I've started this channel as a memory bank of hobbies I enjoy doing. It's mostly outdoor pursuits with Fishing, kayaking, Walking and Camping my favourites and if I share these videos hopefully someone will enjoy them as much as I made them it will be all good

I have been asked by loads of people how i lift my heavy Viking Profish Reload Kayak onto the roof of my Nissan Navaro Pickup by myself. So on the morning that I was dropping it off to the person I sold it to I eventually got my finger out and put it to video, hope this helps.

Great set of videos well-done, to you both.
Thanks, kind words indeed
It looks like you are progressing nicely. If you fancy paddling Scarborough, Filey or Flamborough in the future, we would be happy to welcome you in the group. We have some well seasoned paddlers with us who could help you progress and we paddle most weekends.
Thank you, that's very kind of you and I'll bare it in mind if I'm down that area Graeme
Hello! Is the VIRGO MV or HV version?
It's the MV
was going to do this, this year and injured my knee, gutted. Thanks for sharing!
is this in the ocean?
This is the North Sea of the Northumberland Coast in England
Nice one, thank you for showing the route up. It’s on my list of places to camp 👍
It's a great wild camp if you are short on time, thanks for watching
Done it twice, both times perfect weather. Yea, I'm lucky. Sometimes.
I know an Ashington accent when I hear one
Wrong, Blyth 🤣
Fantastic, well done lads! Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk is on my list ... quite a few friends have already done it and loved it. Thank you for sharing your walk.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed watching
Well done lads👏🏻
Hi Graeme I’m enjoying you adventure, how many miles were you and Ian averaging per day? What was your longest and shortest days cheers mate.
Thanks, I think on average it was about 13 to 14 miles per day but obviously when you aren't wild camping you have to match the miles with the availability of campsites etc. Our longest day was appx 20 miles as we decided to push on to a campsite we hadn't booked but we both found it a hard day as it was so hot
Your getting better 😅😅😂
Better at falling off!
I know the dimension differences, but any comment on the advantages of virgo vs leo?
As we are both pretty new to Sea Kayaking we both love our newly aquired Kayaks but I suppose the obvious ones are the weight difference and the length for storage. They both roll really well and are really seaworthy boats
I thoroughly enjoyed that! 👍 It looks like you both enjoyed some great weather on your trip. Thanks again gentlemen and here’s to more adventures.
Always nice to hear. The weather was unbelievable for a whole fortnight, didn't have to wear my coat through the daytime but can't ever see that happening again!
I love you dog <3
As a dopey American, I need to watch this with subtitles. What part of the UK are ya'll from?
Hilarious, we are in the North of England near Newcastle and appx 50 miles from Scotland. Around here it's known as a Geordie accent Thanks for watching and hopefully come over sometime Atb Graeme and Ian
Very well done, brings back nice memories from my own C2C last May. The weather was ideal.
@@thegreatexaggerator9077 Thankyou, I think we were very lucky. Great weather for you especially the distance you travelled to get over here
Well done m8

