CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Principal Vernon (Paul Gleason) gives Mitch (Cody Mcmains) and the guys a "Breakfast Club"-style verbal lashing.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Former MTV executive Joel Gallen makes his feature directorial debut with this broad spoof of the popular teen comedy genre, lampooning dozens of movies including American Pie (1999), American Beauty (1999), Bring It On (2000), Clueless (1995), She's All That (1999), Road Trip (2000), Can't Hardly Wait (1998), 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), Never Been Kissed (1999), and even the teen films of an earlier era such as The Breakfast Club (1985). At the aptly titled "John Hughes High School," aspiring artist Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh) is an outcast because of her plain, bespectacled looks and paint-splattered overalls. Football hero Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) makes a bet that he can transform Janey into a gorgeous prom queen, a wager he may come to regret as he discovers Janey's true inner beauty. As their relationship blossoms, several other characters are limned, including a Nasty Cheerleader (Jaime Pressly), a Token Black Guy (Deon Richmond), a Stupid Fat Guy (Ron Lester), an Obsessed Best Friend (Eric Jungmann), an Undercover Reporter (Beverly Polcyn), the Cruelest Girl in School (Mia Kirshner), a Cocky Blonde Guy (Eric Christian Olsen), and several others. A nod to the multiple films that inspired it, Not Another Teen Movie (2001) was originally to have been entitled "Ten Things I Hate About Clueless Road Trips When I Can't Hardly Wait to Be Kissed."

Paul Gleeson--RIP

.
And he's wearing the exact same shirt, too.
They should have had the line about Barry Manilow lol xx

this whole movie is a masterpiece
Shut your hole Wang Chung
@@WhosYourPoPo the entire scene is based on The Breakfast Club. If you’d seen that movie then you’d know.
the fact that they got Paul back to do this scene is awesome. RIP. And anyone notice the kid spoofing Bender looks a lot like him?
He really does
Yes, he does. And the way he mimicks his talking and mannerisms is so spot on
@@alvexok5523 yea, it's weird, almost like they're related or something
@@FreeggNinja3618 Yeah, I know. Also, the library looks almost exactly the same, I wonder if it was exact same set
Exactly like him! He could be Judd Nelson's kid.
For some reason, Paul Gleason is even better in this scene than in the actual original in The Breakfast Club. And the library looks exactly the same, too. Priceless.
Exactly my thoughts 👍
It’s the exact same highschool!
Original is better
The original flows much better. The interaction is completely convincing to think they are actually having an argument. This scene lacks of it and looks very rushed, but hilarious thats for sure lol
@@madden7732 Well yeah, this one is supposed to be nothing more than a parody (and homage) of that classic scene. This scene accomplishes what it needs to in a movie that (successfully) parodies 80’s & 90’s teen flicks - it’s meant to play out like a skit. So by no means did it intend to match the seriousness of the original, it’s just a funny/sweet parody that stands on its own.
“Shut your Hole Wang Chung” 😂😂
I just got first hair on ball! Lmao
Took me till now to realize he also meant Wang Chung the band. 😂😂😂
"cry me a river d^ck face"
@@spartanlz Their song "Fire in the Twilight" was featured on The Breakfast Club soundtrack The song played while the kids were running in the hallways!
I never seen this movie but it's FUCKING AWESOME that they got Paul Gleason back again to play Principal Vernon.
what?? you have to see it! great movie and one of the last great spoofs before they all turned to crap
ConvictedAshes this movies pretty good
It was a good thing they got him when they did. He died 4 months after this movie came out.
Lavern Merriweather Actually he died in 2006. This movie came out in 2001
Not like he had anything else going for him at the time.
Dunno why, but the funniest part to me was the one guy channeling Molly Ringwald at the 1:33 mark. Too funny.
Chrome Binder : Yeah, one of the actresses talked about that on the DVD commentary track.
+Chrome Binder i don't get this reference
+Captain Quirk lmao what'd they say?
+xBaseHead : I don't remember the specific commentary, but one of the actors in this scene chuckled and commented on Sam's funny expression and how it was a parody of Molly Ringwald's facial expression in the corresponding scene in _The Breakfast Club._
yes, always my favorite moment of this scene as well!

“Cry me a river dickface” has to be the best and funniest comeback ever! The shocked face makes it that much funnier.

Wang Chung.
The writers of this movie mastered the art of parody. Also, the soundtrack was perfect.
Amen!...💯
🧢 they stole the whole wayans bro swag
@@jhova187 Totally! Only the Wayans are allowed to make parodies.
This, Scary Movie, and the Brady Bunch Movie were probably the best spoof movies ever made. Then spoof movies got trendy and they just turned into pointless cheese with no plotlines just really dumbed down version of scenes from other movies badly editted together.

