Stating the obvious (maybe), we are our own worst critics. I also think think the mark of a true craftsman is that they are never quite satisfied with their work. There are very few people who would find fault with that fly. I think it is fantastic. It’s hand-crafted so I expect to see some variation from perfection. Well done!
Beautiful Eric, I love doing my own subs and always did my Chatterer and IC subs, but i would love to know about the wing burner ? As i started to use Kingfisher but i absolutely love your Chatterer subs ?
Yeah. Seeing how you did cut the materials right in front and towards the hanging thread all the time made me super nervous, and I just waited for you to cut the thread off with it. That's something that should better not be done. Also, some half hitches in between work steps do help a lot to safe work and avoid the catastrophe. And applying tinsel to an uneven foundation should also be avoided at all costs. Just a few things to improve, but all in all, good work and well saved👍
The simplest is to buy a kingfisher skin and use feather off that. You can dye it a little darker if you want to be more accurate. The feathers have a nice iridescent quality. .
I saw this video many times. it still can bring me more passion about classic salmon flies tying. I'm appreciate it, Tks for sharing with us.
Wow! Gorgeous 😍
Quick subscribed 😄👍

A san juan worm will work just as well.
Better actually. And an egg sac will work better than that.
Is that a dunce´s cap or a fish and chip cone you're wearing? Can I get fries with that...?
What is the best chatterer sub you have come across?
