Do not forget that these cars sold !!!! despite its design , looks etc. For the average Citizen these full filled the purpose !!! .... and the quality was good - solid built .-
I could imagine that is was in Germany the Ford Taunus 20m TS, the 2-door coupe variant with a 2 liter V6 engine. The car of my childhood, white body and red interior. In that time that was really upper middle class. Damit brauchteste keinem hinkerten Frosch aus dem Wege zu gehen (With that you did not have stay away from a limping frog - german understatement phrase)
Waardeloos commentaar, slaat nergens op. De Ford Taunus was een heerlijke én mooie auto, heb er zelf een gehad, top auto! Stop met deze onzinnige serie, en besteed je tijd beter.
This text is written as if the author is a Tesla Cybertruck fan, prime purpose of a car is to look cool (to make you cool), to have performance so that you can show off, the rest is uninmportant. The first cars (without the Pontiac Tempest) are all meant to be a practical means of transportation for a family or a workshop. Styling is tertiary at best. And the step that is folding out when you open the sliding door of the Ford van is outright cool - and practical.
In 1963, I followed one Ford Taunus with my bicycle. The German, seeing that I was interested, showed me the inside of the car and its engine (1700 ccm and 85 HP). It was very comfortable inside and still is today.
What an obnoxiously biased viewpoint you have. You completely ignore the fact, that after WW2 European (especially German) car manufacturers basically had to start from scratch, and so had their customers. Small cars with low power engines were a necessity for both parties, not a choice. 1) In only four years Ford Köln (Cologne, Germany) sold 670,000 Taunus P3/17M in Germany, Greece and South Africa, which was a HUGE success. Yes, it looked different, but it was very popular, incredibly practical, reliable, and economical. It wasn't "silly" at all and does NOT belong on this list. 2) The NSU Prinz was a very charming, cheap and popular small car. 570,000 were sold. I wouldn't call that "silly" either. Besides, most of the footage shown here, is from the Simca, not the NSU. 3) The Renault 4 singlehandedly SAVED Renault from bankruptcy. Adding it to a list of "silly" cars is outright ignorant. It sold EIGHT MILLION units over a production run of well over thirty years.

