Exactly, the whole Taco thing was so confusing and uncomfortable. Being from Europe, I thought “you probably got to be American to understand it.” But now it makes perfectly sense 😂😂
The problem with it is that it just seems to exist to be a parody of _The Breakfast Club._ This could've been cool if this was a flashback to Tori learning about how Andre, Robbie, Beck, Jade and Cat first met, but all it does is just reference an '80's movie without ingratiating it into the show's plot.
I just finished watching the original, and I rewatched victorious numerous times since it aired. I always thought it was because the writers got bored, but watching the inspiration made it 1000x funnier, it all makes since now😂
i never watched this movie either but the dancing on the table scene is iconic so when i saw them do that i knew they were parodying the breakfast club.
Me too haha. Definitely didn’t understand the whole vegan=virgin and tacos=them getting high either. I mean I was a child so that’s understandable but so many kids these days understand things in an instant so I was just so innocent lmao

I had never seen the Breakfast Club before I watched this episode, so I though the line in the movie was “I like black girls”, since it sounded like black curls.
I love this so much lol, like they really replaced the grass with taco’s?!!! That’s a wayy different lettuce lol. Also they changed the chest lipstick thing with a foot thing…. Dan Schneider’s involvement is really showing 🤢🤢🤢
Im sure Dan loved it but it was actually referenced in the movie. The emo girl had a list of things she could do with her feet when asked about her secret talent.
u rly made a clean kid version of the breakfast club and turned into your interpretation of how dan could be creepy? would u rather have tori do the boob trick? I think youre the real creep here cuz that is such a fuckin reach.
Lol I never understood this episode when I was a kid. Victorious Ed age demographic has not seen the breakfast club, idk why they did that without at least giving context
I don’t really think that was the point. I think the breakfast club reference was more for parents who watch victorious with their kids who seen the breakfast club and this episode was about kids in Saturday detention bonding and having fun. They do that in a lot of movies and shows. Like how kids shoes will have dirty jokes but the kids don’t understand them.
They brought the breakfast club to an entirely new generation they made it child friendly they took all the elements from the original movie and made them even more hilarious and it works it’s absolutely genius I’ll take Robbie‘s flat hair over Anthony Michael Hall doing grass anytime
You missed the stuffing of weed/tacos in pants, and they combined 2 references in one with the foot thing. The emo girl from breakfast club admitted to being able to do a lot of things with her feet as a hidden talent.

I saw the Victorious version first. A little later I saw breakfast club movie. I was thinking this looks familiar. But it didn’t hit me until I saw this part 3:09
although i do think this was a cool episode idea, i wish they had stuck to one breakfast club member for each victorious character. it was kind of a annoying how they sort of randomly switched. it kind of muddied the waters, losing the such specific personalities of the characters. it sort of ruins the whole purpose of the original movie, right? i mean the whole point was that they were all so drastically unique, but still ended up getting along in the end.
yeah, but they cannot get out of the characters. I mean Beck was the nicest in the group so he cannot have Bender's Dialogues on the other hand Jade was perfect as Allison but Alison did not have many iconic dialogues. So to give everyone equal dialogues they switched among themselves.
Ngl I always felt something was off when I watched this as a kid but I still think it’s funny despite what some people say or think about it. Sure it may be a little cringe but the actors look like they are having a fun time.
As someone who has seen both TBC and Victorious; The Breakfast Club is superior. Not that Victorious isn't necessarily bad overall; yeah, this episode is a fever dream. I hate how they treated Brain's character in the Victorious's portrayal of him. And other portrayals of big serious moments from the movie.

The fact that Beck is styled exactly like John but all of Johns lines were given to Jade is so funny to me 😭
Because beck is too nice
