Pretty easy to decipher the song and video. Arrows are all the negative mean comments she gets but you see the only one that hits her is the one she says about herself. Meaning only the words you say about yourself hurt you the most. Amazing song as always from QUEEN Hwasa

Cindy Lauper, when asked a few years ago what she knew about K-pop, said that she had this song on her playlist.
I feel like the progression showed her moving to increasingly smaller spaces (to represent avoiding, hiding, protection) and then she tries to run away altogether and ends up out in the open to face the issues & it shows liberation & confidence when she's able to come to her senses and return to self. Such an amazing song, beautifully visualized & represented.
You got it. Really nice interpretation of the song and MV. Here's my additional 2 cents. Notice how the arrows follow her from outdoors (in public) to the living room to the bedroom to the small womblike space. There's no escaping the hate that invades even the most private aspects of her life, as you mentioned, and it makes her lose her mind (LMM = Lost My Mind). At the climactic moment when she shoots the arrow that hits her in the back the lyrics are "Even if we try harder to get it we only end up going in circles. Only lost sight. Only tried to avoid." Fighting the hate is a vicious circle that gets us nowhere. We lose sight of who we are when we cower in fear and try to hide and avoid the rain of negativity. These thoughts and the realization that self-hate is the only thing that can truly hurt her leads to the next line, "Flowers bloom even in the falling rain." She has finally overcome the crisis and is able to face the shower of arrows without fear or defiance, simply accepting what comes her way. When Mamamoo debuted and people petitioned to have her removed from the group because they thought she didn't fit with kpop beauty standards she said that she hoped to change those opinions and I think we see that positive attitude again in the final scene where the rain of arrows is transformed into a field of flowers surrounding her.
LMM is a gorgeous, profound song and a vocal masterpiece and it was my pick for 2020 SOTY. Last month Hwasa ditched her planned performance of upbeat dance tracks at the 2023 SBS drama award show and instead sang LMM as a tribute to actor Lee Sun Kyun, who recently committed suicide.
Another famous quote from her: Sometimes even to live is an act of courage.

South Korean media has constantly criticized her for her feminism. She is a powerful woman and they don’t like that. The arrows is the media. She doesn’t pay attention. I admire her.
To suffer the slings and arrows....and yes the ones that hit the hardest are the ones we fire at ourselves. This is such a great song and message. All hail the Queen may she forever rise above.

How did I miss this! One of my favorite songs of all time and it makes me cry so much. She has been through the s.korea media hell and received so much hate from the public that she has even asked herself if it would stop if her life ended. You understand the song and MV really well. Her lyricism is so beautiful and painful.
🥲 one of the songs that , NOT ONLY fits the truth about the KーEntertainment industry, but also the truth of many people. It's hard to live in a world where many people lack "humanity and kindness." Especially with the advent of the internet, many are becoming insensitive of what they say and write.

I wish everyone who is under some shiz right now could slowly stand up again in their own times. The world will never change any time soon, it's normal that we breakdown when we get tired of everything, but I hope we all find the strength again.... slowly.

You would be surprised how many genuine Hwasa/Mamamoo fans who host a TH-cam reaction channel, completely miss this. Some even miss the arrows altogether until the shower of arrows at the end. Funny how these channels, expose their true reasons for reacting to various popular MV's.

Okay, I'd heard of Hwasa through Mamamoo! I first heard this song 2 days after the death, by suicide, of actor Lee Sun-Kyun (Parasite - movie and My Mister - series) after enduring 6 months of bullying by police, the media and even fans!!!! The "arrows" pierced him to the point he couldn't endure! He was publicly named for alleged drug use during an investigation. He was initially a witness. His name was cleared one month after his death.
That she changed her practiced and scheduled songs of I Love My Body and another and instead choose to dedicate this one to him showed her courage to call out the systems that let him down!!! I cried my eyes out, without knowing the words, because she sang with such deep emotion and it was heartbreakingly somber!!!!! She is a purely beautiful strong woman!!