'Oddball' Taunus? Much more sensible & practical than your Yank Tanks of the same era, packed in watching this trash at 4.44.
The Daf 33 is called square. It had wings, for crying out loud! The Moscovitch was absolutely NOT a car for the masses. They were more for people who worked for the government ( waiting list of between 7 and 10 years IF people could even afford them! ).
If there is anything here that is uninspired, boring and annoying, it is the text that the AI voice recites. I had to switch off after 11 minutes because I couldn't take any more of the repetitive, stupid chatter.
The DAF 33 was one of the few affordable and small automatic cars available at the time, it was the first car with a CVT transmission, mostly driven by older and people like my uncle who lost his left leg, it was never intended to be fast but in acceleration the first meters it would beat almost every big and powerfull car these things were quick of the spot, but the topspeed was low, i driven a DAF/VOLVO 55 marathon for a while it had a topspeed of 140km/h had a lot of fun in it untill i blew the engine.
...and you wonder why the mainframe of these never made it in U.S. markets? You had to be here during that time to appreciate the disdain of the American family cars needs to the American public at large. They would have been more popular as soda pop cans
It seems like you have mist something: Those small economic cars were loved all over europe. Many of them were alternatives to VW - Beetle. The NSU Prinz 4 L was a lot better car than what you say. The engine produced 36 hp on two cylinders and a topspeed around 100 km/t enough to most european people.
Please stay to Facts! The Ford P3 was replaced by the Ford P5! The P4 was the other Model in a lower Class, with V4 Engine and Front Wheel Drive, the P4 was later replaced by the P6. The P5 was later replaced by the P7, and the P7 was updated to the P7a one Year later. The P3 Had Inline 4 Engines, the P5 and P7 were available with V4 and V6 Engine.
The bathtub name comes from the recessed oval headlights, not from the body shape. My father had the good-looking brother, a Ford Taunus 20m TS 2liter V6 90 hp, 2 door "Coupe". In white with red interior. The car of my childhood. My father was quite proud of it.
I strongly disagree with some of your comments. The Taunus might be unusual in its time, but was an innovative design and full of charm. The Renault 4 was my first car as a student, and I keep good memories. A wonderful efficient car, very practical and roomy, and a great success worldwide. As you say, it was a utility vehicle, not intended to compete with elegant models. Both cars do not deserve to be in this video, honestly.
This voice simply doesn't know what it talks about, its chip is confused LOL. I'm here to enjoy these nostalgic models so my advice is to watch with no sound
This way, I tell the author of this video to go to hell! Who are you to judge the car design of that time?! It's true that they weren't pretty, BUT what right did you have to include the Renault 4 GTL among the worst cars?! Come on, remove this video NOW. Failure to do so will result in LEGAL consequences!!!
The Fiat 500 was smaller than the Prinz and was much more uncomfortable. It had a 500cc twin pot engine which was less refined than the Prinz unit. You know almost nothing about cars of the period.
the Taunus was an amazing car, i owned one. It drove like on clouds, it was that smooth. you talk crap and have no ideas about cars :( not going to subscribe!😊
I enjoy seeing all these classic cars , but the narration is way off reality for most of these cars and is annoying to hear. Many of these cars were the ones filling the roads and streets at this time in history. Luxury cars were few and far between in the 1950-60-70- in most countries. Luxury cars were not more reliable, rather the opposite, only more expensive to buy and maintain. The car company Borgward was tricked into bankruptcy. It should never have occurred. Borgward had a cash flow crisis due to very high expenses in making the new P100 model. MB took over their big car factory on Bremen and it became MB's largest car factory in Germany.
This looks and sounds so much like AI generated content that it probably is. Result : very little interest if any. Undue money in someone pocket. DON’T WATCH !
It seems that this series serves first and foremost as a hatefest aimed at classic European car heritage, with a couple of mandatory US-made cars thrown in each time as if to claim balance and fairness. It makes absolutely no sense, as evidenced by a total of 218 likes after 30k views.
Please include in the introduction that what’s presented as fact based reviews is just the personal opinions of an American with zero insight into the European perspectives, needs and realities of the time periods where the cars were developed and produced.
AI, know that the Simca company belonged then to Chrysler, and some were sold in USA. The R4 (and not Fors???) was a huge success due to its reliability and price. It never had 2 two doors for example. A lot of bullshit talk in this vid, again...
Why are you showing the Simca engine bay when you are describing the NSU one? Wakey, wakey. And as for the AI commentary, cut it out. It's a load of boring old rubbish.
Taunus P3 was my second car after a VW 59, it was a 64 and one of the best cars i has owned, very popular i Europe.
Stop editing Simca shots while your silly AI voice is talking about NSU.
Please, STOP repeating and repeating the SAME speech lines, over and over again…..,
You talk about the Messerschmidt KR200 having 3 wheels while showing one that has 4 wheels.
Do not forget that these cars sold !!!! despite its design , looks etc. For the average Citizen these full filled the purpose !!! .... and the quality was good - solid built .-
The Ford Taunus P3 ESTATE was a spectacular looking beast 💪🍀❤️

you made a mix up mishap between the NSU Prinz and the Simca 1000

These cars were not silly as the title suggest.

This video is most likely AI generated.
@@Mahoromatic Either way, it's terrible!

the A40 Farina is silly? Sales, profits, popularity ratings ?

I lived in Europe during the 60s and 70s. Most off the cars you are trashing were great cars. What "stylish and sleek' cars are you comparing them?
The Tanuas may be a little strange in the front end the side profile is pretty pleasing given the era.
...and you wonder why the mainframe of these never made it in U.S. markets? You had to be here during that time to appreciate the disdain of the American family cars needs to the American public at large. They would have been more popular as soda pop cans

Apprars as if Chevy used some of its style cues for their small cars. There is definitely better content out there.

The gogglmile dart reminds me of a Jerry Anderson show from my childhood it was called super car there is a definite resemblance 😊😊
Calls the channel ''Classic Cars'' -ain't got a clue what he's talking about 🥲
PS I repaired these P3 .s and they were economical .
All you say is nonsense. You do not even know how important some of them were. What is a Renault force? it is called Renault 4.
You are confusing the original Hillman Husky (front engine) with the later model which had a rear engine and was based on the Hillman Imp.
I don't agree in most cases.
Unfug, der Ford P3 war ein schöner Wagen.
My folks had a Crosley that always broke down -- but that was the 50s.
