    Not a single video of anyone actually measuring 35:1 mixture. Using the container provided

    I was going to buy one of these until I saw all the reviews on them. Every single person that did a review pointed out that they corrode faster than a fast corroding thing. Now at £140 GBP or about $200 you could argue that you should not expect anything better, but that is so typical of how manufactures from a certain country view your hard earned cash. Turn out cheap knock offs that look good value in the beginning but over a short period that 'value' turns out to be duff. I skipped out on buying the engine and went for a good old fashioned British Seagull Plus 40. Noisy, oily, and with no frills, but rock solid, still going after 50 odd years and so basic that a 2 year old could service it. May not have the glamour of a shiny new Chinese knock off but wont end up as a solid lump of rust inside one season.

    How is the Hangkai holding up? I’m tempted to buy one, but there seem to be a lot of complaints. Most of those complaints are due to lack of proper maintenance from what I can tell.

      The only complaint I have is bolts could use some Loctite and the kill switch sucks it will stick. Otherwise I am happy with it. My boat with all my gear and a friend we are both 300is lb boat. The boat with everything in it and passengers the motor pushed us at 4mph.

      Get one. It's worth the little that it costs. Care for it well and it will be good for you. I use one on my dinghy and it gets me back and forth to land from my sailboat. Actually just used it to go about 10 nautical miles.

      I used it last year 5 times on my 14’ aluminium boat with 2 people and some gear 700ish lb. 2 bigger guys and it would push the boat 4 mph not crazy fast but got the job done and was mildly good on fuel. I’d say it’s worth the price

    Anyone who has tuned the carb, can you please let me know the number of turns out worked for you? Like slowly turn yours in and count the number of turns in, then turn yours back out that same number so you don’t lose your setting. Thanks y’all.

      I heard 1/4 counter clock wise worked

      I tuned my carb. I live at 5500 feet (pretty high for a 2 stroke) and had to turn in my screw about 3/4 of a turn. I went in a little more which might actually run a little better, but backed out 1/8 or 1/16 turn from there, as I would rather be a little rich than lean. Mine came super rich (like it wouldn't even get above 1/2 throttle without bogging), and runs much better that is is leaned out (runs full throttle now). I had to fuss a little with the exhaust outlet where the water spray comes out too, to ensure that I was getting water to the motor. I'm fresh water only, at the lake I run on. The good thing about these motors is low cost, and they are super light weight. But, the are loud (my wife won't even get on the boat with me with this motor), and vibrate a bunch, which makes the whole boat vibrate and be loud. Good as a little backup motor to throw in the boat, in case the real one quits. But, not a fun experience if you don't have to. But, mine runs great, starts 1st pull every time, and at least seems to be very reliable. Just too loud.

    I got one of those, use it to power my dink getting back and forth to my boat on a mooring, this is the 3rd season and the thing is a corroded mess. I dont think there is one piece of corrosion resistant metal on the thing. You mention of bolts and screws jiggling loose, the corrosion solves that one. Most recently the throttle cable broke, again corrosion, simple enough to replace except for the corroded mess where it connects to the carburetor.

    Is it actually a 3.6hp or is it a bit smaller engine

  • @charlietaylor4421

    Do you think it will be able to handle a 11ft fibreglass boat thanks for the review

      It’s pushed my 14 ft aluminum boat with about 600lb of people and gear 4mph on the water. I’d be fairly confident it would push your boat.

      Thank you I was wondering weather to get a trolling motor but I am thinking abaut one of these now

    • @bennyblanko3
      @bennyblanko3 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Get a 40 or 50 lb trolling motor, and a lipo battery. Or, better yet, a used Yamaha or Johnson/Evenrude 5 hp or there abouts. This wouldn't push your boat very fast, and is super noisy. They are very reliable in my experience though. I use it for a backup motor. I also have a trolling motor setup, and that is the nicest if you want to talk to people in the boat, and enjoy your time on the water.

      @@bennyblanko3I heard lots of mixed views but I recently got a 8hp dt Suzuki for the same price as the hanki and it pushed the boat well
