Reminds me of the mutated Rancor in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, it measures probably 2-3x larger than a standard one and to make it worse it was a 'chase' mission. Absolutely scared the crap out of me as a kid.

I remember my first time fighting these in the force unleashed, it was super terrifying till you got used to it and went from "oh no a rancor" to "Oh no it's another rancor I'll have to kill"

OMG I love that game
What you described about jabba and the rancid was actually untrue, he didn't care about the rancor unlike the tamer who was the only one who did. He had even set up a fight that would of certainly led to it's death so it's trainer had planned to run away with it since he had grown attached and so on, there is other stuff but you get the host the rancor was even starving and malnourished.

Ah, yes, the Rancors. I recall absolutely despising the levels that included them in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy when I was young. Particularly the one with the rather jacked up Bane Rancor that would chase you constantly throughout the level, smashing through walls and the like to reach you. Except for one or two areas, no place was safe enough for you to stop and chill for a moment, as it always had a chance to grab and eat you if you stayed in one place for too long.
Didn't realize Rancors were sentient, though. That's something interesting to keep in mind as to not always recall them as bloodthirsty monsters. A bit hard to think of them like that, though, when they're hunting you down to devour you whole. Anyways, great commentary, good sir. I wish for your continued success and hope you have a fine day.

Starkiller and What's-his-name were in an arena, a gate opened, they got themselves ready, a Rancor came out, and they were like 'Oh, it's just a Rancor. Lol.'
Then it got eaten by some sort of giant Rancor, like the Great White Shark getting eaten by the Mosasaurus in Jurrasic World.
I always love them. Plus they were fun to kill when you play Star Wars Force Unleashed.

I'd love to see a cover of a monster, monsters, or virus from the video game series The Witcher
lol. When i was little i had got the rancor for Christmas. As ugly as it was on screen the toy may have been uglier. It was funny seeing the adults reactions to this thing. When spring came around. Grandpa was running troutlines trying to get some catfish. (Fyi. Troutline is a line from a to b with multiple baited hooks.) My grandmother's brother had come down from ohio so a fish fry was in the works. Being an okie it didn't take much convincing to talk him into going out one of the times to check the line. Having to check it a couple of times at night with a hour or two to kill between. No need to say what usually fills in the gap for people who are 21 and older. Well there checking the line. Uncles holding the light and grandpa says "hand me a hook. Must not have tied this on good". Gets to the next one. "SOB! Hand me another hook! Think something is bitting through the line. Don't know what though hadn't been a beaver around here since my dad was little.". Gets to the next one. "Hey! There is something on this one." As he struggled with it he says "get that light closer" about the time he gets looking over the side. Grandpa falls back in the boat bringing the line with him. The very line that earlier that day he had tied the rancor too. My grandmother's brother ww2 vet 6'5" close to 300lbs. Wasted no time soon as the rancor was in the boat he was in the lake. Almost made it to shore before he realized this monster attack just might not be legit. So there has been at least 1 rancor attack on earth.
