    Thank you for taking the time to show the plate and how that works. Great review. Many other reviewers skip this. And yet for me it is the most important part. I knew I wanted to add an a Swiss plate. And your review has helped me see I can do that. Thanks.

    Nice review !
    ~ Another feature (that most don't know about) is that the center post can easily be removed and installed upside down, so that the camera is under the tripod, for lower shots to the ground and up-shots.
    ~ I too use the quick plate on top and a also use a Tripod (stone) Hammock to weigh it down when necessary.

    Why can't you do pans and turns as smooth with the Manfrotto Compact Advanced (with 2 handles)?
    I stand between buying the Action or Advanced, for my DSLR, mainly filming, sometimes photos. I only fear the Action 1,5kg limit is a bit low, if you have a heavier lense and general stability, as the Advanced is made for 3 kg, and the action only for 1,5kg.

    • @stefans6557
      @stefans6557 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok, forget it! Now getting the Manfrotto Befree Live (Twist - as I get it cheaper), it has fluid head, etc. - so much better for not much more money.

    • @MamoAir
      @MamoAir  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stefan. Yea, for video I do not recommend either the action or the advanced, you will not be able to achieve smooth shots with those. But I bought a new Manfrotto which is awesome. A bit bigger, but definitely worth it for my videos. Check it here: th-cam.com/video/wRlC8ddKfLo/w-d-xo.html

    • @MamoAir
      @MamoAir  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think this is actually very useful for those into cinematography due to the ball head -ball joint is larger that most similar tripods. Panning would have smooth character that isn’t too perfect in which gives it a fake look. You can use just the handle without holding the legs and is will work similar to a stabilized gimbal where the legs work as a counter weight. I think a friend loaned we one of these one time and I used it just for that. I wouldn’t use it professionally like that but it would stabilize video much better than handheld for sure.

    I do video but also do photography and I feel like this isn't smooth enough to use for pan/tilt etc in video, and not strong enough to hold up my big telephoto wildlife lenses. I want an e-image GH06 fluid head, but also feel like I should be able to get a good camera for photography that just needs to be sturdy without smooth movement for much cheaper... still looking for a good cheap photography head!

    Thinking on using this for a spotting scope...worried about the payload limitation. My spotting scope is 1.1 kg (celestron ultima) and with a mounted celphone adapter + a celphone it adds another 0.5 kg in the eyepiece...little bit over the 1,5kg payload it can hold...shame, it would be perfect tripod if not for that.

    Is there a way of adding a better fluid head to this tripod that’s not too expensive such as the small rig CH 10? From what I understand you seem to be saying that panning with this for a video is a little jittery - if I have understood correctly. Can you advise me as I am not A professional - I am only interested in video. If I have understood correctly could you recommend me for a reasonably priced alternative fluid head that would work with this tripod? Many thanks

    • @MamoAir
      @MamoAir  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello and thanks for the comment.
      You can always add a fluid head on top of the ball head of this gimbal but I would not recommend it.
      If you are only taking videos I would recommend a more solid and probably heavier gimbal. Check the Manfrotto 190x, which Inreviewd on my channel. That has a nice fluid head and it is a serious tripod.

    Hi! great video! quick question: is it possible to take off the head in order for the tripod to fit a travel bag?

    • @MamoAir

      Hi Riccio. Thanks for the comment. In my experience I was not able to remove the head on this tripod. Apparently you can do so with the Manfrotto Befree. You can find a review on my channel. Consider to subscribe for more reviews

    very helpful review. im just wondering about the load capacity. i have a nikon z6 and i need a small, lightwiight tripod for ciy walks. woult this tripod be compatible with extra load?

    • @MamoAir
      @MamoAir  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there. Thanks for the comment. The tripod will be able to hold your Z6. But if you need to load more than that, be mindful. As shown in the video heavier payloads will not be supported well.

    Hi. I'm interested in this tripod, but one thing I haven't been able to find out is the leg base dimensions when not exteneded at all. Are you able to tell me the dimension when standing on unexteneded legs ?
    Is the leg angle lockable, as that could give me a smaller base ?
    I'm looking for something that I can used on a windowsill. This looks too big for that, but maybe I could use a base or shelf of some kind if the overhangs is not too big.

      Hi Ashik. Unfortunately you cannot replace the head on this tripod and I would not really recommend it for moving shots videos and heavier set ups.

    Hi just saw this video. I have this tripod and i'm looking for an l-bracket for the purpose of doing vertical shots but i'm failing to see how an l-bracket can actually be attached to this tripod. Do you have any advice on this?

    • @MamoAir
      @MamoAir  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. Thanks for the comment. I guess you could get a cheese-plate to attach on the tripod and then attach an L-bracket to it? Check the gadgets from Smallrig, they have a lot of stuff there. Hope it helps. Consider to subscribe and join my community

    • @MamoAir
      @MamoAir  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Yes, very simple, you just need to get a phone holder with a 1/4 inch screw thread. Something like this: www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Bracket-Smartphone-Samsung-Rotation/dp/B07DZHXPL6/ref=asc_df_B07DZHXPL6/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=326651087168&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15289061071217155920&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045906&hvtargid=pla-698619426905&psc=1
