Love your out and about videos and the subject of trying to be less wasteful made it even better. Love you guys and all you do the food looked great too. Love London, born and grew up there and never get tired of seeing it. Wish we could have seen the thrift shops but maybe next time. Looks like you had a great time. Thanks for the video Blue. xxx
Great music. And yes, I think we usually think we can’t control waste when traveling or out and about but it’s amazing what you can do just if it’s top of mind. Thanks for the reminder.
I used to get lunch from Merkamo all the time when I worked at Bishopsgate. They are more than happy to use your container if you bring one with you (and compliment you for it while they’re at it). Love those guys!
Well done guys. Its hard going isn't it? It's better than a couple years ago but I find that some stores, like the food stall offering recyclable items don't have a recycling deposit 🙄 Are they being "in fashion" for sales or is it just a case of it takes time to fully change? Thank you two for trying so hard 🙏It's not easy ❤️
This is what I wondered, too, but I was assured by 2 vendors and the bin men that it would be sent to recycling. Still, even if that were true, it’s best to take my own reusables next time anyway. A good reminder to myself!
Such a lovely spot. Ahh he was so sad when his cup broke (he was really attached to it because it had Frida's teeth marks in it) so I replaced it with a new one that's identical (minus the teeth marks haha).
London is probably the easiest place in UK to do 'zero' waste as it has lots of bulk shops, etc. I honestly can't do it where I live, there are zero bulk shops, but I do my best... Amyway, always inspiring!
I didn’t utilise any of the zero waste shops or specifically sustainable places there. As you can see I made small preparations like making my own food before travelling instead of buying something there and making sure I had reusables on me. This is something you can do anywhere.
I find it way easier to bring a couple of containers that I can fill in my bag. If I need to I can put my shirt rolled up inside or the pair of socks so it doesn't take up as much room. Bringing some hankerchiefs to use as reuseable napkins helps. Bringing a couple of pre-made meals if the train rides are long is another idea. Wish we had trains here in Michigan USA. they are getting them up and ready this year, so instead of a car we can take a train, though it takes longer to get from one point to the other.
I can’t imagine travelling without trains! I don’t drive so public transport is essential and I’m so glad to live somewhere it’s so accessible. Thanks for your tips and feedback!
Great footage and enjoyable content. Nice that you and Peter are partners. He looks a nice easy going chilled out guy. Would be nice if all people were 😃😃😃😃
Great video! I love the vibe of it and all of the ideas. The Vagina Museum looks ace. Such a good idea about putting the remaining tea into your keep cup to take away. It seems so obvious now, but I had never thought of it. A few days ago I had four cups of fresh mint tea because the pot was huge and I didn't want to waste it!
I find that most low-waste tips are actually really simple it’s just about interfering our routines to make the small changes needed to make a big impact. Save your bladder, take a reusable cup 😆
I really enjoy your relaxing vibe. Loved this, I have some travel plans later this year and you gave me some ideas. Dining in to reduce waste- simple and brilliant. I like to buy gifts when I travel, and seeing the little cards in paper, ceramic pot, etc gives me great ideas. The city I’m visiting has some incredible thrift shops. Also, I’ve been really curious- I hope this doesn’t come across as rude because that’s NOT my intention- do you ever wear makeup? If so, I’d like to know what, and if not, I’d love to see your beauty routine- you always look fresh and lovely. Thanks for the video! Digging your channel, as always. Big huge giant love from Kentucky. 🖤 P.S. Awesome hat in the intro. Also, this definitely made me want to visit London.
Sustainability should be simple. It’s all about making small, manageable choices every day. Markets and charity shops are great places for unique and conscious gifts! No, I don’t wear makeup. I don’t like the feeling of it on my skin. I’ll be posting an updated skincare routine soon!
Blue I look forward to that video! I like to wear some makeup, but minimal, like just lipstick and that’s it. However, my skin looks like garbage and its hard to not want to cover it up. I hate the feel of foundation and concealer. I just like a pop of lip color some days. I just need to find a better way to care for my skin. I love this simple and minimal philosophy of sustainability. So much out there in the media suggests buying this or that, perhaps instead of some other this or that. I really appreciate your channel because you always offer ideas for using what you already have, being minimal, keeping an open mind to what’s around your community as resources. Sometimes I feel like environmental lifestyles, at least in media and social media, largely cater to people with disposable income. I often feel like people in poverty are excluded. These simple approaches- use that salsa jar again and again, dine in, learn to sew, etc- are so useful across many kinds of incomes. Whew, I got so windy and I’m sorry but I just wanted to express my frustrations with “eco-media” and my appreciation for your content.
So glad you enjoyed watching it 😊 this cup was actually gifted to me at an event I gave a talk at last year and I believe it’s custom. But you can find similar online!
This video was an eye-opener for me - a reflection of my ignorance of course. Thanks.
Informative videos about zero waste while traveling is always welcome and I think you documented this in an especially beautiful way x
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 this was a new type of video for me so glad to have some feedback on it.

I’m so glad you enjoyed this video 😊 I really enjoyed making it. I’m a born Londoner, too, and it’s always a pleasure to go back for visits.

That’s just it. If it’s on our minds it only takes a few tweaks here and there to make a big difference. Thank you for your comment 🙏🏻
Nice mini haul of goodies. Enjoy
using / wearing them Blue.

Yes, it‘s okay to use our own containers anywhere... we just need to ask! No skin off their nose and if anything it saves them a bit of money.

brilliant video! A great mix of information and art. You have a wonderful eye.
I miss eating at the Black Cat so much :-( Great to see that Peter is still using that reusable cup!!

Hi Blue! Great video: it was so soothing. May I ask: where did you get your white to-go cup?
So glad you enjoyed watching it 😊 this cup was actually gifted to me at an event I gave a talk at last year and I believe it’s custom. But you can find similar online!
Lovely vlog! More of those please, I'm missing your vlogs😊On no you forgot to film the charity shops!!! I feel like I missed out😮
Good to know! More to come :)
thank you for this video! it's more difficult for me too to travel zero waste than to be at home
i'll be sure to visit the vagina museum next time!
Blue we think you guys did very well considering you weren't in your own element. Traveling you never know what to expect or what might come up.👍👍
Thank you 🙏🏻
Those flapjacks look good
You did great!
Will the coffee shop make your drink in your own cup?
Yes, you can always ask for your drinks to be given in your own cup.
I love plant based burgers
I so want to try vegan pizza
Amazing video! also can I have a piece of this pizza? ;)
Absolutely! Have a stop at Purezza next time you’re in town!
I want to live zero waste
