    That’s some great info Neah.. thx for taking all that time and effort to put together for us 😊 A couple weeks ago I ordered another side of local beef that I’m still waiting on, ( takes up to a month to get your order ) I told them specifically, when you process that beef do not trim the fat, do not trim the steaks or the roasts… trim nothing ! I want all the fat kept on everything… the guy was acting like I was a bit crazy but said ok.. lol

      Bill, he was probably thinking of the profits he was going to lose by not being able to sell that fat to someone else. They charge you hanging weight then sell the fat and suet that you've already paid for. It's not a big deal for most folks but us crazy people want all that fat. 😉

    I've been tracking macros since Jan 1st, and like you realize that the best we can do is estimate how much fat and protein we're consuming. I have to work at upping my fat intake to 80% but I'm trying. Eating egg yolks only and a LOT of fatty lamb is helping Thanks for another great video! Also, I use Yoga Nidra also called Non-sleep deep rest for short naps.

    Your skin and eyes are radiating with health. Have to say you look insanely healthy and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your carnivore journey 🙏. I am enjoying the journey myself, I want to cut other things out and stick with the Lion Diet for a while. The most important thing to invest in is ourselves.

    Neah, I started Lion about 6 weeks ago, and I gave up coffee about a month ago (cold turkey...ouch!), but replaced it with bone broth. I spoon about 3-4 tsp of saved beef/lamb drippings into mug, fill halfway with broth, and top with water. I add a nice pinch of Redmond's and a micro pinch of garlic powder (for depth). I heat mine in the microwave for speed, and use a frother on the surface. So good!! I've been carnivore for 9 months and saw some results with my severe psoriasis (much worse than yours or @delightedtomeatyou), but am seeing a much faster healing now, especially after giving up coffee. Kind of a bummer for me....but I'd rather have my skin back!

    Hi I was waking up around 1 and 3am and feeling wide awake when I started carnivore. I researched what I could do, and I started to drink half glass of whole organic milk and half a banana before bed and I don't wake up anymore during the night and feel well rested in the am. I hope this helps someone because I know how frustrating it is to not get a full night's rest.

    Wow… I really learned a lot from this video Neah… Thanks SOOO much for the great info!
    I have also noticed that when I up the fat in my diet, my joints, particularly my knees, hurt less or not at all. Also, my mental clarity, focus and energy is better too.
    I have suffered from lifelong bipolar depression, anxiety and ADHD which has been in complete remission (and off all meds!!) and these conditions went away after only a few months when I adopted a PHD a yr ago (which for me was keto and then transitioned to ketovore after 6 mos.).
    I find that if I keep my fat levels up, my symptoms are minimal if not gone totally, but if I’m not careful and don’t eat enough fat, I don’t feel as well mentally or physically. Also, I tend to sleep better with higher fat in my diet.
    It’s all of this super interesting and fascinating Neah??!!
    Take care and best of luck and success in your and your family’s health journeys!😊😊

    If our bodies are in fat burning mode, then fat must supply the energy for all body processes, or gluconeogenesis will. Then if we're insulin resistant - especially brain IR - our mental and physical energy will plummet. Perhaps indicating the necessity for fasting insulin blood work; but without it recognising our felt energy level could be lack of enough fat. Also docs like Chaffee say that there is no such thing as 'too much fat'; and that our bodies will eliminate excess fat through the colon.

    nice video, very detailed. im doing keto carnivore/gaps. but a bit higer protein and costantly in gluconeogenesis eating muscle, i was doing high fat a year ago but gained some fat and after holiday never came back to it but now i think its time

    Yes! I also upped my fat and track my macros now doing 75 to 25 fat to protein but had to increase protein as I was I was under eating and waking up 1-3 am hungry. I also now add 1/4-1/3 cup of carbs (drenched in fat, nutritionist Mary Ruddick mentions in a video how some tribes she visited ate small amounts of carbohydrates from vegetables swimming in fat, like carbs were a vehicle to eat more fat) coming from whole foods every couple days or so. This has dramatically made a difference, as I can now actually sleep through the night. I noticed eating my last protein meal by 6-6:30 pm also helped I think in sleeping through the night; I had been eating my last meal between 4-5 pm and usually woke early hungry.

