    I don't wear make up except for lip gloss. What a I do find is I get dry itchy eyes from unscented moisturisers. I contacted one of the companies and they said they add a masking chemical so you can't smell the chemical smell. I also find this happens with sun block.

    Will eyelids absorb lash perms and tints? I know they use a silicone pad glued down to the lid for the lift & dye if having them done together. Does the silicone pad block that or is the glue bad? Also, they don't use anything for the dye, if it's being done on its own w/o the lash perm they just don't go to the lash line.

    I remember using a Christian Dior quad it was limited edition. And almost immediately I ended up with a horrible stye that interfered with my vision. I ended up going to the eye doctor to have it popped. I was left with terrible scar tissue. Now that eye has been ultra sensitive to product and light ever since. This was in the 80's. It was either the fishscales they were using in satin eye shadows to give the shine back then or the red dye used in shadows back then. But it was the only Dior Quad that infected my eye like that. I had used lots of Dior Quads back then they were my favorite.

I have recently been diagnosed with dry eye which has come after getting my second cataract surgery. This is such a pain to deal with but I am doing what my eye doctor has recommended. But I have found out so much more information buy researching it myself?

      Thank you so much for this video! We need more!!!
      I’m guessing those are the mascaras sold as “volumizing.” I’ve been using those ever since they came out decades ago. I hope I don’t have fibers imbedded in the skin of the insides of my eyelids, or in the surface of my eye. Would they be visible? Would they be the same color as the mascara? As in dark brown sharp pieces in the whites of the eye?
      Maybe that’s why my eyes feel scratchy when I blink if I don’t have artificial tears in? Or is it just two dry surfaces rubbing together?
      I never experienced dry eye until I had a bad cataract surgery. My doctor used a laser to shatter my natural lens and remove the pieces through a tiny hole. Then she “injected” a new folded lens into the pocket. It was supposed to unfold, but it only did that partially. She couldn’t leave it in like that, so she had to cut it up into pieces and remove them through the hole, which she had to enlarge. Then she inserted a back-up lens that unfolded properly. The whole procedure took over an hour, and the drainage system of my eye was badly damaged, and that’s how I got glaucoma. I changed doctors, and the new one was disturbed because the other doctor had not put stents in after inserting the new lens. I had another surgery for hydrastent (sp?) with him. My headaches went away, but I still have the glaucoma and painful dry eye. He told me that no one who was up to date used the laser method for cataract surgery anymore. I’m thinking I was definitely referred to the wrong surgeon by my ophthalmologist of 30 years who had retired from surgery. The new doctor did the cataract surgery on my other eye and it went perfectly.
      Thanks again for this video. I love your channel.

    I have a couple of questions. 10 You were talking about growth on wet products. Would old fashioned cake mascara be safer? Also, early in the video you showed the eye lid with the make that had been absorbed up into the skin...is it possible to get rid of that? How would you know if you had that?

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In that regard, I would say cake mascara may be less likely to grow microorganisms. The makeup stick in the eyelid may not need to be removed but could theoretically be removed surgically. Otherwise any eye doctor should be able to flip the upper eyelid and observe for stuck makeup in the tissue.

    • @suzanneemerson2625
      @suzanneemerson2625 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem with cake mascara is that it’s water soluble, and if you put in artificial tears or cry a little, it ends up all over your face.
      I would like to know what kind of eye make-up remover she uses? Regular face wash? Pre-moistened pads ?Something antibacterial? Particular brand?
      I think lots of women would really like to have this information.
      I’ve also heard that even if your mascara wand is not empty, you should replace it every 3 months or less because bacteria can grow in it. Does she have any input on that?

      I went to see my ophthalmologist, and when she asked me, “How are you?” I started to cry. I told her how I was feeling, and how scared I was. She said, “Oh, that’s the Combigan. It’s a Beta Blocker. We’ll get you something else.” I was better right away. Cancelled my heart appointments. That’s when I realized how powerful these Rx drugs can be.

    just got diagnosed with blaphritis I visited opthalmologist prescribed eye antibiotic and cream. I notice I have a red patch on eyelid and red eyes, swollen in mornings. I had been using a metalic eye shadow so sure this could be one of the causes. I also noticed that my eyelashes are also non visible and I think blaphritis can cause the color in lashes to change can you address this? Thanks

    I havent been able to wrar makeup in years because it burns the eyes so bad, and actually noticed that i used to have very long eyelashes, but now i cant seem to see any lower lashes at all and the top ones arent anywhere as long as before. What would cause this. Could it be caused by the many styes ive had due to environment like dust?

    This is hard for me to watch because my eye doctor has gotten on my case several times because of my makeup. I have sjogrens and so im already prone to dry irritated eyes.
    He says there is a layer of makeup covering my eye. I tried being more careful in my application when i maneuver around my eyes and even using a fan to blow the powder away as I apply it but when I went back to the eye doctor he said the same thing. So frustrating.

      I can't wear any makeup on my eyes at all, including concealer under them. My eyes get very irritated and bloodshot. I've had to get used to myself without makeup. I would love to be able to wear mascara again but I've tried lots of brands with no luck.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends a little bit, there are procedures where they can burn off vessels but there may be long term health consequences of it. Otherwise treatment of dry eyes can help reduce redness.

    What are your thoughts about permanent eyeliner, aka eyeliner tattoo? Would permanent eyeliner be a safer option than using eye liner on a daily basis?

    • @raraavis7782
      @raraavis7782 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I had that done for this exact same reason and I love it. My eyes get irritated so quickly... anything but a mascara that comes off with a gentle cream wash is a no-no.
      I got a thin, slightly smudged line without a 'flick', top and bottom, so it's more of a 'lash enhancement' visually, than an eyeliner. Couldn't be happier. It makes my eyes 'pop' even with no makeup at all.
      And unlike permanent makeup for eyebrows (I had microblading done twice and was very disappointed, both times), it's very long lasting. I went 4 years, without even considering having it redone. And even then it didn't necessarily need it...but I was about to move and wanted the girl I already knew and trusted to redo it. That was 5 years ago and it hasn't changed in appearance at all since.
      It hurts like hell though, I'll say that. Even with numbing cream. Longest hour of my life.
      And obviously, doing a spot test with the color used a couple days before is a good idea. You do not want an allergic reaction in that area.
      Well, that's my personal experience. Not a medical opinion, of course, but I hope it helps.

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
      Have you had any problem with dry eyes since the procedure?
      Do you think an anti-anxiety med, ie, attivan would help get me through the process? (lol).

      Hey, so my dry eyes are considerably better now - but that's mostly due to me figuring out that dairy was causing me some autoimmune issues. Since I cut out anything made from milk, I've been able to wear contact lenses again, for example. They're still not 'good as new', but then I'm 45 so that can't be expected, I guess. Not wearing any eye make up other than mascara is definitely helpful, though. On the very rare occasion that I do, I definitely notice that my eyes are a bit sore, the next day. So having permanent makeup as a basis, is definitely a good idea.
      And if you have anything that calms you down or painkillers that don't have a blood thinning effect (so no Ibuprofen or Paracetamol) I'd definitely take that 😆.
      I'm lucky enough to be very healthy, so I didn't have anything prescription strength laying around, but I dearly wish I had!

      Thank you so much for your response. It's very helpful . . . especially appreciate your suggestion to get a spot test beforehand to check for allergies. 🙂
