Super Mario Sunshine: A Tropical and Relaxing Nightmare

Summer is coming up, and you know what that means. Mosquitos come to haunt your days, the heat will melt your skin, and it's time for a vacation. Mario Sunshine is the Mario vacation game, filled with... interesting design choices. Is the game even good, despite all of these. Does the game hold up to the standards set by Mario 64 only a few years prior?

This was a wonderful analysis to start my day with. I salivate when someone has this much to say about a memorable staple in gaming history. Keep this up, friend. I put an unhealthy amount of time into this game. I think its contributed a lot to my challenge and soulsborne addiction

The fludd system is hard to get used to and the level unlock system feels clunkier than even 64, but it’s got a real place in my heart and the vibes are immaculate. Soundtrack slaps and it’s just silly which is charming and for better or worse, never made another that came close to the same feel. 🏝️☀️

Mario Sunshine has some of the snappiest controls and movement in any 3D platformer that I've played. I just wished I liked the game surrounding it as much as I like the movement.