I want to know who counted those steps 😂 well done lads
Ha ha, too right!
Amazing to see the Coast to Coast in good weather - I did it last May and it wasn't like that.
Think we were very lucky, can't ever see that happening again
It’s not dangerous that decent it’s just a bit horrendous 😂
Nice work 👍
Thank you 🙂
@@gw6797 always love a bit of surf... Shout out if you're ever in the south.
@@GoneKayaking Very kind of you, would love too
Loved the laughter crossing the bogs.
It was great fun, and that was hot dry weather. Really don't know how people cross when it's been raining lots ☔
Great Video, i am looking to do this walk in 2025 after doing my first LDW Cumbria Way. but your meals did not look great and not enough calories ..I think I will stick with Adventure foods high calorie foods
They were called Tent Meals and were actually 800 cals but we didn't rough it as we had bar meals when we came across Pubs, thanks for the compliment
Great video! I am going to get some thigh braces for my Viking kayak Nemo to play in the surf in 3 weeks.
Excellent, I have just bought the Viking Profish 400 so will be doing the same 👍
@@gw6797 Is it the latest version with the oval hatch like on the Profish Reload? They are great kayaks! I had the Ozzie previously and now the Nemo for playing by the shore.
@@kayakintro I have just sold my Profish Reload and had my name down for the new version but a second hand one came up at a fair price so probably saved a bit of cash
@@gw6797 The new version doesn't feel that revolutionary, which is fine as the Reload is pretty good as it is. All new versions had their prices going up here in NZ, and not by a tiny bit! I believe my NZ$750 Nemo went up to $900, and absolutely nothing changed! They haven't changed their price for a few years so it isn't that unfair but it still hurts!
Great watch Graham especially in the scupper, good to see your still chucking yourself in 😂👍
Cheers Pete it was great fun and that's the first time I've surfed the Spro with the Thigh braces and certainly made a difference. The waves weren't big but they were great for us novices as they were not dumping. You Brian and Davey should join me sometime. I was Knackered too 😂
@@gw6797 would love too, got some thigh braces.
Not quite downhill all the way to RHB, you are forgetting the steep uphill climb out of Kirkby Stephens to Nine Standards. Tony in Essex (Twice completed the C2C)
I know, it all became apparent 🤣
So far I have done this twice, the first time just before I joined the Army in 1976 at the age of 21, 10 days camping every night with a 30kg backpack. The next crossing was 9 years later at the age of 30, this time from East to West and again a 30kb backpack and a 40kg Still Camera backpack and tripod. Now age 67 planning to do it again next year (2024). LOVED every step of the way apart from the section over Nine Standards too boggy and too windy, a very relaxing two week hike. Tony in Essex
Wow that's one hell of a weight for a backpack, you must have been super fit. Brilliant at 67,, to do it again as it's always good to have a mission in life
Did you do it, Tony?
@@mikebreen2890 Still a couple of weeks yet before I start hiking, began is packed overnight coach booked, so its just a case of waiting until the 1st of August before I start again on my THRID Coast to Coast. Tony in Essex.
Great vid👍🏼. Mates with a dog doing the WHW😊. New subscriber here 👍🏼. Now did you prep food b4 departure? If so how'd you do that? Food looked 😋. 👍🏼
My dog Smudge is a great mate 🐶👍. I'm lucky that my wife is a fantastic cook. I didn't bring too much food as you aren't far from civilisation but she had made the sausage cassoulet and dehydrated it in the Ninja and I sealed in a vacuum food sealer which are really handy. This was done because of the possibility of hotel being shut on Loch lomand like the previous year. Many thanks for the Sub too 🙂
Looked great!
Thanks, although the tree incident wasn't! 😁
@@gw6797 "Shit, shit, shit!" is an incantation I have used on many an occasion. It has worked so far. 😀
@@graceygrumble Most definitely 🤣
This was a great summary of the walk. I finished this month and I enjoyed seeing it in May. You guys are fast.
Thanks for that, nice to put down for our memories and other people to enjoy
Well done guys 💪💪💪 really enjoyed watching your journey. Im slowly planning my quest .
Thanks for watching and good luck with the planning, you'll love it
Absolutely class this mate wowza tjose rapids were a bit mental .....watch oot for that tree 🤣🤣🤣
Well done to both of you. Looks like the weather was kind to you Enjoyed watching your journey.👍
Thanks Ian, the weather was unbelievable. Could have left my waterproofs 🤣
How old was the dog when you did it? I've a 9 year old lakeland terrier
Smudge was 7 years old. I won't be taking her on any more though as the WHW was quite hard on her paws, fitness wise she was ok
People think the climbing is over when you leave the lakes, but that is one tough day
Yes I know now, thought it would be plain sailing but definitely not
Loving your videos bringing back great memories 😅
Thanks for that, glad you are enjoying them. It's nice for all our memories
Yes this LDF is one of my favourites with the coast on both sides and the wonderful Richmond town half way across. Highly recommend
Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
Absolutely loved this whole series. Did the walk solo E to W in May 22, didn't think it was life changing at the time, but all I seem to think about is doing it again. Doing the Herriot way in a couple of weeks with a friend, if all goes well C to C again next year. Bloody well done the pair of you.
Thanks Graham, I can see me thinking along the same lines too. Good look with the Herriot way, looks like a nice walk
Loved all your videos just brilliant. I did it in 1986 with my father. Has brought back loads of lovely memories. Shame Go Pros weren't around then .
Thanks for your kind words. I've always taken photos but video definitely takes you back in time and makes a great memory
What a class way to end the trip Graeme!! Me n Dan watched every second of the whole trip felt like we were there too. Absolutely class mate well done to you and Ian ! Especially with hus bad bavk n feet..ATB Simon p.s...... whats next?
Thanks for watching, didn't really think anyone would want to watch it for that long. Not be long for your West Highland way trip now and definitely look forward to that video. Not sure what's next, think I need a kick up the backside and things keep getting in the way
@@gw6797 me n Dan loved it mate absolutely class. All your vuds are. Yeah still planning on WHW it'll be October like to hopefully avoid the dreaded midge. Looking forward to seeing your next vid 👍
Thanks Richard glad to hear you enjoyed them. Sounds like a plan and add a few more miles on to take you over the 200 mile Mark
Really enjoyed these videos. Almost 12 months since I did the walk - next time I think I'll do E to W and then walk the 5 miles home from St Bees at the end.
Some serious distance in some serious hot weather Graeme..... Hard graft indeed. Loving these videos as always mate feel like I'm along with you without the sire legs n feet 🤣🤣🤣 ATB Simon
Thanks again Simon, we were lucky indeed with the weather although a bit to warm for hiking
Lovely trip out for you. Plenty of fresh air in the lungs. First time watching just subscribed.
Thanks you have a new Sub too 😁
Yes mate..... I'll watch shortly....looking forward to this 👍👍👍
