  • In this video I share some insight on the aluminum rocker arms available for some of the Honda J series cylinder heads. In this case I install them into a J32A2 cylinder head. I also share a close up view of why big lift camshafts are not quite so easy to have on these engines.
    This is the 1st of many videos to come where we will continue to break down the J series engine.

    Good stuff bro, so it is just with j32a2 lift space cam? Or all other models? I have j35a8, with it have the isue?

      Will be the same cause all cams sit inside the same space for sliding the cams into heads. We know this since all the cams are basically interchangeable

    Do you know where 2012 Honda Odyssey Crocker arms and all the pins and spring located cause in stall the spool valve and it not line up all the bolt because I spin the shaft and pull it out then I accident make the rocker arm falls out , I still confused where it locate and how to put it back you have any Claude are any video that you know . Thank you

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Question, Im installing new oem camshafts. Do I need to install new rocker arms as well?

    • @PowerRevRacing
      @PowerRevRacing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of the time, the camshafts wear and the rocker arms are ok. I have seen worn or broken rockers as well but it's not nearly as common as worn camshaft lobes.

    On your website it says that valve covers will need modification for clearance with these rockers? Do you have a video explaining or showing the valve cover mod?

    Hey, these are for the newer TL's with cyl-deactivation iirc. Did you ever post how to adapt these to VTEC heads? Great info otherwise! Thanks!

      They don't have vtec, so yeah you can use it like that.

  • @rockenracing1996
    @rockenracing1996 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    forgive my ignorance, but couldn't you just line bore the cam tunnel for a higher lift cam?

    • @PowerRevRacing
      @PowerRevRacing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You can but that requires a lot of work. For one you need cams with a bigger base circle. Also will throw off the valvetrain geometry.

    • @brettsanderson8680
      @brettsanderson8680 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PowerRevRacing Couldn't just the cam journals be bored and enlarged while machining the base circle of the lobes to still be to factory spec leaving the geometry intact? Also do you know what the factory rocker ratio is, Im guessing 1.5-1.8 since almost all Honda engines fall within that range. Also while I've only ever really seen push rod engines change rocker ratios is there any way to increase the j series rocker ratios to to get more lift or are we back to messing with the geometry with that as well.

    • @PowerRevRacing
      @PowerRevRacing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brettsanderson8680 that is what we are doing now. We have a cam where we linebore the cylinder head, and we also made some rockers with a slightly more aggressive rocker ratio.

    i though the exhaust was out of one port how does that have 3 exhaust exits

    • @PowerRevRacing

      From 98 to 04. Most of the J series has 3 port exhaust
