as a new dark tetra main, and new dualie user in general, who just got back from and now stuck in S rank, this video is truly a godsend (also with your other videos, ofc)
I never really understood the whole "this map is good/bad for (blank) weapon" until i played an Undertow/Humpback rotation with Dualie Squelchers.. The contrast was brutally obvious.
I remember when I was excited for flounder heights coming to the game, thinking about how much fun it could possibly be with dualies and the squid surge... It sucks that it didn't live up to it's expectations
During the dapple duallies segment you mention that flounder is considered one of the worst maps in the game? Is this for dualies or in terms of fun I’m so confused?
It’s what we call a “fall from grace” The huge right flank is gone so it’s much easier for a team to abuse the height advantage they get and lockout their opponents Zones is pretty much the only good mode on this map as the rail can be useful to throw bombs onto one of the zones and it’s generally the easiest to retake on Tower is horrendous, the tower path goes straight down the ramp instead of to the side like in splatoon 1 so it’s harder for the defenders to access the tower Rainmaker has pretty much the same problem but with a mobile objective, at least here you get 2 pedestals to choose from so the defenders can counter it Clams is arguably the worst mode on flounder however, as the ramp problem from tower control is at its worst here, defenders trying to stop clams being scored are pretty much forced into enemy sight lines giving them nowhere to hide
Flounder overall is one of the wrost maps, ESPECIALLY when compared to S1 flounder... You could retreat from bunker in S1 - They removed it Your base had a right side flank and a solid snipe area on left in S1 - They removed that too The objectives (Tower and rainmaker) we're generally a lot better in S1 -> Tower being in the trench which is arguably a lot better compared to being on top of the middle grates cuz it made the mode a downhill sweep. -> Rainmaker being an ez downhill sweep too since checkpoints are one easy cannonball away from securing.. It's generally a lot easier to spawn camp in S3 flounder compared to S1's where you had a lot of high ground in ur base to counter it..
@@Crafty_boy70Nah, it's good for dapples because it's not a necessity to have range (especially when fighting in mid) Fighting as a mid range weapon on flounder can feel awkward and redundant to have
As someone who mains Dualie Squelchers, I will not be accepting Wahoo World as an answer to the question provided. You can't make me. Okay, I understand why Wahoo World is there, but I still don't like it.
Competetive dapple player here, my favorite map is flounder heights and wahoo world because all the diffrent ways i can go. But wahoo was the first map i played on competetively and i practice on wahoo because its a bad map for short rangers and you dont expect dapples killing it there.
I’m sorry chase I gotta disagree on humpback with dapples. I’ve had those bad boys 5 starred for over a year now and pumptrack is still a groaner. Those level changes are not conducive to its short range I end up spamming torp way more to peek hills while I take an extra nano second to adjust high or low cause of the transition.
It's pretty commonly agreed upon in the competitive scene that Humpback is one of the few viable maps for Dapples. Not sure what you're doing exactly in your gameplay so I can't give any tips but it's very easy to just roll on the slops and close distance. its range is short enough that you don't end up shooting the slopes, contrary to the other dualies
@@Chase247 Probably the biggest I could chalk it up to is solo queue. Honestly when I think about it rainmaker and blitz has been pretty viable on this map. Maybe I was hasty thinking about zones immediately, I definitely just don’t like zones on pumptrack and that’s a personal opinion of the map. Cool to have that dialogue within the morning of the vid coming out, you are quick sir.
Hot take but I think Flounder is a good douser map too. With experience the initially awkward terrain becomes manageable, tri strike is very strong on that map, and a fair amount of weapons that are annoying for douser to fight end up struggling on flounder to a greater degree.
I was wondering why my grind to top 500 with dapples went so wrongly. you see, I looked at my stats from splatoon 2 and Found out that i had won in a Clams game with v dapple. I did NOT consider that the map that i had won within the last 50 battles in that game (before 3) was gobi arena, a map with 'ALOT OF SLOPES' the rotation of my x battle grind session was clams wahoo and clams humback, one of the reasons why i looked at my sploon 2 stats in the first place. but on TOP of teamates not passing clams, there was also a series of disconnects with 1 GUY BEING THE HOST RAGE QUIT from my dapple play (i dodged in the opposing direction of the target's flick) and on wahoo world no less adding to my pain and suffering. Then i swapped to wellstring V lost the first match with it but won 3 other games. And safe to say after reflecting on this AND the information provided above. I PROBABLY should have used something like Tetras or CDS.

I’m so glad we agree on the dapple dualie maps lol. I knew I wasn’t crazy for picking NDapple on Ramen Zones
What’s funny is one day I was just playing custom dualie squelchers on crableg without knowing anything and I think I got 6 knockouts in a row
Fire video chase!
hi
I’d love to see more in-depth guides to each of the dualies!
I never considered maps strengthening duallies like other weapons. Great vid, chase!

Fighting as a mid range weapon on flounder can feel awkward and redundant to have
It’s fine in clam blitz, but it’s very heavily attacker-sided favored. Which makes it not very usable in comp.
I personally hate flounder, regardless of what weapon I play, but I think rainmaker is the best mode for flounder
I needed this video so bad😭
Chase, the art looks SO good how do you get them? Do you draw them or do you get the art from somewhere else?
Link to art is in descriptions:)
It crazy to see old barnacle lol

Haha well the person who gave me that info for dualie squelchers is a world champion so might want to reconsider 😂
I waited so long for this, good video I think you should really expand on this video idea
The editing was SLICK and very well done
Also, do you have any stages that you like but arent viable for dualies?
Yooo Freedom buzz dance goes so hard for persona 5 strikers 🗣️🗣️🔥
I thought I had risk of rain open when I heard coalesence in the bg😂
so chase music tier list when?
Soon😊

Do these lists apply for all game modes or only zones?
All game modes
Yesterday I tried Douser Dualies again during a Humpback Pumptrack rotation 😭😭😭😭 definitely one of the worst maps for it
gonna act like this applies to brushes
MAKo-mart & cheese

i wonder who is better 🤔
I am super confused, watching ur vids like I main enperry does that count as splat??? i think it does but idk :)

Who tf is saying flounder is the worst map in the game?💀
Literally the entire competitive community lmao
Casually it's fine though
