I bought the blue one last year, I love it, I don’t baby my watch’s I wear them when working, I never take them off, I also sleep with them on, it’s really the perfect all around watch.
I bought my Seamaster last summer and watched your review countless times before finally pulling the trigger. So glad to see you are still enjoying this superb watch!
I have the black dial and never once regretted it. I’m maybe in the minority but I prefer a non tapered bracelet- it’s already only 20 mm so it’s the right size for this large watch. Putting it on a taper - nah just doesn’t work for me. I also switch it up with rubber strap from zealande which is really nice but to me right now the bracelet looks the best. So elegant. So cool. Can wear with a t-shirt or a formal suit .
I have the bracelet and the rubber strap from Omega for my blue one. The bracelet is build as a tank. It's so high quality I love it. And the rubber looks awesome and is the best rubber strap I had so far.
Same thing happened to me. I couldn't decide between the white and black for almost 8 month. Went AD several times, each time preference changed, then picked the black one at last. The reflective gloss ceramic finish is the beauty of this particular time piece, and indexes look much more detailed and elegant. Strap options are way better on black as it is more uniform and constant color. White one has the beautiful contrast, but there are other watches you can get to focus on the contrast part. Black is unique and beautiful in its own.
Yes you really need to view watches in the metal. Thought I loved the green diver 300 until I saw it next to the white and the summer blue. The only problem is there was a PO 600m on display in summer blue and it was this watch that stole my heart. It’s currently been on my wrist for the last 10 days and has only gained 2 seconds in that time. It also has an Artem hybrid strap attached. Not the cheapest straps but look fabulous and really comfortable.
I love my black smp. Looks amazing on the nato, mesh and even Barton leather straps. I get +1 sec /day. And if I set it on down for an occasional day off it’s about +10 sec/ month. Stunning accuracy and beauty
Have a black Artem loop-less (stainless steel) with a blue face Omega Seamaster Professional and love it. Wear the strap and Seamster in the pool with zero worries.
This is the first time I came across your channel. As soon as the video started I (being Greek) instinctively thought: "huh, this dude could easily pass for a Greek guy"... and then you said you were, and I subscribed on the spot 😄 Of course it didn't hurt that the video is really well done, or that we share extremely similar ownership journeys of the black SMP. Looking forward to exploring more of your content, keep it up.
10:09 damn you’re not kidding when you said you’re working in the heavy industry 💪😂 yeah I’m all set on Artem straps, they are worth it even for my Swatch Scuba 👌
Just like you I watched reviews and pictures and loved the white dial version. Then I went to try it on and... for some reason I didn't like it. I tried on the black one and to my surprise I really liked it. I thought the black one was the worst one of them. Too... ordinary. But when I tried it on it really changed my mind, it's a very, VERY good looking watch. However, I have my mind set on the summer blue version. That is definitely the very best version to me. The regular one with the raised indices allow it to have a 3D effect when light hits it sideways but on the summer blue the dial pops as well and it's just fantastic. Now if I only I could afford one. My goal is still to get one eventually but I am not quite there yet. Now one last thing. I noticed on your video you opened up the diver's extension on the bracelet. That is super weird because the SMP bracelet features the glide/lock mechanism that allows you to actually re-size the watch on the fly without having to fully extend the fixed-length diver's extension (like my Tag Heuer Aquaracer and Longines Hydroconquest - yes I am a fan of diver watches and as you said that's a whole different conversation but my whole wish list (and current small collection) is based entirely on dive watches). So I found that super weird on your review. Anyways keep up the good content. Cheers!
Black all the way with bracelet . just bought a omega rubber strap Very happy with it . Next Goal is to get mesh bracelet , all because of your channel haha
I have the Grey Dial Chronograph variant. I absolutely love it. The blue subdials really make it pop & the 9900 calibre is an absolute horological beast. I have it on an OEM blue rubber strap, which interestingly isn’t an off the peg option, but it’s an incredible package at a mere 144g. Also have a Blue denim dial Railmaster. Two unpopular Omega models which in someways represents the best of Omega. 😊
Hi Steve, great video! Would you mind telling us how or even if the black dial changes depending on the lighting please? I only ask as I had the blue version in 2019 and was so disappointed at how light the dial turned when wearing it on a sunny day, for example. I didn’t like that as I prefer darker colours and the black would be perfect. Some articles on the watch have described the dial as an inky black which looks slightly dark blue in some lights which again is perfect. I just don’t want to risk being disappointed again. Thanks for reading this. 🙂
It does reflect the light differently depending on the light source and angle. I'm pretty sure it's just the material and wave pattern. I would look into the 60th anniversary Bond or Summer Blue line up!
No, that's just BS made up to discredit Omega doing whilst another main competitor doesn't do it. Omega isn't even the only brand doing it, there are others watch makers doing AR on top, buuut, they're not in the same competition, so, no complaining.
I've seen videos that show swirl marks under macro photography but you'll never see it with the naked eye. The trade off of possible swirl marks for a crystal clear view is worth it IMO.
Bro Omega and Artem needs to give you a commission. Literally watched this video like 6 times and decided to purchase the black dial and ordered the tan artem strap! I can’t wait to get my first luxury watch!
This watch is one of the best on the market. I had the black on rubber in 2019 kept for 3 years and sold it when I moved house to pay for building work. Since then I bought a grandseiko and a rolex airking. I'm missing my seamaster ...Sellers remorse here
i have same 1 with sedna gold blk rubber strap but am saving for planet ocean 43.5mm all gold sedna blue ceramic dial 32k. i have wear my OMEGA for 4yrs straight now wash it everyday and airblow it dry it and man its a beast. you need to buy the OMEGA mens cologne its smells lika millionares cologne buy it at your local AD.
I get the argument about the price point but I would compare it to a strap that is comparable to an offering from Omega, which is in the same ballpark price wise or even cheaper. I wouldn't buy this strap for a watch that costs $300 but for a 5-6k watch, I think it works well! Thanks for the comment!
Oh dear. A clasic example of how crazy us watch nuts are. A $5,600 dive watch, that will likely never go more than 3m, let alone 300. Warn mainly as a dress watch/status symbol, on a $200 plastic strap.😂
@@stevepapa You must! The irony being that most recreational divers are restricted to 30m, with only commercial 'saturation' divers typically working at less than 100! The other irony being that the vast majority of divers these days, wear a specific dive computer while diving (nromally plastic, costing less than $500), not a luxury watch.🤣 I think modern, luxury 'dive watches' are redundant at his point, although fair to say pioneers like Jacques Cousteau are well documented wearing Rollex, Omega and Blancpain. Your smp is a great watch btw. Fantastic movement. I have an earlier model but like you, I work with my hands, so it doesn't get much wrist time. Tbh, I prefer lighter, quartz 'set n forgets' with solar, radio and perpetual calenders.👍

