The reason cars have got so complex with electronics is because of this obsession with being environmentally friendly. They have gone crazy in the UK recently to the point that you cannot have any fun anymore. They are adding lots of new requirements to the MOT that stops tuners(people who enjoy cars) from modifying their cars. Now they can fail you if the volume of your exhaust system does not match the factory volume for that particularly car.. so if you want a free flowing exhaust system or you want to decat, forget it! Motorists have NO freedom in the UK anymore. It's a horrible place to own a car, especially if you enjoy modifying cars.

Software Engineers have become accustomed to having the Public Beta Test their work. That is Not OK.
I had a 2004 car that I took to the dealer because of a problem, and it was 2 1/2 days before the computer told them what was wrong. Many years ago, it was more than 15, I think, a woman had her Toyota she was driving go rogue. Nothing she could do could slow or stop it. Eventually Toyota sent a signal to the car so she could stop. I had gone miles at a high rate of speed on a busy highway.

I’ll never buy Toyotas again, I have a hilux, always had hilux’ s… the true is the quality and reliability is a thing of the past. Here in Mozambique a Hilux is 100k dólares
The electronics " Hocas - Pocas ", is part of the manufacturers to their dealerships insensitive program. The service department is what really makes the money to run the dealerships. I know I was Service Manager for one. The pressure was always on.
Just imagine how much cheaper cars could be without the multiple computers they now have to control things like the power windows, power door locks, low brake fluid warning light, etc.. They were cheaper to build, more reliable, and were way less prone to requiring recalls...
To be honest it should come as no surprise. US and Japan and EU has sent manufacturing to China a country where manufacturing is state run and innovations are fed back to the state run entities. The local manufacturers have every incentive to make inferior cars for foreign businesses and every incentive to make better ones for state backed businesses like BYD as ultimately foreign business can up and leave but local entities cannot. This is what these businesses did not seem to suspect when they transferred the process to the lowest bidder but charge top dollar at home.
I would never buy a vehicle where the manufacturer could turn if off remotely. That is a disqualifying capability. If I could turn it off remotely Ok, but anybody else no way.

Hi Scotty, Canada here. My brother is a car mechanic. Learned lots from him. Learned lots from you too. Thanks for the videos.Weird times for sure.😁😁✌️✌️🇨🇦🇨🇦
Tesla... I'd like to think that boycotting their cars would stop makers charging for software.. What happens when they all start doing it? Future isn't looking too great imo😢
1954 chevy at 1800 $ was as good as 80000$ high repair junk of to day!!! if you idiots quit buying them the price would come down. how many recalls 0n cars of the forties or fifties???? I think junk should be one third the price and real warranty!!!
Not saying old cars are bad (they're not) but it's easy to be the best when you've literally bombed your competition out of existence. IMO cars from the 90's thu early 2000's (not after 2010 for sure) were the right amount of tech for dependability/ease of diagnosis. Looks wise they're garbage compared to a '54 but I'd bet the motors last longer, but not the transmissions as they still had whale oil in them back in '54 and that's why you couldn't kill the old trannys.
Seems kinda stupid to create an electric incursion vehicle. How long could you bring it into battle if the battery runs out so quickly? Where would the charging sites be, and how long would you last defending a vehicle that takes hours to charge?

