  • www.truthforlife.org || By: Alistair Begg - (Ephesians 2:19-22) Though we were once alienated from God, those who have been reconciled to Him will also be transformed by him. Alistair Begg reminds us that when we come to faith in Christ we become citizens of God’s Kingdom, members of His family, and stones in His temple. As we live out our new identity in Christ, our concern should be for the kingdom instead of our own interests. We bear with one another because we have the same Father, and we display the reality that God is building a people for Himself from every tribe and nation.

I have and continue to receive encouragment from ever sermon which is revealed to my heart from God.s Holy Word. How beautiful are the feet of those who carry Gods Word without fear or favor. No wonder Jesus says we are to wash the feet of our brothers. It is through the Word of God, Jesus says I Am the living water. I love the book of John which tells me who Jesus is, I Am. Praise God for the Great I AM.

Are you suggesting that one should go to church regardless of whether or not the Word is correctly preached, all for the sake of saying, "I GO TO CHURCH"? I live in a small town where there are no sound biblical churches...I cannot afford to move...so what's your answer?

Yup, I'm getting a little tired of these pastors constantly pushing the "local church." And if you're not in one, then you're unconverted. What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say and he should be called out for saying it. I've been to 4 churches now. What have I encountered? People who attend Sunday's and go live in the world the rest of the week. Not all, but a LOT. People, who when you try and fellowship with, aren't interested in the sermon just preached, the Word or doctrine or Christ for that matter, but they want to talk about work, vacations and home renovations.
Enough! I live for Christ EVERY day. I don't need to go and sit in some building once a week to prove my conversion. I can meet with and find Christians, REAL Christians in many places. I like a lot of what Alistair has to say, but this message was way off base. What he won't tell you is without those butts in the seats, that new building, with shiny floors and stage and band instruments, along with expensive seating would not exist if those people weren't there.
