Funny you say that because about a year ago I did create a brand new universal material. And I designed it so that it would have a compatible set of shaders for unreal. There are some betas in the existing product. Even so, I do continue to update the existing product and it's one of the reasons why it's on Google drive so you can automatically get any materials I add within 48 hours after I add them.

Yes, if you purchased kid ops Pro previously you only need to pay a small $10 upgrade fee. Go to the tit ops 3 Pro page on blender Market or gum road for details. Also, you might check your email as I did send out notes to all customers

I am sorry, but I am not happy. I will not support a program that after paying $35 not so long ago states that it will not support future Blender versions, and then deprecates the software. What happens if I upgrade my version 2pro to version 3, and then Blender 4.3 is released (or even Blender 5), and then I will need to upgrade again. At least Kit Ops 2 Pro should have been maintained to keep it’s functionality to a full Blender upgrade. I think I may let this product fall by the wayside.
I am sorry you feel that way. I launched KIT OPS Pro 6 years ago. Since then I have created over 30 upgrades and have never charged for them a single time. I pay developers thousands of dollars each month to improve it and keep it current with the latest Blender versions. I work to keep the documentation and videos up to date and provide a discord where I strive to help people with problems and provide support.
I understand the cost of continued development, but kit ops has not been updated since Blender 3.5. I paid $35 not so long ago. I assumed that kit ops would be kept updated to work with the most recent version of Blender, at least until a new version of Blender was released that broke kit ops completely. I don’t mind paying $10 more for extra features, but not to keep the functionality of the existing version. I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that part of my original $35 would be used to keep kit ops current. You may have been developing kit ops for 6 years, but people who have purchased it recently have an expectation of future support.

I bought Flip Fluids, Botaniq, box cutter and Hard Ops a year before I bought Kit Ops in 2022, and they are all still providing upgrades for their add-ons, maybe that will change soon.
Yeah, that's a really good way of looking at it, except that when you save it it does not save it in your local file. But it's easy to replace as all you need to do is select your insert and use the replace function in kit ops and it will replace it with the one you just fixed. That's a very good analogy, do you mind if I use that?
