Hi great idea. Door hangers also fit the handles on most of the trash cans used with the articulating arms. If you can hit the cans after the truck it saves time in walking up and down driveways and the homeowners usually see the hanger when they go to bring in the trash can.
What percent of people call you when you put it on their trash? I thought about that but it seems like that just makes it easier for them to throw it away
I used to use a service called mail shark. I’ve never done door hangers. Mailers were good for me. You can send different kinds of mailers to specific zip codes and areas. Target higher household income areas etc.
5 leads on 150 is huge. I just did 300 and got 2 calls although I offer 1 specific service. Did those leads use the QR code or did they call? And how soon after you left them were your calls coming in? Thanks
Next time instead of doing door hangers, create a full size 8.5 x 11 page with your services and photos front and back. Then buy the Clear 9 1/2" x 15" Plastic Poly Door Knob Hanger Bags. This will give you space to write a story about your company and show your full services with photos. You'll get a far better response.
Hey brother. Maybe think about a new equation for calculating your cost of putting out the door hangers. you’re dividing your time by the hourly rate that you charge your customer. You should divide your time by the cost of your labor (employee wage/what you would pay yourself as an employee). You would only consider your hourly to the customer if the alternative to doing those door hangers was to perform work. The reason you did the door hangers was because you have excess labor, (employees, yourself, with no work to do). Your cost to put out the door hangers, =the cost of the door hangers+the the money you ACTUALLY SPENT in labor, to put them out. What you were calculating is closer to your opportunity cost of putting those door hangers. Which would only make sense to calculate if you had constant jobs that the employee and yourself could’ve been performing at $125
I didn’t know if it would work or not but after 1000 TH-cam videos I decided to give it a try. First day I handed out 250 flyers in my neighborhood got 1 estimate through my website (Not sure If I’m booking that one). The second time I went knocking on doors and managed to book a job from it for ($350). I spent $175 for 2000 so that’s my money back right there. I kept going and managed to book a job for a crazy amount.. It definitely works but it’s better to knock on doors and interact with people with good energy that will get you far! I still have around 1400 door hangers left.
I ordered flyers from VistaPrint in the same dimensions as standard door hangers. Then, I used a hole punch and rubber bands from Staples to convert them into door hangers. This approach was simple, cost-effective, and worked great for distributing materials door-to-door.
Don't discount the word of mouth and repeat customers which are both compounding factors. I've done small jobs in neighborhoods and end up filling months of time from them sharing with friends and family. These are unquantifiable returns for making that first contact.
He is in New York so higher cost of living so he can ask for more. I just watched this video and I said to myself well if he can get 450 to pressure wash a house exterior then here in Mississippi where I am I could get 200-250 to pressure wash a houses exterior. Our cost of living is cheaper so I can't ask for 450 because our local market won't support that. If I was in a memphis tenn suburb then I probably could get 300 to pressure wash a house's exterior. Hope this makes sense
@handymanuniversity oh wow man I'm VERY close. Maybe we can collaborate some how. I have too much work and am trying to expand massively. I'll give you a call later today and see if we can come up with something maybe. You never know man
Did the government throw a fit? I went door to door years back, just to places with super long grass, and someone called the police on me and they threatened to "kick me out of town."
No way, That’s insane! We’re safe for now but I’m sure someone will be grumpy with it soon enough. Just gotta weed through the bad apples to find the gems .
Thanks for the information. I'm looking to start my tea business. My first tea comes from Nigeria. It increases your energy, libido and for the man is all natural Viagra without side effects.
What's very hard to get through your video? You sounded very scatter brained and absent-minded. I can't imagine what your jobs must be like. But maybe you're just starting out. I've done door hangers before. Return was very small .. I would say 2% for me which was considered good. I get 2000 door hangers, but I. Ended up getting 4 jobs and 2 of them. Were really big jobs. But if you do really good, work, have great. Customer service skills are very personable. And guarantee all your work. You'll have more work than you can imagine just through referral

How is it working out now?

I haven’t tried that before maybe I’ll give it a shot!
USPS offers this called EDDM, Every Door Direct Mail. They’ve got a free tool available online.
True, but direct mail costs WAY more.
Do door hangers on the weekend. Better chance of running into home owners and starting a conversation.
Wow incredibly comforting. I’m about to leave business cards on doors for cleaning.
Awesome. Thank you for sharing!

I ordered 500 for now. About to distribute some soon.
It’s so worth it! Super uncomfortable at first, at least for me. But gets easier once you do it. Let me know how it goes!
