Thanks for the template! I made two from Altoids tins. For the first I used a piece of plastic from a milk jug. For the second I used aluminum from a tall can of ice tea (fold, don't score the lines). Makes for an interesting logo on the inside. The plastic is easier to work with.
It makes sense that your videos would be so well produced. Your craftsmanship clearly extends beyond your lure making. Bit of a perfectionist, are we? :)
Wow! I haven't seen such a good video on youtube for a long long time. This is real professional work, not only the tackle box you craftet but also the production of the video. I'm pretty sure if you would start to sell these many people would buy one. I would do so pretty sure! Sry for typos or wrong grammar I'm not a natural speaker. Greetings from Germany :)
Love the precision of your work, its very detailed and I enjoy that you talk the instructions, rather than caption them into the video. Also if you weren't making the foam hinged like you did, they make a type of foam, same size that you used, except it has an adhesive backing. I modify all my tackle boxes and containers into fly boxes using the same foam method. Great video buddy, subscribed! From NC
just another great (simple) idea, I like the foam part. for years I've used the "tins" of smokeless tobacco brands, such as the round Copenhagen ones. in the last few years, they are now made completely of plastic, which greatly reduces rusting, as the lids snap on well to reduce the drying out of the tobacco. with just a magic marker for identification, and 5 or six of these, it's surprising how well they keep small, terminal tackle separated in your box, or pockets ready for easy accessibility! as usual, your vids are top notch, still waiting for the rod build! thanks!
I tend to take too much with me when fishing, i took this little kit to a trout reservoir and was fishing with spinners and small lures and catching nothing so in the end i opened my little tin and had one of those bonkers afternoons pulling fish out and then i wondered why i had brought my big bag. I was telling a guy at the local tackle shop about making this video and he showed me his fisherman's friend tin which he uses to keep his medication in. January for the rod build, thanks
as well as I in the early days, box after box, but I was a madman when I caught fishing fever. how well we've learned, heh? I still miss those days of over exhilaration tho,... will look forward to jan.!!
I liked the way you used your CAD program then print out the drawing. I have done the same thing to cut out the pieces for the radio control airplanes. I design and build. Best of luck to you. Thank again for sharing your skills with us. Lee Noring
Hooked On-CNC i like messing round with different ways of doing things and cad always seems like one of those cool toys that should not be limited to engineers. Thanks
Thanks i have been watching your videos for some time, one of my first seas fishing experiences was fishing from an open Canadian Canoe off Burgh Island a little further north of you. I hope to get back on the sea next year, thanks
You have shown your excellent skills making a lot of tackle. I understand in this day and age the use of CAD and all that type of thing. Could you make a few plugs or lures where you use nothing but hand tools, or very little use of power tools? Doesn't have to be some extravagant carving, just a good working lure or plug. Thanks for sharing your talents on this channel. I have used a lot of your ideas.
Real nice argain so much time and work in to a box u can buy for a view bucks. And you make it youre self!! And juist because u can and because u love to make it! I wonder whats next making own hooks of even youre line maybe? Anyway i look forward to it Keep up the good work !!
nice video paul and good idea successful completion of filming. just suggest do not let the tea near the keyboard .i lost my keyboard recently . good luck
w delakas this was inspired by my wife who bought me a tin of mints back from a trip, she buys me tins of things cause she collects tins it is kind of half present, but she ain't getting this tin
***** -- I'm a dumb Yank when it comes to proper English tea. I had to stop coffee as it started to tare up my guts. I'm really enjoying Earl Grey with sugar and cream instead. Thanks for all your time investment in your videos! Cheers! :0)
It seams your template has been removed from the host site. I would like to download it. Fishermans friends are the only lozenges I use. and I have tins-a-plenty!
thank you, I received your e-mail. I thought it was quite odd. I saw the file there too, only when I clicked on it to download it, was I told it was unavailable. (???)
Paul. what is the name of the company that makes the long multi measurement ruler with the holes? It looks metal. Is it a draftsman ruler? thanks. I would like to find one like it.
+Stargazer131000 I do not know who makes them, but it is a cigarette and cigar measuring gauge, the name on it is from a company that makes cigars, and cigarette making machinery who would have had it made for them.
oluna1981 I think i have picked up a lot of what i do from others who didn't ask for any money from me for their effort, maybe it doesn't make great business sense not to cash in bits of knowledge but this is fishing and for me it is a little beyond business, and a little less important than oxygen. Thanks

bob Turkowski Thanks, i enjoyed making this project and the video
I have use same idea over five years. I use fishermans friend box to my flies. My tackle boxes are much simple but great video!:)
yes using tins for storing bits and pieces of tackle is not something new, my granddad had his tobacco tins and cigar boxes,. thanks
You have really inspired me to try to do my own fishing lures for this coming winter here in Sweden. Thanks for all your great tips and videos
One of the best diy projects. I cannot wait to make this! Thank you so much for the time and effort and great video.

Superb edit and camera work, love it! You voice is very calm and relaxed too, easy listening. Keep up the great work :-)
From The Waters Edge TV I think my voice was getting too relaxed as i had a bit of a chest infection while recording this one. thanks

Ah lads! These videos just keep getting better and better. Fantastic viewing.
Wow just watching this made me think how much time and effort it would of taken you to edit and perfect this video. Well done Paul.

***** I agree. I spend a lot of time using CAD to design my project. Then I import the drawing into Aspire to create the Gcode to cut.

Very nice, thanks. There are some mint boxes with clear lids that would work well for flies.
Really god idea. I like this very much. Reuse not just casting thinks. Thanks for sharings it