I couldn't agree more!
Black dial with red tip on seconds hand is a great look. And what I have. I agree, you are in the minority on the bracelet though.
@@mema4922 have you even really seen it in person? Or just your impressions from TH-cam
I have the bracelet and the rubber strap from Omega for my blue one. The bracelet is build as a tank. It's so high quality I love it. And the rubber looks awesome and is the best rubber strap I had so far.
@@mema4922 I really love the watch and band. It works for me and I’m grateful to own it
This video just sold me on the black dial. I’ve been so back and forth on white or black. But strap options look better on the black dial!

great review..I personally love the look of the no taper bracelet...makes it look more beefy, tough, and masculine...
I agree!
Great vid 💯
Thank you!
Hi Steve how big is your wrist? With the loop less strap would I be close to the last hole with a 7.5 inch wrist?
I have a 7.5" wrist and they fit perfectly fine!
@@stevepapa thanks will order one soon!
@@stevepapa which hole are you on the strap? Last or second to last?
@@ASB88 if you go to 10:30 in the video you can see but it's on the second to last hole.

Love the straps. Might buy one for my Seamaster 300M. Which color do you think will look cool on a blue dial SMP?
The sand beige or grey would work well IMO!
Please tell me if this (3 year-old) watch is the 41mm variant??????? Thanks!
This is 42mm in diameter

Nice Steve. How often do you get it serviced seeing you were it daily?
How much are the service fees?
I haven't had it serviced yet! It still runs great!
I have the OG blue dial but wish I would have got the white dial after seeing it in person.
Seeing watches in the metal is key!
Hmm, I think the blue will stand the test of time, whites a bit trendy, in my opinion, a bit like white cars!
I'm a Greek Omega fanboy too brotha, so I get it! 😅
hahaha right!
I have the blue one and love the bracelet, too. It's a nice contrast with the jubilee and oyster braclets I have on some of my Rolexes.
One of the most unique bracelets on the market!
