Loved the laughter crossing the bogs.

It was great fun, and that was hot dry weather. Really don't know how people cross when it's been raining lots ☔

Not quite downhill all the way to RHB, you are forgetting the steep uphill climb out of Kirkby Stephens to Nine Standards. Tony in Essex (Twice completed the C2C)

The route over High Raise is slightly higher than Kidsty - we went that way to avoid the step decent and the endless slog along Haweswater - a good choice.
I disappeared up to my thigh in one of those bogs, but on getting to Ravenseat the heavens opened but by the time I got to Keld all the peat had been washed off.
End of May, beginning of June was tremendous weather - I was walking the Dales Highway early June - backs of my legs were much browner than the fronts as the sun was always behind us. lol

We were recommended that route instead of Haweswater as we were told it was difficult in certain places with a heavy rucksack.
Unlike you we were very lucky with the bogs and we certainly hit on with the weather as we had no rain for a fortnight

Hi Graeme I’m enjoying you adventure, how many miles were you and Ian averaging per day? What was your longest and shortest days cheers mate.

Thanks, I think on average it was about 13 to 14 miles per day but obviously when you aren't wild camping you have to match the miles with the availability of campsites etc. Our longest day was appx 20 miles as we decided to push on to a campsite we hadn't booked but we both found it a hard day as it was so hot
