One question: do i need to backup my pc before installing windows11? Or will I lose any data even if I install windows11 without backing up before hand!?
I tried this option too but surprisingly when I launch the setup.exe probram from the.VHD it crashes at the beginning right after having accepted to keep files and apps but in the events I can’t find out what prevented the installation to go the end. Help!

Hey! he said to choose the same operating system language that you're currently using, no matter if you download the Windows ISO from Microsoft official site or from Rufus.

Why would anyone want to put "Windows 11 on any PC"?
I got a Windows 11 laptop by mistake. It would not recognise my Word 2000 disc. I tried to install some later version of Word. It would not let me do it. Every avenue led to Office 365 on subscription. It was so useless, I gave it away and replaced it with a refurbished 2009 Windows 7 laptop. It has a fast SSD drive and I have installed all my favourite programs on it. It is ready for use in less than 10 seconds from pressing the button. It is GREAT!

I have a 256GB SSD with 2 partition with around 100Gb data
does it affect that? or any other Microsoft data?
Data will not be affected, but still I always recommend to take the data backup, you can transfer the data into the other partition where windows is not installed
Have you tried useing RUFUS to make the VHDX partion a Windows To GO not a Std. install and then change to boot into the Win2Go.vhdx?

I'm trying to understand why make the VHD drive, you could have done the same with an attached USB drive, after Rufus made the bootable USB you could have opened it in file explorer and ran the same setup.exe to do an inplace upgrade of your existing OS. It seems an unnecessary step unless of course you don't have a spare USB drive.
Yes, you can do. But this option is only for the people who don't have a USB

The original iso does not have the Rufus bypass options.
But if i have the mircosoft office and some documents on my desktop, it will be deleted as well right?

I prefer a different approach:
Dual Boot Windows 10 and 11:
- Start by creating an unallocated partition on your drive.
- Install Windows 11: Use Rufus to create a bootable USB with the Windows 11 ISO and install it on the new partition.
- Activate Windows 11: Copy the activation key from your existing Windows 10 installation.
If you decide to remove Windows 11 later:
- Use MSCONFIG on Windows 10: Change the main boot back to Windows 10.
- Remove Windows 11: Restart your PC, then delete the Windows 11 boot entry and the partition.
This method allows you to test Windows 11 while keeping Windows 10 intact.
This method also gives you an option to test Windows 11 and revert back to 10

not even sure this will work on my old pc that is 17 years old then last update broke it so I am going to have to reformat again and reinstall windows 10 and windows told me that even my 6 year old laptop that I used for work is not able to be upgraded to windows 11
I won't even recommend going with windows 11 on an old device
