  • As I am on a minimalist EDC kick of late, figured I would give this one a try. I wanted to answer the question of how small of a knife could I get, that actually worked with my large hands?
    It has to be one handed opening and closing, locking, and give me a full fingered grip.
    Does this one make the cut?

    The df2 punches way above its weight, bought it thinking I’d just keep it in my collection but it turned out to be my companion knife for about 2 years, it was always with me till I went back to carrying bigger beefier knives again. Definitely a hall of famer.

    My brother got me one of these. Though I lost it at work a few months after I got it. I didn't realize what I lost till I misplaced it. I loved the small size of it and how perfect it was for my right pocket for quick access. It also worked great for athletic shorts due to its low weight. I'm definitely going to have to buy another one of these and keep a closer eye on it

    It's a killer little knife! Quickly became my favorite, and so easy to always carry...

    I love my Baby Banters (I own 3 of them), which is a very tiny knife with a four finger grip. It looks like a toy but isn't.

      True! But it does work if you travel to a place like Chicago where you are not allowed to conceal a blade longer than 2.5 inches...

    The dragonfly is my everyday carry. I remove the clip and the knife disappears in your pocket!

      They are amazing little knives. When I have to travel, I tend to pack something more discreet in my checked luggage... I just went to Vegas, and this time I took that. Really nice and discreet and effective little knife that doesn't attract any attention, and does the job...

    The H1 salt serrated is my favorite version of this knife. I’m not a big fan of the yellow FRN though but a rit dye job to your choice of color can solve that.

    i still think a knife this size is all most people need for a day to day tool. how much cutting do you do every day that needs a bigger knife?

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I tend to agree. I think that there is something comforting with a larger, more substantial knife... Like you feel that you are better prepared for whatever comes your way... but the reality is that most of the time a 2" blade does everything you actually do on a daily basis.

      @@SquireSCA yep, besides, the 1oz blade you always have with you is better than the big heavy one you left at home.

    Thanks,, you've just convinced me to buy one of these, if they did it in S110v, it would be just about perfect, but I've no problem with vg10, it takes a screaming edge,, and I'm not a fan of the rust attracting k390,, ps,, I've tried to find that Zome version over here in England, but I'll be happy with the basic black one,, great video,,
    ps just subbed,, 👍

    Have the manbug in k390. Got it for the steel. Smaller than the dragonfly. Too small really. But still kinda cool!

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      They are cool little knives... When you have to go as discrete as possible, but still have something that's actually useful, the Dragonfly 2 is hard to beat.
      I can't wait to see the new Victorinox knife-less models... I like the idea of something like the Deluxe Tinker or Swiss Champ, but without blades... have that in the bottom of your pocket for all your EDC tool needs, and then carry a Dragonfly 2 or Delica or something like a Bugout for knife things. Best of both worlds.

    I carry mine in my 5th pocket. And yes. Since it’s so light, if I am carrying a larger knife, fixed or folding, a DF2 stays in my pocket.

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that's a perfect idea actually... Keep it safe and protected and out of the way of the larger pocket knife or multi tool...

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, personally I reach for the Delica more than the Dragonfly, but there are times when you need to go absolutely as discreet and small as possible, but still want a legit useful blade, and I think that is where the smaller one shines.

      @@SquireSCA true and a smaller knife for some People isnt so scared also its better for sociale situations its better

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, and because it is so small, it pairs well with a SAK, and you don't have then rubbing on each other and scratching each other up as much... put the SAK in the bottom of your pocket and clip the Dragonfly 2 up at the top of the pocket, and you can keep them in the same pocket but sorta separate...

    Do you think it'd be worth paying the extra $30 on knifecenter for the k390 blade material version?

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, knife steel is largely personal preference. Nothing wrong with VG10.

    • @ink281
      @ink281 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, as he says there's nothing wrong with VG10 but k390 is significantly Superior in my view, I feel it's definitely worth the $30 upgrade

    I had a stainless handled Dragonfly. It really makes it a more substantial knife, to the point that when I later got a frn version, I sent it back because it seemed wimpy
    Lately, I've been enjoying my Civivi Baby Banter, which is similar in length (2⅓" blade), but a bit more conventional in shape.
