Does the libby app work on this tablet? People seem to be asking if its just a tablet, which seems to be a yes, but does that mean i could download app store apps on this tablet? Libby, and maybe drawing apps?
Standard Lenovo M7 works too; 7 inch screen so cheaper, smaller, lighter. Download your own Android apps or Kindle, reduce screen brightness, set paper to amber or sepia, fine for reading.
I have a question for you: Is the Boox Palma a tablet or an e-reader? What defines a tablet? I'm asking this specifically because in Brazil, where I live, our 1988 constitution guarantees tax immunity for books. In 2020, the Supreme Federal Court extended this understanding to include ebooks and “devices exclusively used to store them, such as e-readers, even if they have additional functionalities.” On the Boox website, the Palma is listed under the "tablets" section, and if imported with this description, it will be subject to taxes that can add up to a 90% increase.
Did the bn nook/Lenovo 10 inch (2021) open with the nook app, not the tablet side? I remember the nook logo pencilled animation when the tablet opened. Is there a way to switch between the two? Thanks! Great video, as usual.
So just like the Samsung Nook (Tab 4 7", Tab E 9.6" and the Tab S2) from a decade back, this is just a lower tier tablet except for the S2, with a tweaked Nook app and of course the new features that have come from the almost current Android version 13 compared to 4.4 and 5 of the Samsungs at the time. Lower tier tablets now look way better aesthetically than the plastic slabs of a decade back.
That screen is LCD and not AMOLED. You're not going to read on this. Trust me. Especially in the night.. or direct daylight for that matter. There is nothing that justifies an LCD screen for reading in this day and age. Furthermore, almost ALL android tablets have color profiles and grayscale options. This is not new. Yes they placed the button in an easy to find position. No, this doesn't make it a reading tablet. They should instead make their app more publicly available.
@@allengoforth24 I sort of looked on the google store and found a college app? I didn't find the one shown in the video. Maybe it is restricted for my country?
Have you heard of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)? It's a phenomenon that causes headaches, nausea, and eye strain for a significant number of people. LCDs don't have this effect.
can this run the kindle app? debating switching over to this from a kindle paperwhite
Yes, it can run any Android app from Google Play, including the Kindle app.
I'd expect brands such as B&N to partner with TLC or other OEMs that are trying harder to give users an epaper-like experience
TCL ? If so i think Lenovo also have at least one tablet with matte screen finish.
@@hosammansor6631 nice, which one? I referred to the Nexpaper
@@hosammansor6631TCL already has some LCD screens that mimic eink for reading. Good reviews on them so far

for christ sakes its just like any other tablet , it has the google play store

They don't make it any more. The only semi "decent" 7" is the Amazon Fire 7 and it makes a good multi-platform reader but pretty weak specs.
That’s a shame, really handy sized tablet, I better look after it. Thanks for letting us know.
Are books able to be purchased directly through Nook, or do you have to buy books through a web browser like with the Android app?
They added the ability to buy directly in the app.

Good to hear that the speakers have been upgraded from former Nook tablets which had notoriously poor sound. Thanks!

I got a New Nook, Lenovo M9, it won’t let me move anything to the SD card. Any ideas? It takes a 256 sd card, so it should work.
Isn't it just an android tablet with a pre-installed Nook app?
Yes
What's the point?
@@CharlieJohnson963 someone should rip the APK and make it available for the tablets in general.
I was playing with one at B&N. The look and feel is nice. Perfect size. I just wish it was more powerful.
I'm a bit disappointed: this is the only ereader on sale for B&N Black Friday. I really just wanted a Nook, not an actual tablet.
Funny enough, i miss the bezels from the old Nook readers. I know society has moved away from bezels..but i feel like it gave it personality.
so it is a tablet