The late Paul Gleason . classic scene from The Breakfast Club
Yes, and it looked like the same library too lol.😂
And he was still raiding Barry Manilow's closet.
Best ever, great actor💪
But he also did comedy after his serious rolls
Another one
Paul still got it!! RIP
I love how they even parodied Claire mourning “stop”
Have you learned what the "mourning" means in the last 4 years?

I finally watched the breakfast club for the first time today and this scene finally made so much sense 🤣
Lol welcome to the club..watching this had me in tears I love breakfast club and this was perfect
Haha sameee
Same. I loved this scene as a kid and didn’t even know the movie was a parody movie until many years later
How did you like it?
I also saw this movie before I ever saw The Breakfast Club 😂
That was genuinely funny and the fact brought back the same actor makes it even better
Molly Ringwold was in this as well. And they mention Anthony Michael Hall.
“Shut your hole, wang chung!” 😂😂😂
Both the Principal and Molly came back for this spoof I was so shocked the first time I saw them in the movie
People clapped when Molly had that cameo when I saw it in theaters.
Alot of people did surprisingly
Truth be told I kind of thought that Paul guy who played the principal was literally ageless. Despite the gray hair he was obviously getting, he doesn't look all that much older, despite the 2 movies had a 16 year gap.
They used the original guy :)
What????!!! NOOOO!!!

More time has passed since this movie was released than between Breakfast Club and this movie. Surreal.
The band Wang Chung had a song on the Breakfast Club soundtrack.
Brad Larson ah so that's why he says shut your hole Wang Chung
And because the kid speaks in a funny accent similar to an Asian
Each character in the movie is based off the certain stereotypes in the high school films that they spoof. Bruce (Samm Levine) is “The Wannabe.” His character is based off the Asian guy in “Can’t Hardly Wait.”
I thought I was the only one who recognized that! 😊
The “Wang Chung” guy is in so many movies now. He plays Hirschberg in Inglorious Basterds and also has a small role in Lone Survivor 🙌
And freaks and geeks
Notice how this set looks similar to The Breakfast Club's DT room. And I also noticed that the stairs in front of the school look almost exact (from my memory) to the school's from Ferris Bueller lol
It is exactly the same set! Complete the slice of sandwich meat that Ally Sheedy throw up onto the statue.
All these movies are connected i think the should release a box set of the brat pack on dvd and bluray.
gbonkers666 oh shitci just saw that man i kinda wish they did a sequel or something.
Justin yeah it’s quite obviously a reference
RIP Paul Gleason, he was THE 80s movie bully/villain!
I admit this movie will always be funny and this scene is pure classic and it's from the original Breakfast Club movie from the 80s. Not Another Teen movie will always be one of the best parody movies ever made in the early 2000s hands down.
1:27 - 1:33. gets me everytime lol
I think this is one of the best parody movies ever created
That old guy looks like a mix of Chris Hansen, Vince McMahon and Pierce Brosnan
The breakfast club kids.
This is an underrated gem of comedy.
I never seen this movie but i learned that he did die just a couple years after this 😢so happy he got to do this role 1 last time

It’s amazing how they filmed this spot on showing tribute to the original movie
WONDERFUL MOVIE GOD I MISS THE 2000'S!!!!!!
This is literally the best scene from start to finish.
Don't you forget about me
I just noticed the toilet seat cover stuck to his butt when he leaves 😂
They should've added a toilet flushing sound as he was walking out 😂😂😂
It's the reference to the original film when he walked out with it sticking out of his pants without him realizing it. Of course, when he walked in, he didn't have it there.
Paul Gleason. Rest In Peace!
Same library too.
That's the Young Judd Nelson
Paul Gleason was awesome, he plays the best role in his career and parodies it.
Where he keeps saying yes good it's nonstop laughing no joke!!!

Not Another Teen Movie came out 22 years ago (2001). The Breakfast Club came out in 1985, 16 years before this movie. That means it’s been longer since this movie came out than the one they parodied lol. That’s crazy
How can this scene be better than the original? 😆

The one in the blue boat plays the Indian boy from Jungle 2 Jungle
RIP Paul Gleason
I think it's even in the same library...either that, or they built a damn closely-modeled set...
Note to...well, myself, I guess (lol): The 'library' from the original (and presumably this one as well), was actually a set constructed on what was formerly the gym of a then-recently shut down Illinois high school (Maine North). They used some of the rest of the school as is (the hallways, the football field for the ending fist-pump, etc). The library as it was was too cramped for what Hughes has in mind, so they meticulously built a 'library' in the empty gym, and I guess they recreated all that here, which is awesome. The building is now a Police Station...which is a bummer, cos I'd have love to have visited it (w/o having to get arrested in Illinois, lol)
The fact that he reprised this role before he died.. 😢❤
"He was a famous clown."
"Bobo "
"Bozo" would have also been acceptable.
this is my favorite part of the movie XD so hilarious
+ladylovebugdale mine too.
