Wow, literally 50 years after I saw the movie come on TV, I never dreamed I'd even remember it much less see behind-the-scenes footage of its making. Gen Z will never truly appreciate what a wonder the Internet is.
This is INCREDIBLE RAW FOOTAGE! I knew there was a behind the scenes film of THE LAST DINOSAUR. Hopefully someone knows if there's behind the scenes of THE BERMUDA DEPTHS. This is so awesome!.
No one else seems to realize this movie WAS ABOUT THE BOONE CHARACTER... NOT DINASAURS!!! There are SEVERAL dinosaurs in this movie, but only ONE Boone character.😮

Very pleased to see this posted up. Would anyone know how many other productions used this same Tyrannosaurus suit ? Also, is this "Making Of" from the Japanese DVD/Blu-Ray release of the film ?
@@kennethmartin1300so Toru Kawai (The person who played the T-Rex and various monsters in the ultra series) ended up having his body distorted inside the suit?
Money most likely 😕 Warner obtained the rights to all the late-era Rankin-Bass productions via their purchase of Telepictures, so they can distribute the _film_ in the US, but the behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, etc were produced exclusively by Tsuburaya, and would need to be licensed at additional cost, plus subtitles would need to be commissioned, and for a movie not deemed popular enough for a mass release (the Warner Archive Collection is “made to order") it probably didn’t seem worth it ☹️
Why is this American comment complaining about the behind the scenes about a japanese movie being in japanese? My canadian sensibilities cannot handle it.

The T-Rex suit from this movie is one of my all-time favorite monster suits.
I like the T-Rex suit too considering that the design looks so cool-looking for a T-Rex that's being played by a guy in a suit.
It’s definitely a very good suit, maybe the best tyrannosaurs suit from a movie.
TOHO's Gorosaurus. ☝🏻
@@jason-hy8ci👍totally, that one from 'King Kong Escapes' was fantastic - scales and detailed eyes, and GREENish. I wish they had used that one here.
これは凄い貴重な映像ありがとうございます。
凄く嬉しいです。
I remember this movie from an old VHS I had. Cool to see this footage.
Great!
Tsuburaya and Rankin Bass!
The Last Dinosaur !!!! Godzilla Fan !!!!! Best Kaiju Forever
因みにこのティラノサウルスは「恐竜大戦争アイゼンボーグ」に登場した恐竜帝王ウルルや恐竜戦隊コセイドンのチャッキーに流用されています。

I love whipping this film out at lease a yr to watch and this behind the scenes is awesome
This movie needs a big budget remake!
I agree, as long as it's NOT by Disney. They'd just ruin it.
Maybe Warner bros or universal
With Bruce Campbell's as Thrust
@@davidjacobs3275 And Sydney Sweeney as the reporter girl.
@@varanid9Yes, and NO CGI. They could dig up the old T-Rex from 'King Kong Escapes'.
I loved the opening song, totally awesome.
Well, it was the late great Nancy Wilson, so what woul you expect😊
I like the dinosaur design. It's goofy yes, but it's also animated and fluid.
costume shooting allows you to make the movements of the character smoother and more natural than stop motion.
Now, If we could only get the behind the scenes on the Time Before Land.
They could had have an interview with masten and bunta.that would had been great.
I really like that they make a dinosaur kaiju in the Japan episode
とても貴重な映像…
ありがとうございます!
I wonder if their the same group that worked on the movie AT THE EARTHS CORE which is another favorite of mine
I wounder how long it took them to make those dino suits special effects have come a long way it's still a movie worth wathching.
Awesome, thanks! 👍🏽
I remember watching this on t.v. when I was about 5 years old,, thought it was the best movie ever made 😝
Something about the tyrannosaurus suit is so cool I find it nostalgic and awesome it's like godzilla before godzilla

It's from the Japanese DVD release.
The T. rex design is similar to Gorosauras from King Kong escapes and other Godzilla films.
now it makes sense why the Trex had Godzilla roar
SouthPaw82 Let me guess, Guys in Big Rubber Suits instead of Stop Motion Animation?
@CharmaineJohnson_ There was also a second or two of Godzilla in there.
That was awesome!!
Plot twist: That wasn't a costume...
I'm just f****** with you
No, that's true. There was no costume on Boone (except the wardrobe clothes) who was the REAL dinosaur.

Why isn't this on the dvd? Plus anything else that could be missing.