Toyota - (heard of them Scotty?) recalled 102,000 2022-23 Lexus and trucks, 2010 an 8.1 million recall for accelerator sticking etc etc.
so what? 🤷♂
@@twolee7110So Scotty loves Toyota irrationally. That's what.
My mom owned 3 toyota models over the years. Other than normal maintenance she only a couple of minor issues they were very dependable.
Indian owned hotels absolutely suck.I had to stay at one for training in Georgia.Horrible
“They’ve got you by the short and curlies”…Scotty cracks me up😂
When the break goes out just look for a bush to stop it or a wall.
Watch out for a Camry’s ……it’s the driver 😮
Without the electronic break control module how will your fancy scan tool discover the error code for low break fluid?
open break fluid reservoir and dip in the antenna
Use flashlight and your eyes.
Can you address why Tesla Model Y is the #2 highest selling suv in US (after RAV4)?
thanks for the intro... first 4 minutes...excellent 100%
If you need internet while on a cruisr. You are missing the point of a cruise
The electronics " Hocas - Pocas ", is part of the manufacturers to their dealerships insensitive program. The service department is what really makes the money to run the dealerships. I know I was Service Manager for one. The pressure was always on.
Toyota is not that good anymore my sister have Camry with 35 thousand miles and have problems with the water pump
These things can happen to any car. Just so you know they're more common in other brands.
These things can be replaced easily unlike a seized engine
Rev up your seized engines!
🤔
Some of the 2018-19 Camry's had water pump issues. Still solid cars though.
Novel idea open the hood an actually check your fluids every month.
The tire slasher gets a rush (of air) when he does it.😊
Good lord.... Scotty don't ever retire😂
👍🐿👍
The more you share the more we learn.
@6:15 I got the same text message. Instead of saying New Jersey it says Georgia (my resident state). I learned that it was a scam.
Just imagine how much cheaper cars could be without the multiple computers they now have to control things like the power windows, power door locks, low brake fluid warning light, etc..
They were cheaper to build, more reliable, and were way less prone to requiring recalls...
Only thing keeping bailout motors in business is government contracts.
I admire your ability to create quality content! Thank you for your hard work and creativity.🛩🌃🏎
I think the tire slasher owns a tire shop, and is trying to create more business for himself.
The light just went out at the Patel 6! 😂
Their truck commercials always used to make me laugh cuz I would think about home alone like a rock hub marv
GIGO - Garbage In, Garbage Out.
Scotty, are you telling me that the Nigerian Prince I sent $500 for documentation of my $4 million is a scam? How could that be?
5 stages Scotty!
How is low brake fluid a problem on a new vehicle?
I check every fluid and oil every month. I don't care how new it's.
If you didn't buy a car brand because of recalls, no one would be driving any car.
Bring back the old Slant six !!
Boy do I miss the good old fashioned DIP STICK….
Got some of that great GM feeling with genuine GM Junk
Love the horse teeth pics, keep 'em com'in.👍
Tire slasher addiction
scott ive got a question that you probably havent had yet!
for a racing application what would you do differently, worth noting that its not really racing its more just thrashing cars in a field
so far ive swapped to a thicker air filter and an oil with slightly higher temperature tolerance
anything else i can do or is breaking things just innevitable with high rpm operation?
Thanks for the info 😊
Ditch the self driving AI by musk. One for the Gipper!
This sounds like the wort type terminator I have see yet
Um , my question would be why is a new or a 1-2 year old vehicle be having brake problems !
Today it's tire slashing..
Tomorrow it's someone putting oversized caltrops under EV batteries so they get pierced once the vehicle moves forward or backwards and catch fire.
Scared of getting electric car..they weigh too much probably get killed or kill someone else..7000 pound average. No thanks.
Jeep urges 194,000 plug-in hybrid SUV owners to stop charging and park outdoors due to fire risk
nevermind the weight have you seen a battery cacth on fire ? good luck getting out of that deathtrap ....
Newest battery technology from China the car total weight 1.6 ton with Tesla model Y range. They keep changing wait and see.
Know what the NUMBER ONE selling vehicle IN THE WORLD in 2023 was? An EV. I guess all those people aren’t as scared as you.
Motel 6: just remember, ho-tel, pa-tel. That's the way it goes now. They are mostly from a clan in west India.
You'll have a fair idea of when your brake fluid runs out !
Toyotas don't display a low brake fluid light either. These automakers suck.
I don't want a new car. 2011 is borderline for me ❤
When your brake pedal goes to the floor, you know the fluid is low.
Dude probably owns a tire store.... "Slashie's Discount Tires."
Toyota having break issues AGAIN??
Tough break
Yes, $22 a day for what, a couple of hours a day maybe? Those boats hold 2,000 people so can you imagine the loot they are making off of their WiFi/internet connection? If all passengers opted to have on ship internet the boat would pull in $44,000 daily. That is simply back asswards and cruel punishment.
Last names are more regionally associated to people rather than lineage associated to people in india. It would be like if everyone from california got the last name Jackson and people were wondering why there were so many Jacksons from America. Its the same reason why everyone from south india has a J name.
We shouldn’t need a low brake fluid warning period! Check your goddamn fluids!!!
All of these Vehicle Engineers should have to Repair at least 5% of All Vehicle Brands they Designed the Technology in....
The thumbnail is cracking me up and scarring me at the same time... 😆😆😆😅😅😅😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😱💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I worked the Patels 2001 and they were amazing people, for a Days Inn boutique motel in San Diego California
If people checked their fluid levels more often(easy enough) they wouldnt need the vehicle to inform them.
Toyota went woke instead of quality watch Robby Starbuck he has done an excellent video on how bad of a company Toyota truly is.
Japan is finally made to apologize for the holocaust.
I’m surprised Scotty hasn’t talked about the downfall of Tesla. Having one of their cars catch fire in a garage during hurricane Helene. Saltwater is not good for those batteries.
Brother I have a Tesla model 3 thinking about selling it love the car but I question the reliability I bought the car for 42k when I was 18 I’m 22 now the battery went out they replaced a brand new on for free I could sell it for 20k now should I & get 2006 Honda crv 100k miles
If you own the only tire shop in town. You pay some guy $100. to go slash all the tires he can…
The bigger the touch screen the more problems with your car. But you can play on the infotainment while you are broke down.
Maybe the tire slasher is possessed by Lizzy Borden.
Thank you 👍
Car prices should be 15,000😊
Hi Scotty, Canada here. My brother is a car mechanic. Learned lots from him. Learned lots from you too. Thanks for the videos.Weird times for sure.😁😁✌️✌️🇨🇦🇨🇦
If it ain't broke; DON'T FIX IT!!
Tesla... I'd like to think that boycotting their cars would stop makers charging for software.. What happens when they all start doing it? Future isn't looking too great imo😢
Can't it be pirated? Get rid of intellectual property laws. No more Big Pharma. No more Hollywood.
The more complex cars get the more unreliable and expensive to maintain regardless of brand…
If it's not a Corvette or a Cadillac, it's a piece of crap if it has GM on it!
1954 chevy at 1800 $ was as good as 80000$ high repair junk of to day!!! if you idiots quit buying them the price would come down. how many recalls 0n cars of the forties or fifties???? I think junk should be one third the price and real warranty!!!
True
He was hired by the local tire store...drumming up business.