    Hi Neah. I’ve appreciated following your journey and I’m still new and struggling on mine. All I do have to offer is that it does make sense that you were losing weight because you were likely well below you TDEE for all if not most of those days. I’m also trying o eat high fat and it’s hard, especially as I’m trying to do it without dairy, so I get it… but it seems you may not be aware that those caloric numbers are very low for a woman your age who is probably decently active. Just throwing it out there and wishing you the best! ❤

    I haven't been out to eat in more than a year doing keto/vore. And I'm 21 days into full carn.
    Didn't think I'll ever go out now. But the Korean BBQ or Brazilian steakhouse seem like good options.

    Hi Neah! I enjoy your content. You and I are at very similar places in our dietary journeys. I think you're doing a wonderful job sticking to it. It's no small challenge trying to combine strict Lion Diet food choice standards with 20/80 macros. I wish you luck with that. One thing that helps me is to take a tablespoon of MCT oil before each meal. Also, if you're not averse to heavy-handed screaming and cursing, Cole Robinson's "Snake Diet" channel has been focusing on how to achieve these kinds of macros for the past couple of weeks. There's actually some bits of wisdom scattered throughout the ranting lunacy, if you can tolerate it. Best of luck to you!

    Neah, you're awesome! Loving your videos. So I cant stand food waste either and have backups for backups on food waste. Girl, get you some dogs, some chickens, a compost bin and a friend who will eat anything. 😂 The dogs get only meat but the chickens can have a lot of things... but you aren't doing eggs so....
    Anyways, you've inspired me to track mine. Are you tiny? Because your calories do seem pretty low. Of course you'd increase gradually but I do think maybe that's your sleep problem? I can't say anything as I wake up at 2 am and I'm looking for the answers as well. ❤

      the common consensus is to aim toward 1g protein / lbs of lean body weight, it does look like you are under eating. you can also try omad as your insulin spike will happen in order to trigger certain important process in the body, whereas if you split your protein intake in 2-3 meals a day, it will not trigger insulin response and thus keep you on full ketosis 24/7 without insulin production. especially if you are under eating protein like it seems from your macros, there is a probability that this is happening to you, might be one of the reasons why you are not sleeping well. @@neahsway

      I bought a whole one and cut it up into three portions, trying to disperse the fatty parts equally. Froze them, and then pulled one out, thawed and ground it when it was still slightly frozen. Turned out super yummy!

    You need to track macro if you can’t feel hunger and/or feel full after two bites, which is off course not enough full. I wonder how my fitness pal compares with carb manager 🤔 maybe I’ll have a testing of them. I am listening to you and you it’s like you are in my own body for almost all you are experiencing.

    When I was high fat carnivore, I gained a lot of weight and was constipated so I had to lower fat intake. Not sure why high fat doesn't work for me.

  • @blustar1856
    @blustar1856 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Protein is the challenging macro, and going by percentage macros just hasn't worked for me. Measuring grams of protein, or fat is the only way I can determine too much or too little protein; and measuring blood glucose and blood/breath ketones tells me if I'm in gluconeogenesis or not. Since I'm pretty sure that I was pre-diabetic prior to keto (now carnivore) I treat myself as being diabetic and measure everything. I think anyone trying to manage serious health issues cannot simply use hunger signals and 'instinct' to manage dietary macros. I have to know how my body is responding through measurable parameters, in order to determine how to adjust macros - the felt effects of biochemistry and neurochemistry alone are simply not enough for this former pre-diabetic.

  • @JohnnyHughes1
    @JohnnyHughes1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What I try to do is just eat equal grams of fat and protein. If you do that then you have 9/13 fat and 4/13 protein.. which is 70% fat and 30% protein.

    I tried to do high fat and followed an advice to eat 200g (actual weight) of fat (butter in my case) a day and I had so much nausea I wasnt able to eat anymore.. meat wasnt tasting good and I had to force myself to eat, so I stopped eating so much butter, and I started enyoing my meat again and no nausea. Have you heard this before? I haven't found a video talking about why this happens. 😩

    I don't pay attention to calories at all - nada.. Grams of protein, and grams of fat only.. I have trouble with the keto promoters in general - they are all promoting it based on losing weight. I don't want to be losing weight; but gaining muscle mass. Virtually no one in the keto/carnivore promotor ranks is talking about what is most important for me. Don't need to lose any more damn weight.

      Do you write down and track your grams per day? Or just get a ball park number in your head as you go? I looked back on my grams also from that week and agree with you, paying attention to that is probably a better way to get the information I need. Thanks!
