videos and I still have not seen you guys drop in a 14mm male downstem for an oil rig. Is this a style you avoid? I have trouble dropping it in cleanly and would love to see a video.
Sorry if I missed a video would love to be pointed the right direction.
Also would love to see what you guys would make to drink beer out of. I have been making squat glass goblets for my home brewed beers but would love to make more like a viking style mug!

Great video!! As always Kevin. Dustin thanks for the new tricks. I just went and tried this after finishing the video. My first attempt came out great. I'm not very skilled at drawing so i kept it simple, and did a Nintendo Star. I got it in the kiln a few min ago! Super stoked. I am curious, I have avoided this style of bail for a while, because i seem to have a ton of trouble getting my blow tube cut into small perfect pieces. Do you have any advice on this Dustin? I noticed yours just came out of nowhere in this video. Lucky for me i had 1 small piece sitting in my station that worked perfect for this one. Great way to end my day, Wouldn't have been possible without you guys. Big thanks to Revere Glass.

  • @Yoshirama

When you broke the disc from the blowpipe: I would have attached a blow-hose to the blowpipe, attached a punty to Jake's face, heated up behind Jake's face while pulling the punty and the blowpipe away from each other while simultaneously blowing in the blowpipe. Ultimately causing a bubble to form and thin out, creating a slightly cleaner break all while saving a bunch of time. Personally.

I LOVE HIM!! I have a glass jewelry maker and I definitely am going to use this. The little tiny bubbles on his face do those stay there or is there a way to remove them?

When working inside out frit does the color get affected if you have a pre mix or a surface mix torch?

I started making critters and beads and such for placement on one hitters and simple spoons, I was wondering how to draw thin lines with stringers without the stringer collecting right away, and without it globbing. Also, how do you avoid beads melting together when making flower patterns or putting them close to each other?
