- Tibetan Monks painstakingly spend five days t0 design and place tiny grains of sand to create a beautiful work of temporary art. On day 6 they scoop up the sand and place it in a body of water, releasing the energy of the project back into the community.
You can imagine the super human level of patience and focus these monks have, wow
Life is born. It is gorgeous. It grows. It dies. Beauty of life.
This is not only beautiful...it's a lesson.
Imagine if one of them sneezed
😂😂
I think this is the most amazing thing ive ever seen
I think the most amazing part is the destruction.
oh me too, that really took a great deal of thought...
Your brain has damage
I agree

+Emi Ly ok!
that was right here in dallas, i actuually went to that on a feild trip with my NAHS (national art Honors Society) i think it was 3 years ago, and actually watched them make it, its one of the most amazing things you will ever watch in you life in person.
Спасибо большое за прекрасные находки.Всегда считал изображение Мандал Высшим видом Искусства...Удачи Вам во всем и творческих бесконечных полетов,радости,и Любви!!!
i´m speechless... amazing!!!
Magnifique! Une merveille!
Amazing ! Thank you for sharing this ! :)
really amazing video. thanks so much for this.
very colorful... amazing culture and intricately detailed mandalas.
a universe of beauty is created from one grain of sand
This is a true example of precision in action. The entire mandala is an expression of their collective conscious in the sense that not one of them would be able to create the whole thing on their own. It's an example of the Buddhist concept of dependent arising. I'm overtly attempting to collect videos of creations and ideas of this caliber on my channel as well.
Good going. The more one does to honor this being in the present the lower our group entropy becomes. More connection, more understanding, more love.
This was amazing to watch. And your comment is up top and it's worthy of top comment! Very nice response from you. Namaste 🙏
then the leaf blower guy comes through
I’ve an interview in few hours, I’m nervous as hell. I’m listening to this and it’s slightly helping my anxiety.
Hope the interview went well!
How do they not exhail and blow the sand away
the Navajos make Sand Mandalas too.... after it serves its purpose of "healing" a patient it is also destroyed and taken out of the hogan by the medicine man... amazing stuff
Råzôr Fenix that’s amazing. I would love to see that.
Like a flower that appears then goes back to source... beauty is its own excuse for being... Tennyson
That's right! Nothing is permanent!
I hate how there are comments saying it was a waste of time...you can't tell people what to do with their lives. If you want to do something it is not a waste, it is part of their religion and it is not up to you to disrespect that. They made a piece of beautiful artwork, but it would get destroyed anyway, it represents impermenance, and if you see it as a waste of time you obviously cannot see the world as it truly is.
Nicely said!
Would make an exquisite and incredibly complicated piece of painted glass. Hmm.
+Lumi Nariel hmm
Lol hmmmm.... that would be something!
Fascinating
+Minahh yes!
uiiiu iiii uiiiii iuiiui iiiuii iuii
WOW
impressionante...troppo avanti..
This is so funny😂
i need this song this guy is singing
Om Mani Padme Hum
I played All Star by Smash Mouth while watching this to make it 10 times more entertaining
nelson mandela is my favourite actor
And then someone sneezes...

This is an excellent video, it shows all aspects of the making of this mandala. I want to see what happens with the sand afterward, the offering to the water. I think that in some ways the time lapse makes the viewer loose the meditative quality of the task.
2:37 You can tell it's building up to something
how is this not a work of renaissance artists?
Does anyone knows which mantra the monks were singing?
...and then they sorted the sand!
+boo9oob yes!
ah-CHOO!!!
Glad you like it. Yes I see what you mean about losing the meditative quality, if I had it to do over again maybe slow the cut aways of the monks dropping the sand on the mandala to slow mo would accomplish that. We missed the feeding into the water. Bummer
The Mandala will visually remain as long as this video is not destroyed. Is this an irony? For how long?
As it is said emptiness is form and form is emptiness. The mandala in the video in the mind of monks are already no more. This form here is just an empty of value, bunch of sands. Outside educational sense, it doesn't have much value to the monk and it doesn't exist for them.
Love it
Your observation proves that our devotion to video is an illusion.
all things must pass
These monks did this standing up and not exhaling too hard for hours on end. They made a wonderful mandala. I know my dumb self would have sneezed and destroyed it.
Hey hang on guys.... *ACHOO*
oops, sorry.
I guess that’s another lesson in snotty impermanence.
I'm here because of Francis and Claire
2 2 2
My back hurts
whatever you do, don't fucking sneeze or cough!
What a piece of art this is amazing but I GOT TRIGGERED WHEN THEY ROWANED IT
It's a part of their religion, its to teach you that nothing is permanent and that attachment to objects is bad for you.
the fact you are irritated by this shows that the obsession with the impermanent is bad.
Game of Throne in 6 minutes.
Can anyone tell me what does mandala signify I just knw it hold some importance bt I dnt knw wat is it? It intrigues me I hv questions in my head
Estoy aquí por estoy leyendo el libro 7 claves para vivir bn y morir bien, en el libro menciona que se mire este video
* sneezes *
This is the internet
does anyone have the lyrics?
Life for a Buddha and Bodhisattva i n c l u d e s death.There are no colours.The colours bring us joy and peace of mind,but then the migrating monks dissolve the most beautiful,accomplished sand mandalas and distribute the tainted sand in the ocean or wind...t o t a l l y non attached..and they go the next town or country ,performing their divine magic and artistic accomplishment again...and again leave without leaving traces .MEMENTO MORI is a c o n s t a n t part of Buddhist life..FLIP THE SWITCH so to say....LIFE LIKE A T A P D A N C E W I T H D E A T H....open and novus/nova like a toddler and always emotionally detatched from but curious about THE NEXT DAY...
NAMASTE'
5:49 😢😢
do you see Nazca lines from peru
+Leighton Julye ok
how often do they make them?
+pspjerry its only make when they do offering
+pspjerry once an hour
someone turns on a fan...
impermanence-is much desired/expected by our Ego-these sand mandalas which are alike "group project-efforts" are made with great care/devotion/& total commitment for the sake of teaching us-to let go of Ego-IT IS: having created something supposedly from what is the proudest creativity within ourselves-then just like THAT! Letting it go-in return: We free ourselves! impermanence-the expectation of it to REIGN-Is what holds us PRISONERS OF EGO-by letting it go-we are made to return to true SELF.
Nothing is permanent
EXCEPT PERMANENT MARKER
Nothing is a delusion
Evidentially you didn't think so otherwise you wouldn't have posted anything to this thread.
Why?
ulll ullll ulllll ull
Adderall is a hell of a drug! lol
... time never comes back : use it wisely ! Playing in the sand is for kids , simple minds ... lol .
Dumbass
That's what I was saying...
ionescuLion you are saying that you are a dumbass?
ionescuLion ok so quickly, tell what's not a waste of time?
Reading a book
If I spend multiple days straight just designing such a thing, and have it destroyed after it was finished.... phew I would’ve killed myself
Can I get a translator?
As the painting is destroyed to symbolize how life is finite.. So should this video be deleted
how to summon herobrine
ngl this sounds like a cult

yes a beautiful waste of time. i dont think Buddha would approve.
Just like your comment! Except yours wasn´t beautiful.
You sir have been a waste of my time
you wasted it
What if i tell you that your perception of "wasting time" is not the only one in the whole world?
no such thing as time.
