We've finally started traveling a little outside the theme parks and i have to say there's just so much beauty in Florida. The manatee are definitely a favorite for us.
Indeed! We love the theme parks - but there really is a lot of natural beauty to take in. We are thinking of checking out the Florida Keys next. It was very cool seeing a manatee swim by up close to our boat. Hopefully one day we will get to the spring in colder months some day to try to see hundreds more enjoying the spring. How did I miss this one? Im terrified of any water in FL, except their beaches. I'd love to see manatees. Ginger os threatening to make us go to a spring. I don't want to be anywhere near gators, but still interesting to see, along with all the other wildlife. I couldn't bring myself to swim there, even though it seems relatively safe. The house tour looks really cool. Sorry you missed the gift shop, but glad you enjoyed your day!
My favorite state park! We love coming when the manatees are all huddled there, we saw over 600 once! Such a beautiful spot in nature, glad you came to explore it! I've never done the bout tour, sounds cool!

This was a really fun afternoon at the park. It is always great to see some wildlife up close (though at a safe distance). Exploring the historic home and seeing the beautiful natural spring were great. Thanks for watching and commenting!
We definitely recommend Blue Spring. This may not be the best year to go in the summer since swimming and snorkeling won't be allowed as they are building up the banks of the spring. But definitely a good manatee watching spot in the winter. And summer activities should return to normal next year. The boat tour is definitely a highlight. Manatees are wonderful gentle creatures and we too have been lucky enough to see them is several locations while wandering in Florida. We do enjoy exploring beautiful State Parks in Florida. It looked a lovely boat ride on the river. Love seeing the wildlife where possible.

I couldn’t imagine being there when 100s of manatees were there. I still haven’t seen one in the wild so you’re one up on me there. Looked like a cool tour and $35 for a 2 hour tour sounds reasonable.
Yeah, I wish we could have visited a little earlier in the season where we could have seen that spring filled with manatees. It was still cool even though we only got to see one up close - and a few others off in the distance. We have found most state parks we have visited to have very reasonable prices. Seeing the beautiful natural spring was really cool. Would have been cooler with 900 manatees though. Thanks for watching and commenting!
We just loved our spring visit to Florida. We stayed in a Ft. De Soto county near Clearwater. We loved exploring this part of Florida and can not wait to explore more of the state.
We love any kind of visit to Florida - except summer visits to Florida. That place gets very hot. We will definitely have to visit the Ft De Soto/Clearwater area some day. We just Googled it since you mentioned it in your comment and it looks lovely. There are lots of places we still want to see in Florida... the Everglades, the Florida Keys, Daytona Beach, Destin Beach... lots of good reasons to plan future trips. 900!! WOW!!! We feel like any body of water in Florida has gators in it so no swimming for us LOL!! How do people go kayaking where all those gators are??
Yeah, I actually just went kayaking for the very first time in a river near where we live with some friends. It was so much fun. But there is just NO way I would ever try it in the gator infested waters of Florida. And swimming in that water is even more unlikely. The water does look clear and refreshing in this spring. But especially now that we took that boat tour of the area and saw all those gators- no. But I would love to get to Florida a little earlier sometime and see what the spring looks like filled with manatees. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Florida is always fun but those 🐊 scare me. For places like this people just swim with gators and they treat them more like squirrels. This has been high on my list. I think I would stick with boat tour you guys took. You git lucky with that manatee shot. The historic area is pretty cool. Thanks for the tour.

Blue Springs is one of the Springs I haven’t been to. Where’s Waldo 😂 nice tour around this beautiful place.

We love Blue Springs! We went in January when there were over 900 manatees there. So cool to see!
