I actually absolutely love this movie. The main character is kind of a monster really, if you weigh it all up. Also the bit where the Tyrannosaur's head caves in from the boulder would definitely kill it.
I think that was kind of the point his own ego and desire to prove himself has blinded him honestly the films plot could really work well with proper care it’s just a shame the films a little too corny for that XD.

The main character doesn't get his big kill by the end, T-rex keeps living so the main character decides to stay in the lost land to continue the hunt for the rest of his days. Always felt so badass and sad at the same time.
The T-Rex model used in this movie actually has quite a bit of history of usage. And one of its appearances is a really obscure film that I REALLY hope you’ll cover in this series, because it’s literally PERFECT for fitting into the category of “Dumb Dinosaur Movies”. The film is called “Attack Of The Super Monsters”. It’s an English dub movie of the first five episodes (which have been combined to form a single film) of a Japanese series called Dinosaur War Izenborg. I would rent this movie ALL THE TIME from Blockbuster Video, because it was so cheesy and stupid that it was hilarious!
I remember this movie , I only watched it once and didn’t think a lot about it. But now seeing it again it’s definitely something that’s partially entertaining.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a remake of this one. A Manly Man going for his last great adventure? That makes for a good movie in my mind. Masten is kind of a proto Roland Tembo.
I like they use a drill. I recognise some of the actors but I can’t place them. Imagine this getting a big budget remake. An epic T-Rex vs Triceratops battle! 🎉
He stayed behind forever in order to perform a task that takes a finite amount of time? I think thats a reverse Sisyphusian Task. Also I’m incapable of truly hating a movie with a love theme.
there's actually a deep level of nuance to this film buried beneath the silly effects and cheesiness about an old fashioned man struggling against the passage of time and aging, his obsession with perfection and the fear of obsolescence, I'll agree it's nowhere near a perfect film but it's rich themes are nothing to be ignored, in fact I plan on remaking this one day, although it'll be quite a challenge to find someone as gruff and masculine to play the role as Masten

The effects in this one was pretty cool and it has a weird psudo james bond song. GD that Triceratops was huge though compared to the T Rex.
